Deep down, you want more than anything to be a good man. A man of courage and self-discipline. Of character and integrity. Of wisdom, insight, and faith. You want to be the kind of man your friends and family can count on when life is tough. You’re eager to see admiration in your wife’s eyes and joy in your kids when you walk through the door. Yet with all the pressures and shame you feel from inside and the world around you, you feel far from the man you wish you could be. Joining Rob and his son Josh today, guest Nathan Clarkson offers a signpost to point the way to becoming a good man. With honesty and insight, he helps men to understand: What inspired Nathan to write about the issues men face How men “living wrongly” affect everyone in their life Why men are losing their identity in our culture The powerful role of community and friendship in men’s lives The way to become the hero of your own life story How sexuality can be restored to the rightness of God’s design How to instill “good man” qualities into your son Nathan Clarkson (https://www.clarksonfamily.com/nathan) is an actor, author, filmmaker, artist, poet, and full-time wannabe philosopher. He is the coauthor of the bestselling book Different and has acted in numerous popular TV shows and films. Nathan lives in New York City but can often be found in Los Angeles, Colorado Springs, or adventuring around the country and world speaking and sharing his passion for helping people better know their Creator and the story He has for them to tell. Josh Teigen is Rob’s oldest son and the husband of four years to his wife, Cassie. Since pursuing studies in psychology and theology, Josh is an active volunteer and leader at his local church. He founded the nonprofit organization Banner Media (bannermediagroup.org), whose mission is to create high-quality digital media that shares powerful, personal testimonies of God engaging with people today. To win your own copy of Nathan’s latest book, “Good Man: An Honest Journey into Discovering Who Men Were Actually Created to Be,” leave a comment with your name and GOOD MAN. You’ll be entered in a drawing with the winner chosen on January 31, 2021. This podcast is produced and edited by Angie Elkins Media, Inc.
In this episode of Connect the Dots, host Rob Verchick discusses one of the more perplexing challenges facing those working to mitigate climate disruption: industrial workers, the people laboring in factories, farms, coal mines, and other businesses directly affecting or affected by the climate crisis. On the one hand, industrial workers need jobs. They depend on these jobs to feed their families and support themselves. On the other hand, they’re suffering because of it. So is our planet. The industrial worker tends to work long hours under harsh conditions. Many struggle to make ends meet. Due to climate breakdown, these working conditions and spaces have become grave. They’re hot, toxic, and frequently unregulated. Going to work can be unbearable at times, and as a result, not only livelihoods but lives are at stake. The conflict of the industrial worker presents a tough duality: an appeal to restore health and salvage the Earth versus the need to sustain a living. Can both be achieved? The answer is yes, with some caveats and conditions. Listen now to find out more. Joining Rob in this episode are: Neza Xiuhtecutli, Research Coordinator for the Farmworkers Association of Florida Leslie Fields, Senior Director of Environmental Justice and Healthy Communities at the Sierra Club Maxine Burkett, Member Scholar of Center for Progressive Reform and Professor of Law at the University of Hawaii Vicki Arroyo, Executive Director of the Georgetown Climate Center Dr. Aaron Bernstein, Interim Director of the Center for Climate, Health, and the Global Environment at Harvard University

It’s one of the most talked about games of the year, a swan song for the current generation of consoles from one of the most lauded AAA developers. So of course we here at Waypoint Radio spent nearly 6 hours carefully and thoroughly dissecting why, despite almost universal acclaim, we found the game lacking in the way it presents it’s story, the narrative pitfalls it continually runs afoul of, and some of the real world parallels that didn’t sit right with us. Joining Rob, Patrick, and Cado are special guests Emanuel Maiberg from Motherboard, and Maddy Myers from Polygon, both here to finally get it all out, and put this all behind us.Articles discussed:https://www.washingtonpost.com/graphics/2020/video-games/news/the-last-of-us-part-2-ellie-evolution/ See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

For over fifty years, the beautiful voice of Carol Lawrence has filled our hearts. No one will capture the love, yearning, and heart break of Maria, the doomed heroine in West Side Story, better than the actress who originated the role: Carol Lawrence. Joining Rob and Kevin from her home in California, Carol talks about the power of West Side Story, what it was like working with Jerome Robbins, and how the theatre still has the power to heal all souls.
This month, the team – with a slight change of line-up – sat down for a chat with Pat Symonds. Pat's returning to the F1 pitlane with Marussia this year, a place he hasn't seen since 2009. After the pre-season tests, he was primed to give his opinion on which teams could impress at the start of the season... and which may not. He also talks about 2014's regulation shake-up and the differences between working in the modern age and his early days with Toleman. Joining Rob and Nigel for the first time is Motor Sport veteran Simon Arron. Or, as Rob calls him, 'The Encyclopaedia'. See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
