It's me ... hi ... wanna go for coffee? When was the last time we asked ourselves this question - particularly in a moment of challenge or struggle when we know something just is not right within us. Join CH this week as she expands on a notion shared in our previous episode as to the importance of checking in with ourselves when we are really going through it - whatever “it” might be. And, that the buck up buttercup approach is not necessarily the best choice when taking care of our mental health. Show Notes For those who missed our previous episode, CH's friend Nathan is on a journey to becoming a yoga therapist; you can learn more about him via his Web site: YogaHausNW.com The episode of Station 19 that CH references is Episode 8 of Season 6 called “I Know a Place." The episode showcases a key chapter of Lt. Maya Bishop's mental health healing journey as portrayed by actor Danielle Savre. This week, Tommy is joined by actress and director Danielle Savre, who stars in the ABC hit drama, Station 19. The wildly popular series is a spin-off of the critically acclaimed Grey's Anatomy and is heading into its seventh season this spring. Station 19 revolves around a group of interesting and complex firefighters navigating their way through high-stakes rescues while balancing the highs and lows of their personal lives, and Danielle brings the role of Maya Bishop to life flawlessly. Danielle opens up about how deeply connected she is to this role, what being in a same-sex relationship on primetime television has meant to her, how she has been processing the news of the series cancellation, the one item she hopes to take home from set when the series is over, the piece of advice she would tell herself at this very moment of her life, how she tackles those emotional scenes, and her deep love for the Station 19 fandom. 2023. Not the best of year for us ... and for many that we know. But with one inspirational holiday text from her good friend, Nathan, CH reframes her look back on a challenging year, finds the light within, and looks ahead to 2024. Show Notes CH's visions for 2024 (which some might call resolutions) are as follows: To remember to turn on the light (cue Albus Dumbledore) To find the joy in the simplest things To dream big To believe in the kindness of strangers To trust the path To not succumb to fear, worry or doubt To return to favorite places and perhaps find new ones To be present in the moment and enjoy the space in that moment - however it may be defined The Happy Holidays message featuring actress Danielle Savre's (Maya Bishop) inclusive combination of Christmas, Hanukkah and Kwanza into a single word can be found on this reel via the official Station 19 Instagram page.
Tiffany dialled in from Germany to tell us about meeting Danielle Savre, Stefania Spampinato, Grey Damon, and Alberto Frezza in Milan, before heading out to convention number two in Paris. Because it's Melissa and Tiffany you won't be surprised to hear that it descended into (manageable) chaos, so be prepared for more anatomy of an orange, whether or not Melissa has gay panic over a certain Italian (spoiler alert, it's not Alberto), surprise bathroom meetings, and a cameo from the OG herself, "Mutti" Elke.
**CONTENT WARNING** This episode of Station 19 deals with the very important but very sensitive subject of suicide. If you feel able, join Tiffany and Melissa as they discuss Barrett Doss and Josh Randall's fantastic work, as well as the lighter, more fun, aspects of this episode, and, of course, Danielle Savre's biceps!
Tiffany and Melissa couldn't wait to talk about Danielle Savre's directorial debut (they hide it well, but they're big fans of Danielle's) even though they were missing one of their favourite parts of the show...
Phil and Kenny would be the perfect hosts, except for one small thing...they're dead! Luckily for us, actresses Barrett Doss and Danielle Savre (Station 19) are here to hold them up and keep this party rolling as we cover WEEKEND AT BERNIE'S.We discuss how the disturbing premise is overturned by a charming execution, how the 80s were the golden years of credits sequences, and how women led comedies never get to be this insane. Come for the conversation about a dead man's party, and stay for the 15 minute detour on the brat pack!Find Danielle at: dsavre.comFind Barrett at: twitter.com/barrett_dossPodcast Like It's 1999: podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/podcast-like-its-1999/id1316214754Twitter: twitter.com/podcastlike1999Instagram: instagram.com/podcastlike1999Reddit: reddit.com/r/podcastlikeits Hosted on Acast. Isn’t it delightful when you meet your soulmate? And isn’t it just rude when they refuse to leave their significant other for you? In THE PERFECT STALKER (2016), starring Danielle Savre, Jefferson Brown, and Krista Morin, we meet a woman who is so determined to win over her unavailable crush that she hatches a brilliant plan involving an imaginary stalker, some phony answering machine messages, and just a little bit of murder. We also discuss which Lifetime characters we’d like to bang, invent a new interrogation tactic that combines waterboarding with motorboating, and receive a Billy update. This episode is dedicated to the eternal memory of Rachel’s purrfect cat Pierce, the John Wayne of cats. This movie is available to view on the Lifetime Movie Club app. January is National Stalking awareness month, so every movie we review during this time will be centered around stalking. Films and television often exhibit this topic in a ridiculous or glamorized way, when in reality it is a frightening, invasive, and sometimes even deadly offense that is often dismissed or ignored completely. If you or anyone you know is a victim of stalking, there are resources available. Phil and Kenny would love to do a podcast about The Bone Collector, but a terrible accident has befallen them, so in their stead, they’ve enlisted rookie podcaster, Danielle Savre (Station 19), to do all of the work for them! Is Danielle up to the daunting task of discussing the odd and questionable chemistry between Denzel Washington and Angelina Jolie? Will she buckle under the pressure of dissecting the film’s byzantine plot? Is she going to persevere as the podcast gets into dark, spooky and potentially deadly territory? Can she handle ranking a film on a scale from 0-99 for the first time in her life?! Tune in to find out the answers to all of these cliffhangers and more as the crew Collects Some Bones!
Danielle Savre is an actress from Simi Valley in the midst of performing one of the biggest roles of her career. She currently stars as Maya Bishop on the Grey's Anatomy spinoff Station 19. Danielle believes she was born to act; a notion that is supported by a long list of notable film and television credits. Entertainment outlets everywhere are raving that Danielle is one of Hollywood's rising stars. Full show notes available at http://ktla.com/SpokenDreams.
Actress Danielle Savre plays a firefighter in the new "Grey's Anatomy" spinoff called "Station 19." She didn't have to look far to draw inspiration for the role as Maya Bishop. Her real-life sister Stephanie is a firefighter in Los Angeles and is someone she really looks up to. To quote Danielle, "she's a badass." When filming for the show -- Danielle says she prefers to wear the full, heavy firefighter gear (to fully commit) and gets little nuggets of information for the role from her sister and the firefighters advising on set. "I love racking their brains, and even stories that they didn't think would be important, for me as an actor, I'm like, 'No tell me these things!'" Danielle joined me on Olympic & Bundy to talk about the new “Station 19” series premiering March 22, her upcoming movie "Deep Blue Sea 2" that was shot in South Africa, growing up in Simi Valley, her audition process and more. Welcome to the first installment in our "Spoiler Surpreme" semi-spinoff series! Once every couple of episodes, we'll be having more in-depth discussions about certain films . . . and spoiling the mess out of them in the process, so listeners beware! . . . Still with us? GREAT!!!! For our first Spoiler Supreme episode, we'll be talking about 2015's Adulterers, written and directed by H.M. Coakley, and starring Sean Farris, Mechad Brooks, and Danielle Savre. Apparently, a lot of folks who have seen this have been beating themselves senseless over its bizarre plot and ending, and we definitely try our best to dissect this southern fried tale of marital infidelity, as Sam (Sean Farris) comes home to find his wife (Danielle Savre) having sex with another man (Mechad Brooks).
