Revelation 22 vs 12-13. “Look, I am coming soon, bringing my reward with me to repay all people according to their deeds. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End.”
What will it be like when Christ returns? What would you feel about Him returning any day now? This message explores these questions by drawing from 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 plus 5:1-11 to see how Jesus's resurrection accomplished the final resurrection.
Praise properly terminates in God, on account of His natural excellencies and perfections, and is that act of devotion by which we confess and admire His attributes. We praise God for all His glorious acts of every kind, that regard either us or other men… but we thank Him, properly speaking, for the instances of His goodness alone, and for such only of these as we ourselves are some way concerned to.

James writes about patience and prayer. He speaks of the coming of the Lord to reign on earth. Even in our distresses and trials we can set our hope on the Lord Himself. We are implored to consider the previous prophets of the Scriptures who also spoke in the name of the Lord. The Unchanging Word Bible Broadcast continues in James 5:7-10 with our teacher, Dr. John G. Mitchell. He exhorts us to wait in patience for the blessing in view of the coming of the Lord for His own. Here is Dr. Mitchell, James 5:7-10.
If you're thinking to yourself, "I can't keep on going," that's not the issue. The issue is that God will keep on going. "He who called you is faithful; he will surely do it." 1 Thessalonians 5:12-28 Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices
We are looking forward to a new heaven, a new earth, a new body, and a whole new universe. Our focus on Christ's second coming gives a whole new purpose to our lives today. 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices
Our mortality is real, but Christians do not die in the sense that they will not be separated from God. We may become physically dead, but we're spiritually alive. Pastor Josh teaches how Christians can approach their physical death in a very different way. 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices
Some people spend their whole lives looking for a church that fits their preferences—but that's not the point of church! When we love people who are very different from us, it says to the world that these are Jesus' disciples, because the only reason we'd do so is because God is teaching us to. 1 Thessalonians 4:1-12 Learn more about your ad choices. It can seem like you're not making any difference in ministry whatsoever. The most important parts of ministry are hidden within our hearts—only God knows. As we seek to serve, this passage sets out an encouraging pathway on how we can have an authentic, Christlike, God-honoring ministry. 1 Thessalonians 2:1-12 Learn more about your ad choices. When you're a leader, it's very easy to always be thinking about the problems you need to fix and the people associated with those problems. But that's not Paul's approach; he has thanksgiving on his mind. Pastor Josh encourages us that the church can lift Jesus up and build us up in our faith. 1 Thessalonians 1:1-10 Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices

Clyde Kilough discusses 1 Thessalonians 4:13-15—“But I do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning those who have fallen asleep, lest you sorrow as others who have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who sleep in Jesus. For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord will by no means precede those who are asleep.”This episode is a companion to the following Daily Bible Verse post: https://lifehopeandtruth.com/bible/blog/hope-of-the-resurrection-at-the-coming-of-the-lord/Verse by Verse releases every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Fr. Mike points out the passages that highlight the coming of God, and asks us to reflect on whether our response is hope and excitement, or fear and dread. Just look around today and it's not hard to argue that we are getting very close to the coming of the Lord! If we know and really believe that, it should completely change the way we live. We're running out of time, and we must make the most of what remains. Let's talk about it on Light on the Hill, as pastor James Kaddis returns to James chapter five. When we know what is right or good, but choose not to do it, that's a sin. It's not hard to see, in this day and age, there are many Christians who are choosing not to get involved, or are refraining from saying something that needs to be said. So let's take this to heart as we join pastor James in the epistle of James chapter five. To support this ministry financially, visit: https://www.oneplace.com/donate/1459/29
