This week on the show Maine and Josh preview Gordon Ryan vs. Vagner Rocha on Who is Number One (WNO) and recap fight2win 167 we also preview fight to win 168.In the news section of the show we discuss some upcoming cards including the release of the Third Coast grappling heavyweight GP bracket, and EUG inaugural event.In our recap of Fight to Win 167 we discuss Victor Hugo heel hook victory over Tim Spriggs Heel Hook, and some of the things about the match that surprised us.  We talked about the foot finishing position and some of the defense that went into this match. In Gabriel Sousa vs Osvaldo Moizinho we discussed the slams and intricate grip fighting that took place throughout this bout and Maine talks about wanting Sousas Gi. In the Thiago Macedo vs Cole Franson we discuss headhunting and the fast-paced kept throughout this match as well as a no arm triangle Thiago  attempted in the closing moments of the match.  In the Jake Watson Pedro Marinho match we discuss Pedro making his black belt debut and the Dynamics of the match between Jake Watson's Gi game omoplata attempts, and pacing of the match.  We talked about the foot lock attempts from Pedro, and our thoughts on the decision. We also discuss David Garmo submission hunting Style and Hasim Rida  performance on the card.In our preview of Who is Number One Gordon Ryan vs Vagner Rocha We talked about the rematch between these two men and the great countdown video that was produced ahead of the matchup we discuss Gordon's Pathways to Victory and potentially what this matchup means.In our preview of Nick Rodriguez vs Yuri Simoes  we talked about having not seen Rodriguez for some time and question what skills he has been working on in that time we discuss Yuri's accolades and game planning as well as the wrestling exchanges we foresee in this match we also discussed some of the Guard work we believe Yuri may have an edge in. In Mikey Musumeci vs Marcelo Cohen We discuss this being Mikey's first match No-Gi since 2016 and talk about his potential training situation currently,  we discuss his accolades and potentially where he may have some problems with Marcelo.For Maggie Grindatti vs Rafaela Guedes we discuss the potential difficulties for Maggie leading into this match with Rafaela’s recent streak of competition, coupled with her ability to play a multitude of different game plans.In Johnny Tama vs Oliver Taza we discussed the size discrepancy in this matchup and potentially how much weight Oliver Taza we'll need to drop we discuss the foot lock  back and forth battles that we could see and how all of hers bottom game couples with Tama passing. Also on the show we discussed the return of the all women's event for fight to win 168 headlined by Nathiely De Jesus vs Kendall Reusing, In this match we discuss how good De Jesus  has looked and talk about her recent victory over Gabi Garcia,  we talked about how Kendall may decide to use her stand up and wrestling in the bout. We also discuss Luiza Monteiro vs Vedha Toscano taking place in the gi, a match between Maria Malyjasiak vs Hannette Staack, and a rematch between Amanda "Tubby" Alequin vs Gabi Mccomb.In the outro section Josh talks about his new dog and Maine talks about the lead up to surgery. Recorded 3-21-2021

Hannette Staack, Co-founder of Brazil - 021 School of Jiu-Jitsu, will be one of the instructors at the 2020 Roll Model Women’s Only Grappling Camp in Indianapolis. She is a fourth-degree black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. In this episode we talk about the challenges of competing while running a school, overcoming injuries, and turning something bad into something good. Hannette’s first big moment came in 2002 when after five fights she won her first world championship in the women’s purple/brown/black belt combined division. Since then, Hannette has fought every World Championship, taking six gold medals home in and establishing herself as one of the most tenacious and talented female grapplers in the history of jiu-jitsu. The mission of Brazil-021 School of Jiu-Jitsu seeks much more than winning competition medals.
