It's been twenty-two years since that fateful Tuesday morning in September, and on night's like tonight I always find it hard to talk about anything else as it is on everyone's mind. So we'll spend some time on some news of the day, remembrances, and plenty venting about the event that is a direct progenitor of everything we are dealing with today. Several protestors have been arrested after barging into speaker McCarthys office on Capitol Hill... wouldn't that be considered an insurrection? Also, New York City Mayor Eric Adams is reportedly considering cutting overtime pay for nypd officers to keep up with the costs of the city's ongoing migrant crisis. Plus, a climate scientist in California admits he didn't tell the full truth in effort to get his climate change study published in a magazine… they wonder why we don't trust the science.
Let's take a journey back to the tragic day of September 11th, 2001, a day that unified America amidst a devastating act of terror. As your host, I'll be sharing my personal perspective of that day and the ripple effects it had across the world. We'll reflect on the unity born out of anguish and how it briefly bridged political divisions. There's power in remembering, and through this raw recollection, I hope to inspire a sense of unity and collective resilience.Yet, we can't focus solely on the past. We need to confront the continuing threats to our democracy and the missteps that have tarnished America's global image. Through candid discussions, we'll examine the blunders of Republican leadership, the ill-advised wars they led us into, and the potential catastrophe we narrowly avoided on January 6th, 2021. This is a sobering reminder of our near-brush with disaster and the crucial need for vigilance and action. Together, let's take a hard look at our past to understand and navigate our future more wisely.Support the showhttps://www.buzzsprout.com/2003879/supportFollow our show's hosts on Twitter: twitter.com/@CoolTXchicktwitter.com/@Caroldedwinetwitter.com/blackknight10ktwitter.com/@pardonpodSubscribe to Ty's substack:https://theworldasiseeit.substack.com/Support Our Sponsor:Eucalyptus Sheets (Recommended):Sleep Mask (I use this every night)Eucalyptus ComfortorAdjustable Eukalyptus Pillow

Today, we reflect on and remember September 11, 2001, and the events that unfolded on that sad day. A tragedy that forever changed America, possibly for the worse. If you're paying attention, you've probably noticed the word “insurrection” keeps being used. Why are so many people using a 19th-century word only really seen in Civil War-era laws meant to keep Confederate soldiers off the ballot? It's all being orchestrated so that they can keep Donald Trump off of ballots through the 14th Amendment. Speaking of presidents, Joe Biden continues to be the creepy, old man that he's always been. Look no further than Sleepy Joe speaking in Vietnam, where his staff cut off his microphone in an attempt to stop his nonsensical rambling. Eric Adams is finally admitting immigrants are destroying sanctuary city New York, and the ladies at “The View” think the immigrants should be resettled. We're joined by Mark Jones, Second Amendment advocate and national hunter outreach director for Gun Owners of America, to talk to about the Biden administration's attempts to try to ban shooting and archery in schools. Mark also discusses the targeting of hunters by going after lead ammunition and the ways you can fight back against this violation of the Second Amendment. With Qanon still maintaining a grip of a sizeable number of people, The Opperman Report thought it would be interesting to catch up with the iconic Jacob Chansley, who many will recall was the man in the painted face and horns who was pictured in the House of Congress on January 6th, 2021.In a fascinating interview, Chansley talks about his motivations and beliefs, and why Qanon has become such a movement.Jacob Chansley also known under the name Jake Angeli, and as the QAnon Shaman, Q Shaman,d Yellowstone Wolf, is an American alt-right conspiracy theorist and activist who participated in the January 6 attack on the United States Capitol, which he was convicted of felony charges of obstructing an official proceeding. He has been a supporter of President Donald Trump and a believer and disseminator of the QAnon conspiracy theory.Chansley attended demonstrations in the Phoenix, Arizona, area starting around 2019, in particular in a march for climate. At rallies, he promoted conspiracy theories supporting Trump, and he has been a counterprotestor at Black Lives Matter events. His appearance, with face paint utilizing the colors and symbols of the American flag and a headdress made of animal fur, helped to establish his shaman nicknames. After being photographed taking part in the January 6 storming of the Capitol, Chansley was arrested on January 9 on federal charges of "knowingly entering or remaining in any restricted building or grounds without lawful authority, and with violent entry and disorderly conduct on Capitol grounds". He pleaded guilty to a single charge in September, and was sentenced to 41 months (3.4 yr) in prison in November 2021. He served out a portion of his sentence at Federal Correctional Institution - Safford in Safford, Arizona, and was transferred to a halfway house on March 28, 2023, from which he was released on May 25, 2023.This show is part of the Spreaker Prime Network, if you are interested in advertising on this podcast, contact us at https://www.spreaker.com/show/1198501/advertisement
Trump, the proverbial Trojan horse for global adversaries, remains a daunting threat to our democracy. Brace yourself for an intense journey as we delve into his dark machinations - from the shocking revelations about Enrique Tarrio's 22-year sentence for his role in the January 6th assault on the US Capitol to the unnerving investigations against Roger Stone and Peter Navarro's contempt of Congress. The chilling reality of Trump's alliance with world adversaries, hell-bent on world domination, will leave you questioning the very foundations of our political landscape. We don't stop there. The specter of Trump running for president in 2024 and the potential for a catastrophic coup post-election looms ominously. Matt Gaetz's warning of potential bloodshed is unsettling, to say the least. Yet, the disqualification under Section 3 of the 14th Amendment could be the silver lining we seek. As we unravel these complex issues, we push the boundaries of conventional discourse and explore the legal implications of the 14th Amendment on Trump's eligibility. Uncover with us a fresh perspective on how Congressional determination of insurrection could render a guilty verdict unnecessary, potentially saving us from a terrifying dystopian future. That's what they're trying to use. But there are numerous problems with that. The biggest problem is he's never been convicted of insurrection or rebellion."

Biden Will Be a One Term PresidentI came up with this insight nearly three years ago. If I had posted it back then, you could have thought about it all this time and looked for little signs here and there. With Joe creating a campaign structure, it may look a bit different in late 2023. Still, it is only 8 minutes or so long so you will not sacrifice a lot of time listening to it. And if you haven't listened to the podcasts on the three indictments (Mara-Lago Documents, January 6 Insurrection, and Georgia Election Interference) those are well worth your time. As is the Dominion v Fox News podcast, also rather short. Have fun.

Part of the 14th Amendment, adopted after the Civil War, bans people who aided in insurrection or rebellion against the United States, from working for its government. This could, for his actions related to January 6th, make former President Trump ineligible to run for President again. “We are naive if we think that we don't have to fight for [our democracy] every single day,” says Sen. Raphael Warnock (D-GA), in this week's WITHpod. Given how imperiled our democracy is, we thought it would be good to talk about the nation's democratic health with someone who has navigated some of the most difficult terrain in American politics. Sen. Warnock, who defeated Republican challenger Herschel Walker, is the author of numerous books, including his latest titled, “A Way Out of No Way: A Memoir of Truth, Transformation, and the New American Story.” He's also the pastor of Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta. He joins WITHpod to discuss his concerns about the state of our democracy, his efforts to renew the fight for voting rights, the most surprising part of being a U.S. senator, what he thinks the worst part of his job is and more.
