So much has happened in “the industry…the biz” as we call it. The media is fraught with controversy recently, as Tucker Carlson makes his exit from Fox, Don Lemon is ousted from CNN, as well as the loss of Jerry Springer. It was so fitting that our media expert, Brian Sheridan, Assistant Professor in the Department of Communication at Mercyhurst University, joined us Thursday to dig into these stories.
Brian "B.S." Sheridan sits down and shoots the bull with Doc. Fresh off his second attempt at the 300-mile Everglades Challenge, B.S. recounts his recent exploits and much more, including life as an engineer on a container ship, two-way trail magic, deet cream, predator eyes, and the magical memories of Chokoloskee, Buttonwood Canal, and the Nightmare. You're not going to want to miss this one! --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/johnfreakinmuir/support
We all know that there is a lot of time and planning spent preparing for ultra endurance races, so having to grab a DNF before reaching the finish line is a hard pill to swallow. It happens to all of us at some point for several different reasons. I've been there when I have to pull out of the California River Quest due to a few poor decisions early on in the race that definitely could have been avoided. But we paddle, we learn, and we paddle again. Weather its an issue this gear, equipment, nutrition and hydration, so many moving parts can fall apart. This is a story of Brian´s journey through the Everglades Challenge in which he had to pull out of the 2020 race, but went back and kicked some serious tail in 2022.This journey comes in 2 parts, so make sure you listen to Part 1 first. If you have every felt defeated because you had to pull out of a race, Brian´s positive outlook and perseverance will motivate you to go back and make it to the finish line. Source: WSN.comRyan Sullivan, Adam Forsythe, and Alece Anderson were joined this week by Brian Sheridan of TopBet Sports to talk NFL football, the post-draft world, and US President Donald Trump. Yes, there are multiple props for each, online now at any given time.Brian started things out with which team he thought had the most improved odds for Super Bowl 55 following the NFL draft. Ryan and Adam then gave their picks for who's climbed the board the quickest since the college pick em last week. The team then hit the OddShark odds board for which teams are likeliest to make or miss the postseason. The gang's picks may surprise but may also make you some pretty good money come playoff kickoff time. The conversation then shifted to the rookies themselves. Will Tua Tagovailoa, Justin Herbert, Jalen Hurts or Jordan Love get a week one start this season? It's a hefty long shot but Ryan decided to jump on the Tua train. He voted yes for a week one green light citing a major falter and stumble by Ryan Fitzpatrick in the preseason. The team summed things up with a President Trump Twitter prop regarding North Korean leader Kim-Jong Un.
