Are we being molded into servants for something we don't understand? God doesn't ask for silence, he asks for courage. Whispered in the routine was the forfeiting of our consent. In this powerful message from Pastor Ken Senchal, we're invited to look at greed through a spiritual lens — not as a financial issue, but as a heart issue rooted in misplaced worship. When we forget who our Provider is, we start living like everything depends on us. But when we remember that God already owns it all, we can finally live open-handed, free, and full of gratitude. Through Scripture and story, Pastor Ken explores: Why greed is the idolatry of more — and how it quietly erodes our devotion to God What it really means when Jesus says, "You cannot serve both God and money" (Matthew 6:24) How faith and generosity dismantle fear, anxiety, and scarcity thinking Why contentment isn't complacency — it's confidence in the character of God How eternal perspective reshapes the way we see possessions, purpose, and people You'll walk away challenged and inspired to rebel against the world's obsession with more by cultivating a grateful heart, practicing generosity, and refocusing your life on what truly lasts — eternity.

In this powerful episode of Fatherhood Field Notes, we sit down with Ryan Miller—a man whose joyful demeanor belies a journey through significant trials and transformation. Ryan opens up about his 24-year marriage, raising two daughters, and how embracing suffering has shaped him into the father and husband he is today. He shares vulnerable stories about his own mistakes, including a near-infidelity experience, surviving the 2017 Las Vegas mass shooting, and how these moments became catalysts for growth rather than destruction. Ryan discusses the importance of physical and spiritual health, intentional presence with our children, and how fathers can balance ambition with family priorities. He offers practical wisdom on passing faith to our children and extending fatherly influence beyond biological connections. This conversation will challenge you, inspire you, and equip you to embrace both strength and vulnerability in your fatherhood journey.Chapters:00:00:00 - Introduction and first impressions00:01:06 - Finding joy through suffering and Ryan's transformative experiences00:05:30 - Discussing suffering with children and embracing life's challenges00:09:09 - Ryan's background and focus on health00:11:19 - Life in California and creating family memories00:13:00 - Building relationships with daughters and potential sons-in-law00:22:38 - Ryan's central message to men about purpose and responsibility00:25:01 - Men of Greatness Brotherhood community and resources00:26:43 - Understanding discipline as alignment rather than control00:29:18 - Discussing God's purpose versus individual choices00:35:52 - Balancing career aspirations with family priorities00:40:17 - Rebelling against the idea that vulnerability is weakness00:45:45 - The father's role as provider and protector00:48:10 - Passing faith to children through modeling and conversation00:56:53 - Envisioning the future as a grandfatherLinks and ResourcesRyan's Community: School.com/men-of-greatnessRyan's Website: RyanJamesMiller.comWounds: How Hurt, Heartache, and Tragedy Become the Keys to Unlocking Greatness:
WelcomeHello, Lovelies. It's Juliette here, and today I am joined by the extraordinary Sevda Hussain. Sevda's story is one of resilience, rebellion, and deep embodiment. From a childhood marked by abandonment to three decades in the adult industry, she discovered confidence, self-love, and the truth of living as art itself. In this conversation, we move through Persephone's underworld, into the light of dark luxury, embodiment, plus-size confidence, and the power of daring to stand fully in your truth.Episode Summary In this episode, Sevda and I walk through her extraordinary journey, a life she describes as much like Persephone, the queen of the underworld. From being left in hospital at birth and moving through over a hundred foster homes by the age of three, to three decades in the adult industry, Sevda shares how her path into the shadows taught her self-love, embodiment, and confidence as a plus-size woman. We speak about sex work as a form of therapy, the myths around desirability, and how women can dare to believe their truth. Sevda also opens up about her work in dark luxury branding, helping women not just look like art but become it, and how she continues to channel her rebel spirit into creativity, poetry, and embodiment.Key Takeaways Life Like PersephoneSevda describes her journey through abandonment, foster care, and the adult industry as a path much like Persephone, moving through the underworld to find power, beauty, and truth.Embodiment Over ImageConfidence is not about how a photo looks. It is about whether you can keep showing up in your embodiment, again and again.Curves Are DesiredThe myth that only thin women are wanted is conditioning. Desire lives in curves, softness, and truth. BBW sex work revealed what women have been taught to deny.Dark Luxury BrandingSevda creates intuitive branding that turns women into art itself. Not performance, not façade, but embodiment made visible.Rebellion as TruthBeing called a rebel is not defiance for its own sake. It is daring to challenge systems, conditioning, and shame. The real rebellion is standing in your truth.Resources and Links
What does God do when we run the other way? In this week's message, Rebelling & Returning to God, we look at the story of Jonah and discover that God doesn't just punish rebellion—He uses storms and even “no way out” situations to draw us back to Him. Through Jonah's journey, we see that God's goal isn't to crush rebels but to restore them, showing His incredible love and patience. If you've ever wandered from God or know someone who has, this message will give you hope, perspective, and encouragement to return to Him.

When we allow God, our Shepherd, to guide us, we have contentment and refreshment. When we choose to sin, however, we go our own way and cannot blame God for the environment we create for ourselves. Our Shepherd knows the "green pastures" and "quiet waters" that will restore us. We will reach these places only by following him obediently. Rebelling against the Shepherd's leading is actually rebeling against our own best interests. Remember this the next time you are tempted to go your own way rather than the Shepherd's way.

I was tempted to suggest that it's whether or not Kellen ratted out the "Ferrix four" but I don't want to risk people thinking I'm making light of assault. It's disgusting. It's hard to watch. It happened, even in a galaxy far, far away. Cassian Andor isn't a squeaky clean and virtuous guy, but it's all in degrees. Is Luthen a better man? Certainly not Saw. Was Brasso a stand up guy? I think so. Rebelling against the tyranny of the Empire as we see it in Star Wars takes sacrifices. The Imperial playbook seems to be that an atrocity doesn't happen if you don't hear about it and we'll let you hear about the ones we can use."Harvest" reaps what was sown in the first two episodes and it gives us a look into the home life of two government workers who came together under a problematic circumstance. Dedra delicately handles Syril's mom. Leida wishes her mom was drunk. Kleya is watching the weather for Cassian. Tay Kolma's usual rideshare driver is out, and Cinta is in. Wilmon is nowhere to be found, Brasso is down, and Bix stands her ground. We hear more of Chandi Merles and Rakatans and someone who was born on Naboo. We see a Chandrilan wedding, a Chandrilan wedding dance, and the reception is jumping to the sound of last summer. Niamos! There is a first impressions podcast already out and recaps and discussions for the first two episodes of this story block as well. Similar to Benjamin Mays, Dorie Ladner (1943-2024) used to say she was “born to rebel.” She fought for human rights her whole life, transforming Social Structures while also centering her Ways of Knowing and the Governance formations she was raised in as an African person in Mississippi, in the Civil Rights Movement and in global liberation movements. Many US debates about reparations, such as Nicole Hannah-Jones article in this Sunday's New York Times Magazine, center what Black people believe that the US “owes” Africans descended from US enslavement. Rebelling against an oppressive Social Structure and Repairing oneself and/or community are not the same. March 6, 2025Today's Reading: Catechism: Close of the CommandmentsDaily Lectionary: Genesis 1:20-2:3; Mark 1:14-28What does God say about all these commandments? He says, “I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin of the fathers to the third and fourth generation of those who hate Me, but showing love to a thousand generations of those who love Me and keep My commandments.” (Ex. 20: 5–6)What does this mean? God threatens to punish all who break these commandments. Therefore, we should fear His wrath and not do anything against them. But He promises grace and every blessing to all who keep these commandments. Therefore, we should also love and trust in Him and gladly do what He commands. In the Name + of Jesus. Amen. Why does God give His Commandments? It's not because He has some spare commandments lying around and wants to keep us busy. It's not that He needs something for us to do to show how much we like Him. God commands us to do (or not do) because He doesn't want those He loves to be hurt. Coveting our neighbor's stuff and relationships causes hurt. Taking away our neighbor's life, family, things, and reputation causes hurt. Rejecting authority causes hurt. Rebelling against God causes hurt. And our Lord isn't happy when we hurt those whom He loves, even when we hurt ourselves. Jesus loves you. That's not just some Sunday School song. The creator of all things cares so much for you, His creation, that He will give His life for your sake. He sacrifices Himself to pay for your sins. And He does all this before you've even done anything yet. His love is not earned. It is given freely to you. Breaking those Commandments is to throw away God's Gifts of love, of life, of forgiveness and to cling instead to sin and death. There are consequences for that. And those consequences do last for generations. I think of the things screwed up in my own family, and I see them passed down to my kids. And I don't want that for them. But I also see the faith that has been passed down from generation to generation. And maybe you're the very first generation in your family to trust Christ. There is His promise; hold tight to it. In the Name + of Jesus. Amen. Our works cannot salvation gain; They merit only endless pain. Forgive us, Lord! To Christ we flee, Who pleads for us endlessly. Have mercy, Lord! (LSB 581:12)-Rev. Sometimes God's plans don't make sense to us, and they don't always line up with what we want. It's easy to say, “God's ways are not our ways,” but what do you do when His way feels completely opposite of what you had in mind? In this episode, we're diving into what rebellion against God really looks like—when He gives clear instructions, and we choose to do our own thing instead. I'm sharing practical ways to recognize rebellion, stop running from God, and finally step into full obedience.Key Scriptures Mentioned - Jonah Chapters 1-4Resources: Join The Waitlist For Dreaming To Achieving - https://expert-builder-3666.ck.page/dtawaitlistStart Your Own Podcast Course - https://www.skillshare.com/en/classes/How-To-Start-A-Podcast-For-Beginners/1142543427?teacherRef=958930354&via=teacher-referral&utm_campaign=teacher-referral-1142543427&utm_source=Skillshare&utm_medium=class-teacher-referral-emailThe Royal Faith Journal - https://prosperingwithchrist.systeme.io/theroyalfaithjournalProspering With Christ Facebook Group - https://www.facebook.com/groups/prosperingwithchristConnect With Us:Instagram | @ProsperingwithchristTiktok | @ProsperingwithchristYouTube | Prospering With ChristFacebook | Prospering With ChristMusic: Intro: Milkyway By Batik Music ( https://soundcloud.com/batikmusic/milkyway )

How do you Crazy Cool Parent that? This is a new phrase (maybe even a verb) we are going to start using. Our heart is to give ALL parents Kingdom tools to help them be the best parents they can be. Our topic today is... REBELLING KIDS – OH NO!!! HELP!!! Do you have a 3-year-old who throws fits and runs away? Are you at a loss of how to connect with your middle schooler about school, friends, and technology? Do you have a teenager who is distant and rebelling against your family's culture? Here are the main points from today's episode about “Rebelling Kids” Why do kids rebel in the first place? The world is appealing to our kids (and us) – what do we do about it? How to involve Jesus in your kids' lives and make Him appealing Rebellion provokes the “long game” in parenting How we draw our kids in and not push them away when they rebel The power of physical touch – it's an invitation for relationship! We discuss scriptures, personal relationship with Jesus, and how you as a parent can love your child right where they are. It's not about what you “should or shouldn't do.” Instead, we share practical ways you can reach your rebellious child. Pray – choose to fight for them in the unseen realm. Petition the Heavens for your children's hearts. Enlist your kids to pray for each other – there's so much power in prayer! Give encouragement and approval. Our kids long for our approval (even if they act like they don't care). Go out of your way to find things they are doing RIGHT and tell them every day. Draw them in with kind words. Correction is necessary if they are rebelling, but encouragement needs to abound all the more. Let natural consequence happen. Allow life's consequences to take their toll. Seek God on ways to not shelter your child from the world's hardships. This sounds backwards but when you let natural consequences run their course, you can come alongside them in the grief/pain and comfort them. We want our kids to have Godly sorrow which leads to repentance – changing their thinking/behavior. Choose to stay in the fight. Don't tap out and start ignoring your child when they start ignoring you. Press in and love them like Jesus would. Be radical in your parenting. Don't coddle but don't let them stray. Listen and share this with a friend who needs help with their rebelling child. Send us questions to podcast@crazycoolfamily.com if you have a specific situation, you want insight into. We are here for you! Let's go Crazy Cool Parent our rebelling kids

Imagine growing up in a life where, from your first memory, abuse was a daily part of life. Verbal, physical, sexual, drugs, alcohol. For Jennifer Granberg, it was a reality. Only her grandmother who was not a part of everyday life showed her any positive reinforcement. It's hard to imagine the mental anguish that created in her. In fact it pushed her to points even she can't believe. What is a true miracle is where she is now. It's hard to imagine surviving what she experienced. It's amazing to see how today she is thriving and sharing and helping as a counselor to other women who have been through it. Her story is so very sad and traumatic and at the same time, so powerful because of what she has overcome. Join me as Jennifer tells her story.
