Jesus is coming again — are you ready? In this message from 1 Thessalonians 3:4–13, Pastor Bill reminds us to live with expectant hearts, growing in love, holiness, and faith as we look forward to the coming of the Lord.
Today, we examine John 14:1-3, where we now face the subject of the Lord's coming. We examine the early church Father's and what they taught, to see if there is any credence to the idea that the Rapture of the Church is a recent teaching coming out of the United States in 1833 as some believe. This message was preached in October 17th 2021.
This week's midweek reflection is given by Paul and focuses on 1 Thessalonians 4:13–18, a passage that addresses the pain of loss and the Christian hope that stands within it. Beginning with the reality of bereavement and the questions death naturally raises, Paul explains why the Thessalonian believers were so concerned about fellow Christians who had already died before Christ's return. He traces how Paul's letter reassures them in three important ways: Christians do grieve, but not without hope; those who die before Jesus returns will not miss out; and the coming of the Lord is a real future event that all believers can look forward to. The reflection connects these truths to our own lives today, helping listeners think about how the resurrection of Jesus reshapes fear, sorrow, and the way we encourage one another. This is a gentle, thoughtful episode that offers real comfort without rushing past the seriousness of loss. Listen in for a biblical perspective on death, resurrection, and the lasting hope of being with Christ forever.

In this episode, we explore what it truly means to live ready for the return of Jesus and why Scripture calls us to respond with eager expectation rather than indifference. Drawing from the message of The King Is Coming, John unpacks how we prepare our lives, stay spiritually alert, and keep our focus on eternity.

This podcast is a call to action for believers to rise as intercessors in the Body of Christ. It explores the responsibility we carry to stand in prayer for the Kingdom and to actively pray down the will of God on earth. Through powerful insights and spiritual encouragement, we are reminded that intercession is not optional. It is our duty, our service, and our partnership in advancing God's Kingdom.
This teaching centers on the Christian hope found in the rapture and the Day of the Lord, drawing primarily from 1 Thessalonians 4:13–18 and 1 Thessalonians 5:1–11, where Paul comforts believers about those who have “fallen asleep” in Christ and explains that Jesus will personally return, the dead in Christ will rise first, and living believers will be transformed and caught up to be with the Lord forever; this hope is grounded in Christ's resurrection as taught in 1 Corinthians 15:20, 1 Corinthians 15:23, and 1 Corinthians 15:51–52, affirmed by Jesus' promise in John 14:3, and illustrated by Christ's victory over death in Ephesians 4:8–10; believers are reminded that Christ's coming will be sudden and unmistakable, like a thief in the night (Matthew 24:36, Matthew 24:30–31), bringing judgment on the unprepared as described in Ezekiel 30:3–4, Joel 2:11, and 2 Peter 3:10, while delivering salvation to those who live as children of light (1 Peter 2:9); therefore, Christians are exhorted to remain alert, holy, and self-controlled, clothed in faith, love, and the hope of salvation (Ephesians 6:14–17), purifying themselves in anticipation of Christ's return (1 John 3:3) and abiding in Him so they will not shrink back in shame at His appearing (1 John 2:28) You can connect with Moriel in more locations than just YouTube! From the early 1970s to the countdown to the 21st century, there was an ever-increasing, feverish call for the return of Christ at any moment. Although things have calmed down, the question still remains: When will Christ return?

Just look around today and it's not hard to see that we are getting very close to the coming of the Lord! If we know and really believe that, it should completely change the way we live. We're running out of time, and we must make the most of what remains. Let's talk about it right now on Light on the Hill. Today we return to pastor James Kaddis' verse by verse study in James. We left off in chapter five. When we know what is right or good, but choose not to do it, that's a sin. It's not hard to see, in this day and age, there are many Christians who are choosing not to get involved, or are refraining from saying something that needs to be said. So let's take this to heart. 1 Thessalonians 3:12-13 by Marcus Mullet | Teaching Elder
In this powerful message, we are called to wake up from spiritual slumber and remain vigilant in our faith. Drawing from scriptures such as 1 Thessalonians 5:1, Matthew 25:1, 1 Peter 5:8, Romans 13:11, and 2 Timothy 3:1-5, we learn the importance of staying alert and ready for Christ's return. Now is the time to spiritually awaken, live intentionally, and be watchful for the signs of the times.
Pastor Nathan continues the series in the book of James on Sunday morning, August 17, 2025. (James 5:7-11)

Clyde Kilough discusses 1 Thessalonians 4:13-15—“But I do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning those who have fallen asleep, lest you sorrow as others who have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who sleep in Jesus.
