It was the Summer of 2016 right after some killer shows at the Crom Comedy Festival in Denver where we sat down with Chris Gethard (literally sat outside of the theater, you'll see) and talked mostly about wrestling but a little about life and comedy. Check out his special/album Career Suicide and his podcast Beautiful Anonymous. Hell yeah.

We had the totally fun Jeremiah Coughlan (@haha_jcough, Crom Comedy Festival, Hudson Comedy Festival) and the amazingness that is Pauline Yasuda (@PaulineYasuda, California's Funniest Female Winner, The Bill Engvall Show) on the Big Pine Comedy Festival's live Thank You For Being a Podcast! We sat at Blendz in Flagstaff and watched the one where Dorothy tries to write a letter to her dead father, Sophia pretends to be possessed by Rose's late husband's ghost and Blanche coaches a baseball player with unorthodox methods. We talked about being 3/4 dead, Abbott and Costello's "relationship" and the enemies of wigs. Music by Mike Dennison (@mikd33) and Brian Kokernak (@kokernutz). Disclaimer: Genevieve's voice is a little low in this recording, but she is there! Just listen closely it's a fun episode.
George and Paco talk American politics with comedian Allen Strickland Williams. The strategies and rhetoric around campaigns, public debate, comedy in divided America, and the failures of the Left (ahem, Jon Ossoff) all come up in this discussion of Best Of Enemies.'Best of Enemies' is a documentary about the legendary series of nationally televised debates in 1968 between two great public intellectuals, the liberal Gore Vidal and the conservative William F. Buckley Jr. Intended as commentary on the issues of their day, these vitriolic and explosive encounters came to define the modern era of public discourse in the media, marking the big bang moment of our contemporary media landscape when spectacle trumped content and argument replaced substance. 'Best of Enemies' delves into the entangled biographies of these two great thinkers and luxuriates in the language and the theater of their debates, begging the question, 'What has television done to the way we discuss politics in our democracy today?'Allen Strickland Williams lives in Los Angeles writing and telling jokes. He's performed stand-up comedy on CONAN and was named one of Comedy Central’s Comics to Watch. Allen performed at South by Southwest, Moontower Comedy Festival, Funny or Die’s Oddball Comedy & Curiosity Festival, the Bridgetown Comedy Festival in Portland, CROM Comedy Festival in Omaha, Comedy Carnivale in Salt Lake City, Hell Yes Fest! in New Orleans, and the RIOT Festival in Los Angeles.Topics discussed:What It TakesBogeyman about Lee AtwaterHaskell Wexler - Medium CoolFollow us on:Twitter: @supdocpodcastInstagram: @supdocpodcastFacebook: @supdocpodcastsign up for our mailing listAnd you can show your support to Sup Doc by donating on Patreon.

This episode was recorded live from O'Leaver's Pub in Omaha, Nebraska, during the second annual Crom Comedy Festival! Dave is noticeably hungover and devoid all of nutrients in his diet. His guests were hometown hero and hilarious comedian, Ryan De La Garza, who outlined his fear that he may have a child somewhere in the world. Next came the undeniable Ben Kronberg, who discussed decision-making and an inability to do so, along with some not-so-subtle jabs at Roseanne. And finally, the Puterbaugh Sisters, a comic duo from Chicago who stole the festival for Dave with their stories of what they dislike about each other. Big ups to Ian Douglas Terry and the rest of OK Party Comedy for putting together such a magnificent festival.
Coming at you live from the Crom Comedy Festival in lovely Omaha, Nebraska I welcome Ben Kronberg, Ian Douglas Terry, Chris Charpentier, Dave Ross and Rory Scovel to the podcast. Feats of strength ensue.
