Comedian Rory Scovel has never really known what he was going to say when he walked onto the stand-up stage. But that all changed when he decided—20 years into his career—to finally do the “homework” of actually writing a complete and cohesive hour. The result is his new special, ‘Religion, Sex and a Few Things in Between,' which Scovel describes as the “tightest” set of material he's ever produced (and is streaming now on Max). In his return to the podcast for this bonus episode, Scovel discusses how this new approach changed his experience on stage, how he still strives to stay ultra-present in his work and why he has decided to lean into politics (with an eye on George Carlin) for his next act. "I think the first thing that you should do is not to do everything all at once. Start super, super, super, super small, do one thing and then gradually build. I've been doing 15 minute workouts every single day, and then the protein thing but another thing that you could do is listening to podcasts in the morning and doing ad from affirmations, getting your mindset straight. Because if you're in bed, hyping yourself up while you're getting ready, you're gonna conquer the day, like you're just going to conquer the day, I've always thought of the things that like working out, like doing good things that are that'll benefit me is just something that we have to do in life, but I get to work out. I get to go hunting, I get to do this. And it's why not why not do more? start out small off it doesn't work do something different"

In Moxielicious® episode 311, I'm joined by a true soul sister, Victoriya Scovel, as we chat about common mistakes coaches make – and what to do about them. When Victoriya (or Vic) is not exchanging Marco Polo messages with me in the middle of the night, she's the Head of Growth at Mindfulness.com and a Business Advisor who works with founders and visionary coaches and leaders who dream big, come up with millions of ideas per hour, and don't want to be put in a box. When something goes wrong, it's comedian Rory Scovel's fault. Or at least that's how he seems to feel most of the time. That said, it's hard to believe Scovel is capable of doing any wrong. In addition to being incredibly funny, he's just so darn likeable.
