There’s this rumor going around that distance runners are more prone to developing arthritis, a medical condition from by the Greek word “arthro” meaning joint and “itis” meaning inflammation. Many non-runners and medical laypersons have assumed that the constant repetitive pounding forces on our joints, especially in the knees, as we run are too much for our bodies to absorb. In this weeks episode I’ll go through some of the scientific medical research on the subject and present an answer to the question: are runners at higher risk for developing arthritis? NOTE: I didn’t want to make a huge deal out of it during this episode, but this marks my fourth year producing Phedippidations and I wanted to be sure to thank you, at least here in the show notes, for your friendship, kindness and support over these past 1,461 days since episode #1. It continues to be an honor to run with you. Run long and taper! - Steve Show Links:Fdip Blog of the Week: Featured PodCast: “Run Yank Run”The song “Down to the Bone” by Edwin Holt

Dave is having a bad day. The holidays are taking its toll. He pulls out his blue "Attitude is everything" card, but even that won't work. However, dating a nurse has its positive effects as he talks about what a really bad day is. My Attitude is EverythingI will not let anyone steal my joy I will not let anyone or anything impact my positive attitude I will overcome, overpower, and overturn all obstacles I can and will handle the challenge I will look further than my vision because I will work by faith, not by sight. I will dream BIG DREAMS. I will be positive. I will move with a sense of urgency and stay committed to my goals. I will check and recheck, balance and counterbalance, reassure and be measured to the highest standard of excellence. I will not give up, let up or look up to the fear of defeat. I will never forget wo I am, where I cam from. I realize this day, this moment, is truly a blessing. My Attitude... is Everything! www.keithharrell.com Music Steal Away by Edwin Holt purchase at CDBaby.com

As close to a theme show as we ever come in The Roadhouse, this edition features great guitar cuts from heavy overdrive to sweet slide. It's a reminder of the amazing emotion to be coaxed from a slab of wood and six strands of wire. Guitar Shorty, Kelly Richey, Janiva Magness, Rita Chiarelli, and Edwin Holt take the wheel, bringing along seven other artists on the tour bus. The Roadhouse Rewound and a little commerce talk round out the show as we fuel the trip with wire and wood. 35 editions deep, it's still the finest blues you've never heard.
