We believe in salvation by grace through faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ on Calvary plus nothing. What Cornerstone Baptist Church believes:The Bible says in 1 Peter 4:11, “If any man speak, let him speak as of the oracles of God; if any man minister, let him do it as of the ability which God giveth: that God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom be praise and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.” Our heart's desire is that God may be glorified in all things as we seek to minister to others. Cornerstone Baptist Church was started in 1991 by a group of people who wanted a church where the Bible was the final authority, not tradition or denomination. Since that time, God has blessed the effort of that initial group and the vision has been broadened and refined as the years have passed. As we have sought the leadership of the Holy Spirt and with a desire to “seek the old paths”. There are a few ministries which seem to be the “earmarks” of our church. First would be Bible preaching and teaching, in order to “perfect he saints”. We have also seen a great response to the challenge of World Missions as we continue to support more missionaries each year. One of our goals is to minister to the entire family and emphasize the importance of Bible based homes. This of course leads to a lot of training for the youth, and a particular emphasis on character. With these areas of emphasis, we also strive to exercise grace and allow the saints room and time to grow in the Lord. Christianity is not a Sunday religion It is not a performance. It is a relationship with Jesus Christ which matures with time and effort. Christ's Advent: We believe that the eternal Son of God came into this world that He might manifest God to men, fulfill prophecy, and become the Redeemer of a lost world. He was born of a virgin, conceived by the Holy Ghost, received a human body, and a sinless nature.Salvation: We believe that, owing to death through sin, no one can enter the Kingdom of God unless born again. I spent half of my life in and out of jails, prisons, rehabs, and other facilities. Unfortunately, the programs that were offered did not help me to become a productive member of society, it just made me a better inmate. Whatchanged me, was a new life in Jesus Christ and reading/studying a King James Bible.Many prisons, jails, and other institutions have heard from many of their inmates that they are changed due to religion. However, most are seen back within the next year or two. As God gave Moses a burden for the Children of Israel, so God gave me a burden for those in jails and prisons. Churches send missionaries to foreign countries, in support, hopes and prayers, they can win the nationals to Jesus, train them and then send the nationals back to their own people. This is what Jesus has done for me. He saved me out of this life of crimes and addiction, and now sends me back to my people who are in jails/prisons, to win them to Christ and send them back to their own peopleThis is where Liberty Behind Bars Ministry steps in. Not only do we minister to those behind the jail walls we help them transition into society; differently than they did in the past. The goal is to break the cycle of recidicism and help people have a changed life in Jesus Christ. The Scriptures are inerrant, infallible and God breathed, and therefore are the final authority for faith and life. The sixty-six books of the Old and New Testament are the complete and divine revelation of God to Man. The Scriptures shall be interpreted according to their normal grammatical historical meaning. The King James Version of the Bible shall be the official and only translation used by the church (2 Tim. 3:16-17). We believe in one Triune God, eternally existing in three persons—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—each coeternal in being, co-identical in nature, coequal in power and glory, and having the same attributes and perfections (Deut. 6:4). We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ, the eternal Son of God, became man, without ceasing to be God, having been conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary, in order that He might reveal God and redeem sinful men (Phil. 2:58). We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ accomplished our redemption through his death on the cross as a representative, vicarious, substitutionary sacrifice; and, that our justification is made sure by His literal, physical resurrection from the dead (1 Peter 1:35). We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ ascended to Heaven, and is now exalted at the right hand of God, where, as our High Priest, He fulfills the ministry of Representative, Intercessor, and Advocate (Acts 1:910). We believe that salvation is the gift of God brought to man by grace and received by personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, whose precious blood was shed on Calvary for the forgiveness of our sins 1 Pet. 1:1819). We believe in that “blessed hope,” the personal, imminent return of Christ Who will rapture His Church prior to the seven year tribulation period. Amen.” Our heart's desire is that God may be glorified in all things as we seek to minister to others. Cornerstone Baptist Church was started in 1991 by a group of people who wanted a church where the Bible was the final authority, not tradition or denomination. Since that time, God has blessed the effort of that initial group and the vision has been broadened and refined as the years have passed. As we have sought the leadership of the Holy Spirt and with a desire to “seek the old paths”. There are a few ministries which seem to be the “earmarks” of our church. First would be Bible preaching and teaching, in order to “perfect he saints”. We have also seen a great response to the challenge of World Missions as we continue to support more missionaries each year. One of our goals is to minister to the entire family and emphasize the importance of Bible based homes. This of course leads to a lot of training for the youth, and a particular emphasis on character. This is what Jesus has done for me. He saved me out of this life of crimes and addiction, and now sends me back to my people who are in jails/prisons, to win them to Christ and send them back to their own peopleThis is where Liberty Behind Bars Ministry steps in. Cornerstone Baptist Church was started in 1991 by a group of people who wanted a church where the Bible was the final authority, not tradition or denomination. Since that time, God has blessed the effort of that initial group and the vision has been broadened and refined as the years have passed. As we have sought the leadership of the Holy Spirt and with a desire to “seek the old paths”. There are a few ministries which seem to be the “earmarks” of our church. First would be Bible preaching and teaching, in order to “perfect he saints”. We have also seen a great response to the challenge of World Missions as we continue to support more missionaries each year. One of our goals is to minister to the entire family and emphasize the importance of Bible based homes. However, most are seen back within the next year or two. As God gave Moses a burden for the Children of Israel, so God gave me a burden for those in jails and prisons. Churches send missionaries to foreign countries, in support, hopes and prayers, they can win the nationals to Jesus, train them and then send the nationals back to their own people. This is what Jesus has done for me. He saved me out of this life of crimes and addiction, and now sends me back to my people who are in jails/prisons, to win them to Christ and send them back to their own peopleThis is where Liberty Behind Bars Ministry steps in. Amen.” Our heart's desire is that God may be glorified in all things as we seek to minister to others. Cornerstone Baptist Church was started in 1991 by a group of people who wanted a church where the Bible was the final authority, not tradition or denomination. Since that time, God has blessed the effort of that initial group and the vision has been broadened and refined as the years have passed. As we have sought the leadership of the Holy Spirt and with a desire to “seek the old paths”. There are a few ministries which seem to be the “earmarks” of our church. First would be Bible preaching and teaching, in order to “perfect he saints”. We have also seen a great response to the challenge of World Missions as we continue to support more missionaries each year. One of our goals is to minister to the entire family and emphasize the importance of Bible based homes. This of course leads to a lot of training for the youth, and a particular emphasis on character. With these areas of emphasis, we also strive to exercise grace and allow the saints room and time to grow in the Lord. Christianity is not a Sunday religion It is not a performance. What Cornerstone Baptist Church believes:The Bible says in 1 Peter 4:11, “If any man speak, let him speak as of the oracles of God; if any man minister, let him do it as of the ability which God giveth: that God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom be praise and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.” Our heart's desire is that God may be glorified in all things as we seek to minister to others. Cornerstone Baptist Church was started in 1991 by a group of people who wanted a church where the Bible was the final authority, not tradition or denomination. Since that time, God has blessed the effort of that initial group and the vision has been broadened and refined as the years have passed. As we have sought the leadership of the Holy Spirt and with a desire to “seek the old paths”. There are a few ministries which seem to be the “earmarks” of our church. First would be Bible preaching and teaching, in order to “perfect he saints”. We have also seen a great response to the challenge of World Missions as we continue to support more missionaries each year. One of our goals is to minister to the entire family and emphasize the importance of Bible based homes. This of course leads to a lot of training for the youth, and a particular emphasis on character. With these areas of emphasis, we also strive to exercise grace and allow the saints room and time to grow in the Lord. Christianity is not a Sunday religion It is not a performance. It is a relationship with Jesus Christ which matures with time and effort. The Scriptures, originally recorded by Spirit led men, have been faithfully translated and preserved in our English Language. We believe the Authorized Version (A.V. 1611) is infallible and selfless: our final authority for all matters of faith and practice. Christ's Advent: We believe that the eternal Son of God came into this world that He might manifest God to men, fulfill prophecy, and become the Redeemer of a lost world. He was born of a virgin, conceived by the Holy Ghost, received a human body, and a sinless nature.Salvation: We believe that, owing to death through sin, no one can enter the Kingdom of God unless born again. This redemption has been accomplished solely by the blood of our Lord Jesus Christ, who was made to be sin, dying in our stead, and that He was bodily and physically raised from the dead for our justification. I spent half of my life in and out of jails, prisons, rehabs, and other facilities. Unfortunately, the programs that were offered did not help me to become a productive member of society, it just made me a better inmate. Whatchanged me, was a new life in Jesus Christ and reading/studying a King James Bible.Many prisons, jails, and other institutions have heard from many of their inmates that they are changed due to religion. However, most are seen back within the next year or two. As God gave Moses a burden for the Children of Israel, so God gave me a burden for those in jails and prisons. Churches send missionaries to foreign countries, in support, hopes and prayers, they can win the nationals to Jesus, train them and then send the nationals back to their own people. This is what Jesus has done for me. He saved me out of this life of crimes and addiction, and now sends me back to my people who are in jails/prisons, to win them to Christ and send them back to their own peopleThis is where Liberty Behind Bars Ministry steps in. Not only do we minister to those behind the jail walls we help them transition into society; differently than they did in the past. The goal is to break the cycle of recidicism and help people have a changed life in Jesus Christ.
