[00:30] Cassidy Hutchinson's Big Lie (35 minutes)In yesterday's January 6 hearings, 25-year-old Cassidy Hutchinson told a story based on hearsay about Donald Trump's January 6 drive from the Ellipse to the White House. She claimed that President Trump attempted to take hold of the steering wheel when his secret service agent refused to take him to the Capitol. She went on to say how Trump reached for his agent's neck in an effort to force his will on him. Hutchinson's preposterous claims were quickly debunked, but that didn't keep the talking heads in the media from running with her fake narrative. [35:55] ‘By Reason of Transgression' (14 minutes)In Chapter 2 of my father's book America Under Attack, he explains why there is such a disdain for truth in America. Eugenie Bondurant Talks about her Role as The Occultist in The Conjuring 3: The Devil Made Me Do It, available Today on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray and DVD. Eugenie Bondurant refers to herself as "Tall and Skinny," at 6'1" she isn't lying about the tall part, nor how slender she is and thankfully, she was able to make the interview comfortable as the only thing more terrifying to me than a horror movie based on demon possession are musicals. Luckily, The Conjuring 3: The Devil Made Me Do It, isn't a musical, but as a religious man who holds advanced degrees in theology, has witnessed the stigmata as well as other either holy or unholy events, her turn as The Occultist was bone chilling. Other than the creepy contortionist scene early on in the film, Bondurant was so believable as an evil figure in The Conjuring 3 that I was almost scared to talk to her. Now as the film has been available on Digital HD since July 23, 2021 and is now available in hard copy format on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray and DVD today, we were able to speak with Bondurant about her role in the film, what scares her and what does it do to one's psyche when playing a real life figure. We also touch upon her bonus feature, The Occultist - Meet the terrifying new addition to the Conjuring Universe. Official Synopsis: The Conjuring 3: The Devil Made Me Do It reveals a chilling story of terror, murder and unknown evil that shocked even experienced real-life paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren. One of the most sensational cases from their files, it starts with a fight for the soul of a young boy, then takes them beyond anything they'd ever seen before, to mark the first time in U.S. history that a murder suspect would claim demonic possession as a defense. 4K, BLU-RAY & DVD ELEMENTS The Conjuring 3: The Devil Made Me Do It 4K UHD combo pack and Blu-ray contain the following special features: “By Reason of Demonic Possession” - An in depth look atthe true story that inspired the movie “TheOccultist” - Meet the terrifying new addition to the Conjuring Universe “Exorcism of Fear” - Delve intothe making of the movie and the chilling exorcism scene that opens the film” “DC Horror PresentsThe Conjuring: The Lover #1” – A video comic that takes you deeper into the Conjuring Universe The Conjuring 3: The Devil Made Me Do It DVD contains the following special feature: “By Reason of Demonic Possession” Follow Eugenie Bondurant on Instagram @eugbondurant. It took a horrible murder for Alaska to revise its statutes for the criminally insane from some of the most lenient sentencing laws in the country to the strictest laws in the U.S. for the insanity defense. On the night of May 3, 1982, one veteran Anchorage police officer was quoted as saying, “This has got to be one of the grisliest nights I’ve ever seen.” Within an hour, seven people lost their lives. Three died in the Black Bull bar in the Muldoon section of Anchorage, and the other four were shot in Russian Jack Springs Park in East Anchorage. At first, investigators wondered if the two crime scenes were connected, but they soon learned nothing linked the two horrific events. False information and a sense of hysteria is in the air after nearly 8000 people have been affected by Coronavirus (at the time of the recording of this episode). But is the Coronavirus enabling an anti-Chinese sentiment?  Also, with Instagram, Facebook and even TicTok making everyone witness to our outfits of the day, healing journeys, and tedious workout routines, is there such a thing as a “personal life” anymore?  Plus, it hasn’t been easy wrapping our head around the complicated legacy of basketball legend Kobe Bryant. At his best, he was a dedicated husband and an active philanthropist but at his worst, he allegedly raped a 19 year old woman back in 2003. How do we navigate the good, the bad and the ugly of a celebrity’s legacy? Into the Field from Jacket2.org

I meet Andrew Zawacki in this episode of Into the Field, recorded on the campus of the University of Georgia in Athens. Zawacki teaches in the creative writing program at UGA, and holds degrees from the College of William and Mary, Oxford, the University of St. Andrews in Scotland, and the University of Chicago. His books of poetry are By Reason of Breakings (University of Georgia Press, 2002), Anabranch (Wesleyan University Press, 2004), and Petals of Zero Petals of One (Talisman House, 2009). Zawacki's writing has appeared in The New Yorker, The Nation, and The New Republic, as well as in many anthologies and journals. We talk about his ambivalence toward his role as a "professional" poet, and discuss what he's learned from his students over the years. The show begins with a reading from his long poem "Georgia," which explores his sense of cultural alienation after moving to Athens in 2005.
