She is also the founder of the Nutrition Coalition, an independent non-profit dedicated to ensuring that nutrition policy is evidence based. She is the author of the New York Times bestseller, The Big Fat Surprise, which upended the conventional wisdom on dietary fat–especially saturated fat—and spurred a new conversation about whether these fats in fact cause heart disease. Teicholz attended Yale and Stanford where she studied biology and majored in American Studies. She has a master's degree from Oxford University and served as associate director of the Center for Globalization and Sustainable Development at Columbia University. Rags to Riches and the American Dream... or something close to it... we look at two films that have characters striving to make their lives better against considerable odds. Mike C and Mike L look at the struggles of Joy (played by Jennifer Lawrence) in David O Russell's 2015 drama, Joy.  Mike and Mike have slightly differing opinions on what makes the film okay but ultimately lacking... something.   By comparison, The Pursuit of Happyness, (2006) explored a similar story of life on the edge of poverty, and homelessness experienced by Chris Gardener and his son played by Will Smith and Jaden Smith to better effect.
