"I needed to have the year I had to really give me the push to make the changes I made." In 2022, Sinclaire Johnson cemented her spot as a middle-distance rising star when she broke the women's 1500m tape at the U.S. National Championships. Since then, the Nike-sponsored athlete has made a lot of changes on the run. She transitioned from Jerry Schumacher's Bowerman Track Club to Union Athletics Club, where she was coached by Pete Julian. Last year — a year when she finished fourth in the 1500m at the Olympic Track & Field Trials — Sinclaire knew it was time to change it up again, this time opting to forgo a team environment and be coached by her fiancé, Craig Nowak. Now, with a fresh 3:56 1500m PR from the 2024 Trials, Sinclaire is in the middle of her indoor season. She ran a personal best in the mile (4:23.58) at New Balance Indoor Grand Prix, where she finished third, and then finished sixth in the Wanamaker Mile at the Millrose Games in New York City. This weekend, Sinclaire will race at U.S. Indoor Nationals.  FOLLOW SINCLAIRE @sinclairejohnson SPONSORS:  St. Jude Rock 'n' Roll Nashville: Register for the marathon, half marathon, 10K, 5K, 1 mile, KiDSROCK, or Doggie Dash, all taking place April 26–27, 2025 in Music City, USA! In her first few years as a professional athlete, Gabbi Jennings has quickly earned and solidified her spot as one to watch in the 3000m Steeplechase. That's super steady. At some point it was going to be reflected in one big performance. It didn't happen overnight." In March 2023, Erika Kemp was gearing up to make her marathon debut. The six-time collegiate All-American and multiple-time USATF national champion was on a racing hot streak, having earned titles from the 5K up to the 20K. She had just signed with Brooks Running, and was being coached by Kurt Benninger. We talked about her career, her life and even where we all feel AI & Tech is going within the entertainment industry.About On The Run: The indie horror thriller follows two sisters, Kayla and Paige Jones, who are polar opposites. While Kayla (Sofia Masson) wants to follow in the footsteps of their mother to become a teacher, Paige (Taylor Geare) wants nothing more than to leave their small desert town to forge her own path. After their mother is murdered, the sisters discover that they have been in Witness Protection ever since their father betrayed Vince (William Mark McCullough), the president of The Inferno Risers motorcycle club who is now out of prison and seeking vengeance against the family. Kayla and Paige soon find themselves on the run across the Southwest and, with no one left to protect them, quickly realize that they can only rely on each other to save their sisterhood. The movie is set to premiere on Tubi August 17th. Hays has made a name for herself in the horror genre. Blood, Sweat, and Cheer was recently included in Vulture's list of Top Ten Best Tubi Original Movies which you can see here. Her most recent film My Bloody Galentine chronicled three women (Ella Rae-Smith, Cassie Clare, and Miriam-Teak Lee) who plot revenge on their exes after they are dumped before Valentine's Day, which quickly turns deadly. The movie was recently featured on Creepy Catalog's list of 75+ Best (and worst) Horror Movies of 2024

Tread Perilously engages in a normal human podcast by watching an episode of What We Do In The Shadows called "On The Run." When a mysterious vampire tracks down Laszlo over the matter of an ancient debt, he abandons his life on Staten Island to become "Jackie Daytona" -- a beloved local fixture and bar owner in Pennsylvania. Much to his surprise, Jackie becomes invested in the success of a nearby high school varsity volleyball team. But when the vampire who forced Laszlo to flee rolls into town, will Jackie walk away just when the volleyball team needs him most? Meanwhile, Colin Robinson makes an awkward proposition. Erik tells the tale of his conversion to a What We Do In the Shadows fan. The pair debate how to say Mark Proksch's last name. Justin enjoys Harvey Guillén's weariness as Guillermo while Erik ends up really taking to the styles of Proksch, Natasia Demetriou, and Matt Berry. Mark Hamill also proves to be a great guest star. The actual placement of the episode in the show's history becomes something of a mystery. Justin tries very hard to remember George Lopez's name. Tom Baker is invoked, Tom Bombadil news is discussed, and the episode's would-be Bella ends up a highlight ... even as it leads to a chat about Mark Brendanawicz.

A "it's not enough" or "qualified enough" or "good enough" or "significant enough" mindset, so don't do it. And I remind myself that tomorrow is not guaranteed, so JUST DO IT. I thought "40 isn't that big of a milestone", I should wait till 50 or some other time to share the things I've learned. But the winter is my time to try to cut back on travel (I don't know if I've been "traveling a lot this year" or straight up "ON THE RUN" this year). It's felt fast and furious and I've been traveling in a way that sometimes felt like I couldn't catch my breath. This is my time to rest, reflect and slow down (just a tiny bit). Here's what's on my mind...

Unexpected with Hannah Love

Today, we are going to step over into the next season of David's life I like to call: On The Run. I felt like it was appropriate. From experience, I can say there is usually a time we all feel like we are on the run from something. It might even be God you're running from! Like the call on your life is so overwhelming you just... run away. Out of fear. Out of intimidation. And frankly, out of feeling like you aren't qualified for any of it. Others of you may be pursing God's calling on your life but you feel the enemy coming against you. Maybe today, you're even on the run from all of the attacks the enemy has brought against you and your family and your future. Maybe you're just plain tired. Relentless warfare is a tactic from the enemy. He loves to pursue us. Why? Because if he is successful, we will be too tired to pursue our God-given purpose. This is where David finds himself. Running. Not from God but from the enemy. Let me reason some scripture here to set the scene... 1 Samuel 18:1-30 Okay, so, here's my ‘cliff's notes' version of David's story. David was likely around 15 years old or so when God sent Samuel to anoint him as the future king... It was a few years later, in his late teens, that David killed Goliath and entered into the service of King Saul. So, this put David around 20 years old. At this point, he had entered into the kings household, and served for some years. Again, this is all time of preparation for what comes next for young David. During this time, he plays the lyre for Saul, and when he comes of age, begins leading men in his army. He eventually became a successful warrior and even married one of Saul's daughters. This is where things get hairy. King Saul couldn't control his jealousy any longer. Overtaken by an evil spirit, Saul attacked David while he was serving the king! David fleas... This marked the beginning of a new season. A season of running. For the remainder of 1 Samuel (at least 12 more chapters), David ran for his life. I encourage you to read these chapters for yourself, because they are seriously full of action and intrigue.. We won't have time today, though. Rather, I will share this. When David fled, he hid and gathered a group of followers. These were battle tough men who rallied behind him and fought for him. For years, David and his men were in constant motion, hiding from Saul's army, running all over the country, hiding in towns and caves and anywhere they could to keep moving. During this time (and on two separate occasions), David was within striking distance of Saul and spared his life. Remember, David had a heart after God's own.. He dared not take the life of a man God had once anointed. Simultaneously during this time David and his men were also out fighting (and destroying) enemy forces. Not only was David fighting other battles while he ran from King Saul, but King Saul was also at war with surrounding countries. Honestly...there's about 10 chapters of just running and fighting and more fighting! There was a fight everywhere you looked. So when David wasn't busy running for his life from Saul, he was busy fighting for his life against other enemies.. As weary as he must have been though, his reputation was growing... as well as the support of the people. After years of this nonstop warring and pursuit, King Saul is eventually wounded in battle against the Philistines. Rather than be overtaken by the enemy, he falls on his own sword, taking his life. At long last.. Saul was dead. The running was over. And a new season...was about to begin. Thank you to our sponsor! NIV Journal the Word Bible published by Zondervan. SCARED TO DEATH IS EXPLICIT IN EVERY WAY. PLEASE TAKE CARE WHILE LISTENING. Dan's first story is mostly set in a hotel located somewhere we aren't sure. Whoever posted this tale never gave an exact location and there are several hotels around the country that have had the name “Sunway Hotel.” It's a nice twist on the creepy haunted hotel story.  The next story is about a mythical creature from Mayan mythology - the Alux, a creepy little creature some people still believe in - like the current President of Mexico. Lynze has three stories, each on the shorter side, which makes them pack a fast paced punch. Her first tale explores ghosts in the graveyard, then she guides us to a hostel for a spoopy tale and then she rounds out the episode with a strange story that is hard to explain without giving it away!New Merch:  A killer new Wendigo design now available in store. "Those were the darkest and hardest days of my life, and the biggest thing that I would do differently is I would ask for help. Instead, I hid, I locked that apartment door, and I wouldn't let anyone see me." Last week, in honor of Crohn's and Colitis Awareness Week, I talked about living with these diseases for the past 30 years. (Listen to that episode here.) Now, I'm wrapping things up by talking about running with Crohn's disease, navigating the emotional and mental sides of this disease (trigger warning here: lots of talk of depression and being in a really low, dark place), and how to support the people in your life living with a chronic illness. Plus, my hotel lobby hack (that rarely works, but I always try!), my fear of trail cams and small-town Facebook groups, and so much more.
