Justin, Chad, and Zech sit down and discuss some of the things we want to accomplish as missionaries in PNG. As missionaries, what we do day to day does not always feel exactly what it was like when we were presenting the vision of where we were called to work. Why that has happened is not because our mission for Christ has changed, but it has happened as we tailor "mission work" to the culture by which we are surrounded. What does that look like? What does that even mean? Listen and find out as we try to give what that means to us in Pangia, Papua New Guinea.
JD got to hang out with someone he has been a huge fan of for years, The Reverend Chad Wells! Along with owning a tattoo business for years, Chad is also the lead singer of Dayton Ohio based horror punk band, The Jackalopes, and more recently psychedelic band, Cricketbows. Chad shares stories of the history of The Jackalopes & Cricketbows, punk music and living the punk rocker life, how becoming a dad helped evolve his musical expression, and the man who died...sort of. Stay tuned after the interview for The Jackalopes crushing cover of "You Should Never Have Opened That Door" by The Ramones! Traverse with us, Fellow Travelers! Chad Wells is a second-generation missionary to the country of Papua New Guinea and his entire family has been deeply involved in the many ministries and outreaches that they've undertaken, including their Christian school, a printing ministry, a radio ministry, Religious Instruction classes in the local public school, preaching and teaching in local churches, and much more. Bro. Chad has experienced the trying experience of transitioning from a dependent with his family on the foreign field to and independent adult back in the states, and now he's navigating this same season of life with his own children. In this interview we discuss the role of the family in missionary service, the first installment in a two-part interview. Your feedback is welcome.
