Kevin Colbert joined Cook & Joe earlier today. He gave comments on drafting Kenny Pickett and the QB competition. The guys debated how it should be handled. Both brought up the situation Brian Flores had to deal with in Miami a few years ago with rookie Tua Tagovailoa and veteran Ryan Fitzpatrick. Chris advocated for easing Kenny into the starting role and why playing him right away could hurt his development. Former Penguins goalie Ken Wregget joined the show. Ken played in the longest game in Penguin history. He talked about what it was like playing in a game like that and how he can relate to Louie Domingue. He talked about the game last night and the mentality Domingue had coming off the bench cold. He thinks Domingue is ready to roll and it could be a great boost to the team with a backup goalie. He commented on the goalie interference call – saying it would not have been a call during his playing career, but it was the right call now. Ken is rooting hard to Domingue to stay healthy and why it will be a tough call for Mike Sullivan to make a move at this point if Domingue continues to play well.

During this show, the hosts grade Wentz's performance, compare their level of optimism about Wentz to how they felt about Ryan Fitzpatrick, discuss the overall pushback on the Wentz trade and much more. They also briefly touch on Washington's newest guard, Andrew Norwell. The Buffalo Bills and the rest of the NFL teams are free to sign free agents beginning at 1 p.m. ET on Wednesday, March 16. On the latest episode of the Billieve Podcast, hosts John Boccacino and Jamie D'Amico run through a list of free agents they would like to see Buffalo general manager Brandon Beane sign this offseason as the Bills look to finally get over the hump and win their first Super Bowl. Among the players and discussed: Former Arizona Cardinals edge rusher Chandler Jones would make for an ideal addition to a Buffalo pass rush that needs to add an elite pass rusher, and rumor has it the interest is mutual. If Jones doesn't come to Buffalo, former Miami Dolphin Emmanuel Ogbah would make for a nice consolation prize at edge rusher. At the tight end position, the Bills enjoyed plenty of success in 2021 when they ran and threw using two tight ends. Former New York Giant Evan Engram would be a fantastic complement to Dawson Knox, and he offers up an intriguing mix of speed, athleticism and versatility. The Bills are faced with the prospect of having to replace CB2 if Levi Wallace walks in free agency. Charvarius Ward would more than make up for Wallace's departure, while Joe Haden would be a solid and relatively affordable signing to bolster Buffalo's secondary. Rasul Douglas and Casey Heyward would also represent significant upgrades at the cornerback position. If Beane makes only one move this offseason, both Boccacino and D'Amico want him to bring back Ryan Fitzpatrick to serve as Josh Allen's backup. D'Amico thinks the Bills need to look for a veteran to supplant Devin Singletary as Buffalo's RB1, while Boccacino thinks Marlon Mack would make a nice addition to the Bills' backfield. Neither Boccacino nor D'Amico wants the Bills to invest in wide receivers JuJu Smith-Schuster or Marquez Valdez-Scantling, though Boccacino is a proponent of signing Braxton Berrios as a valuable wideout and return specialist. Now, it's your turn. Which players do you hope Beane and the Bills sign this offseason? The Steelers front office was set to meet today and discuss their upcoming free agency position. The guys discussed what the Steelers may be debating about in the room regarding the quarterback position. Poni dropped names like Teddy Bridgewater, Ryan Fitzpatrick and Andy Dalton. Of course he wants Jameis Winston, but he presented a fear that the Steelers are looking for an even older option. Chris said he's worried they will be better than expected and stay in the same place they've been for multiple years.   Chicago radio host Danny Parkins joined the show to talk about Mitch Trubisky as a potential future Steelers QB. He mentioned that Trubisky, due to years and years of poor QB play, is actually one of the better QBs in team history. When asked if Trubisky is a “low-risk, high-reward” type player, Danny agreed to that. The guys talked about Trubisky not being a smart player and Danny confirmed his thoughts on that. Danny did say Trubisky is a good athlete and throws a pretty pass, but otherwise, the compliments were not fulfilling.  The guys talked about a high school basketball game they plan to attend.

In this episode of Not Another Buffalo Podcast, Pat, Jon & Brando discuss the current options for the Bills at backup quarterback. With Jake Fromm and Davis Webb now in New York and the probable departure of Mitch Trubisky, the QB room has become like every 80's rock band with only one original member. There are certainly some good options that will be on the available market; names like Teddy Bridgewater and Marcus Mariota are often brought up as possible options. Some hometown favorites are also in the conversation, with Tyrod Taylor and Ryan Fitzpatrick both available this offseason. A large factor in the equation will likely be the price tag, and the value of Trubisky's 2021 contract will be hard to beat. Welcome back to the Bill Bradley Collective, where this week your hosts put on their professorial hats with a critical assessment of President Joseph R. Biden's freshman year at White House University. That's right, letter grades from the Collective faculty for long-time Senator, two-term Vice President, and incumbent frosh President Biden as we enter the second year of his administration. Biden inherited a nation embroiled in a pandemic and fresh off the heels of the most divisive and polarizing figure the White House has ever hosted. Curve or no curve, what say we on Biden: immigration, foreign policy, COVID and more. Do underwhelming returns rest at the feet of perhaps Delaware's greatest son or at those of his disgraced yet still viable and widely visible predecessor? Father and son go hard at one another and it is great. But first, there will be rants, as Ed examines the latest premature playoff departure of presumptive MVP and noted COVID truther Aaron Rodgers through the lens of yet another self-serving media exit interview; Zak juxtaposes Ed's QB critique with a profile in acclaim of Collective favorite and all-around righteous dude Ryan Fitzpatrick; and finally Andrew calls foul on retired basketball great John Stockton for disgracing his alma mater by way of failure to comply with Gonzaga's indoor mask mandate.
