To be honest, I created the Happy House Classics for myself and was using it as a stop-gap between posts. However, the traffic numbers on the volume 1 episode are through the roof! I look at Google traffic, Podbean, Apple Music, and Google Play stats to paint a full picture and it's outstanding. I guess I wasn't the only one that needed a boost of sunshine. It's a good thing I made two of these to maintain the high. Party Favorz has a big week in store for everyone. Rick is heading out of town for company training so I'll have a lot of time to myself (barring the needs of our children; Kirby, Jackson, and Katherine our two dogs and cat). I plan on posting the Jocelyn Brown Diva Series I teased a week ago and part 2 of the Winter Edition which has come out better than expected. Be on the lookout for those to drop soon. After the roller coaster that has been my summer, I knew one of the only ways to get me through it was to continue mixing and to provide you all a new mix of fantastic music to get your dance floor moving! So here it is, my mix for August 2010. Like my summer, this mix is full of ups, downs and loop the loops that comprise over an hours worth of Funky, Progressive and 'Hands-in-the-air' tunes to hopefully bring this summer of love back to an all new high! Including a 2010 mix of Joey-Negros classic 'Make a Move on Me', a heart rendering progressive-trance tune called 'Save Me' the Hed Kandi smash 'Out of Love' and then finally culminating with the new Freemasons track 'Believer' This mix is definitely one of the most emotional ones I've done to date - Hence it's title! It's almost Summer, which means it's about time to get out in the sun! Here's a little funky house goodness for your pool-side partaking. Lots of fun, happy stuff here. I tried to keep it a little more on-point this year. No Gaga this time, kiddies, although she does make a brief cameo appearance (and don't give me any of that Alejandro static). I did have my hand in putting together one of these songs. A little while back, Edson Pride released a somewhat Circuity mix of Groove Is in the Heart. I immediately purchased it, only to find out it was barely even a dub. Not really any vocals to speak of. Now, there was no way I could let that happen to such as fun and happy song as Groove, so I took a recent remake and parts of the original and threw them all together. I think the results are quite entertaining in my "groovy mashup". My favorite new song on this mix would have to be Alexis Jordan - Happiness. I really like the song and its lyrics. Very uplifting. I was waiting -- in anxious anticipation -- for Dave Audé's remix. I heard a sample and knew it was going to turn out really well. When I finally obtained the full version, it exceeded my expectations. Such a nicely done, pretty production by him and the bridge gives me goose bumps every time (I did throw in a little more "sparkle", for good measure). It seems he is just at the top of his game these days. This song, to say the least, makes me very, well, "happy". I always like to end my Sun mixes with a little bit of old-school disco. Anyone that knows me well, knows me and my relationship with "the Cake". By "the Cake", I mean Donna Summer's remake of the song MacArthur Park. A few months back, I had ran across a rare, different disco version of it by a different group (at least, that I had never heard and I'm a disco fanboy). I was all planning on using it to end this mix. That is, until it was a suggested by a friend that if I was going to end the mix with "the Cake", why not use the Queen's version? Well, I decided since I haven't ever used it before, I would finally bring it out to play. So Donna makes her appearance in the full 18-minute suite. Hopefully one day she'll find that recipe... only "heaven knows." As I get myself back on track, I decided to put out what would have been the last mix next.  Why?  Because I live for fun, funky house music.  It'll "lift you up, spin you around.make you feel like you never did before."  Besides, what's a good Pride collection without T-Dance?  Handpicked by yours truly, these are some of the very best in funky house that had my brain on constant repeat during the winter and spring.  Many of the gems included here like Maiysha's "Chase" and Lisa Mack's "Kiss Me" didn't quite receive the attention I felt they deserved.  Since I realize that my best of comps get a lot of attention, this is my chance to bring these to a wider audience.  One listen and I think you'll agree. It's hard to make any promises about the two remaining mixes, but for the BPM crowd, I've already completed the tracklist and just need to start working it out.  I'll try to have one out tomorrow, but don't hold me two it.  Frankly, I've been so busy I really need to finish these up so I can take an extended break before I jump in with July.  I will let you know that I've got a lot of great stuff lined up for the month.  You'll be getting the next BPM, T-Dance and Summer Editions in no particular order.  It' all depends on what I'm expecting to be released and when it actually comes out. As I get myself back on track, I decided to put out what would have been the last mix next.  Why?  Because I live for fun, funky house music.  It'll "lift you up, spin you around.make you feel like you never did before."  Besides, what's a good Pride collection without T-Dance?  Handpicked by yours truly, these are some of the very best in funky house that had my brain on constant repeat during the winter and spring.  Many of the gems included here like Maiysha's "Chase" and Lisa Mack's "Kiss Me" didn't quite receive the attention I felt they deserved.  Since I realize that my best of comps get a lot of attention, this is my chance to bring these to a wider audience.  One listen and I think you'll agree. It's hard to make any promises about the two remaining mixes, but for the BPM crowd, I've already completed the tracklist and just need to start working it out.  I'll try to have one out tomorrow, but don't hold me two it.  Frankly, I've been so busy I really need to finish these up so I can take an extended break before I jump in with July.  I will let you know that I've got a lot of great stuff lined up for the month.  You'll be getting the next BPM, T-Dance and Summer Editions in no particular order.  It' all depends on what I'm expecting to be released and when it actually comes out. Originally this was going to be a three mix set.  I had thrown in some experimental house into the mixes that I really enjoyed but was concerned that many of you may not be ready to go on that journey with me just yet.  Besides, this has been one of the longest winters in recent memory and I think people need a healthy dose of summer to help improve their mindset.  However, I did manage to keep a few songs that I think you can easily digest.  Whether it's the jazzy renderings of Kerri Chandler's "Track 1 Revisited", the Earth, Wind & Fire stylized "Higher High" by Ralf Gum and Daniel Thomas or the all-out disco romp of Liquid Gold's "Dance Yourself Dizzy" these are all elements I have not used before and there are certainly more twists in the second take of this set scheduled for a Saturday release.  Nevertheless, they all gel quite well into this stylized funky and soulful set that will have you relaxing one minute and up on your feet the next.  There are no losers here, just pure joy! I did want to make one little side note about the Liquid Gold song.  LG was a disco group out of England that in 1979 had a top 5 disco hit "My Baby's Baby" on the Parachute Label,  which was a subsidiary of.you guessed it, the famous Casablanca Records.  "Dance Yourself Dizzy" was the follow-up song released by the group later that year and peaked at #26 in 1980.  For the most part, I think this song pretty much fell under the radar and I was surprised to see two outstanding remixes for it (7th Heaven and Yomanda), instead of their first (and only) memorable hit.  After all, "My Baby's Baby" was also a top twenty hit on the pop charts.  Regardless, "Dance Yourself Dizzy" has all the entrapments of pure cheezy disco and will no doubt have you on your feet spinning around while the mirrorball lights accent your every move.  You can read more about the group and an entire lot of other disco greats with amazing mixes to boot at T.M.L.
