In this Advent message, Pastor Thomas opens the season by taking us back to God's covenant with David—one of the most significant promises in the entire storyline of Scripture. In a world exhausted by failed leaders, political polarization, and deep cultural cynicism, this passage meets us with a different kind of hope: the promise of a perfect, eternal King.Tracing the biblical story from Genesis to Revelation, Thomas shows how every earthly king—from Saul to Solomon to David himself—proves unable to carry the weight of our longing. But in 2 Samuel 7, God announces a King who will—a Son He will raise up, a house He will build, and a throne He will establish forever. That promise echoes through the prophets, breaks into history at Bethlehem, and rises in full splendor in the book of Revelation, where the Son of David is revealed as the Lion, the Lamb, and the King of kings. This sermon explores four scenes in the Davidic Covenant:The King God establishes, the House God builds, the Son God gives, and the Kingdom God secures forever. And it brings this ancient promise down into the realities of everyday life—our fear, our longing for stability, our loss of control, and our need for hope that won't collapse under pressure.Advent reminds us that the King we need is the King God gives. He comes in humility, reigns in righteousness, and returns in glory. His throne isn't up for grabs. His reign can't be overturned. And His kingdom—begun in Bethlehem and consummated in Revelation—is the unshakeable hope believers stand on today. If you're longing for stability in an unstable world, this message will lift your eyes to the only King who cannot fail—and who invites you into His kingdom by grace.

"The House God Built", This week Craig Ford looks at David's offer to build a house for God, and God's surprising answer. November 16, 2025
This week, Elder Andy Leisewitz continues in our ZEAL FOR GOD'S HOUSE series, teaching on our identity as God's people and the New Testament church, created and called to live as a people set apart for Him.
Is your house God's house? That question really got me this week. I was reading in Titus 1, where Paul is laying out the qualities of someone who manages God's household. And it made me stop and think: if Caryn and I want our home to belong to the Lord, what kind of qualities should I be living out as the one leading it?

Growing up, many of us learned that Christianity was about escaping this world for heaven and following the one narrow path to God. But what if we've misunderstood Jesus's message? In this eye-opening talk, Pastor Anthony Parrott explores how Jesus redefined God's "house," challenged religious exclusivity, and revealed a divine love that works more like gravity than a gatekeeper. Whether you're deconstructing your faith or just questioning traditional interpretations, this fresh perspective on John 14 offers a more beautiful and expansive way of understanding God's presence in our world today.

1 Peter 2:4-8
This week, guest preacher, Rigby Wallace, speaks to us about a house founded on God's scandalous grace, God's lavish generosity and God's wise sovereignty.
Isaiah 22:22 –“Then I will set the key of the house of David on his shoulder, when he opens no one will shut, when he shuts no one will open.” Please note that the 1st part is in English, and the 2nd part is in Malayalam starting at 14:15 mark mark. The key of the house of David represents God's governance, specifically His governance over Israel. The Bible even names the royal throne, the throne on which David and Solomon sat, as “the throne of the Lord” (1st Chronicles 29:23 & 2nd Chronicles 9:8). God gives authority to whoever He pleases. It refers to the authority of David's descendants to the throne of Israel. Next, it refers to the authority of Jesus over the house of David. Jesus is a descendant of David too. Jesus Christ is the ultimate recipient of the Key of David's house. The righteous kingship of Jesus in Zion will take place for 1000 years. The only person in authority in the whole world will be Jesus. Whoever is dear to Jesus also gets the key of the house of David. By getting the key of the house of David, we partake in the supreme authority of Jesus to govern in his earthly kingdom and heavenly kingdom. Also, it refers to the authority of Jesus over God's kingdom. The benefits of getting the key of the House of David and how we can get the key of the House of David are discussed. My name... Today's key passage of Scripture contains a very famous verse. It says, “But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord” (Joshua 24:15). Can you imagine what could happen in this country if every family made that decision? Do you think the crime rate would go down? Do you think our jails would be emptier? Do you think our marriages might be stronger? Do you think schools would be safer? Joshua shares with his people that he is going to lead his family to do three things with all his might and power. I would encourage every family and every household head to give this same direction, make this same decision, and have this same determination for your family.

For many of us, mid-August means summer is coming to a close. We're planning for back-to-school or fall work projects. As we prepare to resume busier schedules and stricter routines, we're going to spend the next few weeks on the Max Lucado Encouraging Word Podcast talking about God's plan for home and family. More outside demands for our time and attention makes now a great time to remember that the family is God's idea, and in our homes, he does his most sanctifying work.

For the potential Elder/Shepherd, what is true in YOUR house will be true in GOD'S House. That is, it is fair game to look at the management and instructional content of his home to get a glimpse of whether he will be a good manager/teacher in the church.Specifically, the ask is whether SUBMISSION has been a LIFE SKILL that he has committed his family to. It is a critical life skill that is important in students, in soldiers, in workers, in Christians, in citizens and in a number of relationships in the home.Submission is the voluntary attachment under a designated person in a designated role, that demonstrates the posture of an internal adornment before God. If you get this, and it can be demonstrated in your home, you might just be a good pastor.Bewithme.us bewithme.us@gmail.com Any podcast provider.
