This set specifically focuses on 2005-2006. Electro House had already been bubbling up from the underground, but by 2005, we saw the rise of future DJs who would later become household names. People like David Guetta, Axwell, Kaskade, Fedde Le Grande, and Dave Aude, to name a few. This period also brought me back into the scene after having dropped out because the music from 2002-2004 had become too druggy, dark, and frankly, depressing. I just wasn't feeling what Stephane K & Creamer were putting out at the time. It wasn't until Rick was out of town, and I went to a gay club in Atlanta with my bestie, LeAnn, that I realized the music was shifting. Hearing the Freemasons mix of "Lovin' You More" and "Mesmerized" lit a spark in me, and I knew the landscape was changing—bringing back my excitement for the scene. By this time, the big room stylings of Thunderpuss (Barry Harris and Chris Cox) had come to an end. However, Chris Cox carried on with their big tribal sound, while Victor Calderone, Hex Hector, Tony Moran, and Ralphi Rosario continued topping the Dance Club charts. Peter Rauhofer ventured into darker, progressive sounds—sometimes hitting the mark, other times not—but he was still in high demand, commanding high prices for his shows. The following decade was truly an exciting time for the Dance Club scene, with EDM becoming the dominant genre, alongside massive festivals that resembled rock concerts. One thing that didn't change was the length of the songs. Unlike today's musical landscape, where dance tracks often clock in at under 4 minutes, DJs back then continued the tradition of long, epic songs, just like their predecessors. It is a pleasure to welcome recording artist Laura Bryna as the latest guest on The Jake's Take with Jacob Elyachar Podcast. Based in Nashville and Los Angeles, Laura has spent much of the past year working with A-list collaborators like producer Damon Sharpe (a Grammy Award winner known for his work with icons like Jennifer Lopez), building up a batch of songs that bring a gritty but fun-loving flavor to modern-day country music. Listing everyone from Etta James to Wynonna Judd to Joan Jett among her inspirations, Laura Bryna grew up on timeless pop songs from the 1950s and 1960s thanks to the jukebox in her family's basement in Mount Airy, Maryland.Soon after moving to Nashville, she inked a deal with a record label, then made her debut with Trying to Be Me—an album featuring "Hometown Heroes," a straight-from-the-heart track she co-wrote in tribute to the Air National Guard which premiered on Fox's Monday Night Football. Along with opening for major artists like Carrie Underwood, Tim McGraw, and Luke Bryan, Bryna has since brought her soul-stirring vocals and radiant presence to a multitude of USO events, including a 2019 tour that traveled to such far-flung countries as Kuwait and Kosovo. The November '23 edition of UP! has a mixture of new and classic songs interspersed through it. I recently got hold of the hard to get 7th Heaven club mix of P!nk's "All I know So Far" and as I love all things P!nk, it had to go on. Division 4 kindly provided me with his mix of Taylor Swift's "Anti-Hero" and as I also love all things Tay Tay, it had to go on as well. Dave Aude` has updated Kimberley Locke's cover of "I Can't Make You Love Me" and Dave Matthias' new track "Let The Night" is killer. Dirty Disco features three remixes here. Mark seems to have a thing for Troye Sivan (which I totally support and am here for) and his remix of "One Of Your Girls" is excellent. Sia's new song "Gimme Love" gets a super remix from Armin van Buuren and the Jusko/Blacklow mix of Chappelle Roan's song is all energy. The back end of the set has some excellent remixes of Kylie Minogue and Dua Lipa's recent hit singles and then I threw in some classic Selena Gomez and Sagi Kariv. Award-Winning Canadian Country singer/songwriter Alexis Taylor is just getting started. The Canadian singer and songwriter was born and raised in the small town of Huntsville, Ontario. From a young age, Alexis' powerhouse vocals combined with emotional lyrics showcased her creativity and love for music in every song. From sharing the stage with The Marshall Tucker Band , Love and Theft , Meghan Patrick and Doug Seegers , triple threat artist/singer/songwriter, Alexis Taylor has quickly established herself as one of country music's rising stars. Following the release of her first single in 2018, Alexis has appeared live on numerous radio stations and tv stations throughout North America. She has been a part of events such as Canadian Music Week in Toronto, CMA Fest in Nashville, and has performed at the USO Northwest Gala in both 2018 and 2019. The release of her first single also lead to Alexis winning Female Vocalist of the Year at the 2018 Tennessee Music Awards , and would be the first of many nominations and awards to be won in Alexis' career. At the beginning of 2022, Alexis reached #36 on the Sirius XM CBC Country radio charts with her release "Long Way From Home" - A story of Alexis' journey in the music industry. However, Alexis' newest release "Let Me Leave" which was produced by Taylor Carroll (drummer for American rock band LIT), and vocals recorded by Dave Aude (known for more number ones than any other producer on the Billboard Dance Club Songs chart) is sure to be an even bigger success. With big plans to get back into the studio before 2023, there is no telling what accomplishments this Nashville girl will see in the year ahead.

Welcome to the final UP! for 2022. This edition sneaks in just before Xmas and is packed full of funky house and club anthems to see you through to the New Year. Rihanna's massive hit "Lift Me Up" from the Black Panther sequel gets an excellent treatment from Ray Isaac as does "I Just Want Your Touch" by Jolyon Petch. Division 4 has two remixes featured here for Meghan Trainor and Naked Flame respectively. LeAnn Rimes has a great new track "Spaceship" which has an amazing remix from Dave Aude`. Years & Years cover Crystal Waters' classic "100% Pure Love" mixed by Dirty Disco and 7th Heaven do a classic, energy remix of "Drop Dead Gorgeous" by NVS. Probably my favourite track on this set is P!nk's new song "Never Gonna Not Dance Again" remixed by Stephen Jusko & DJ Blacklow. It is such a joyous and uplifting song and all the remixes I have of it are stellar. Guy Scheiman reinvents "Like It Is" as does Big Kid on the amazing "Run" by Becky Hill. Party Favorz is back and swinging for the fences as we get back to our normal programming schedule the Back 2 School Edition featuring fall's biggest dance club songs. There's a lot to unpack here so let's get started. We kicked off the set with Beyonce's Break My Soul, which was a little slow out of the gate before people started getting on board. The songwriting credits included the writers for the 90s Robin S classic Show Me Love but to me – there were zero similarities to either song. Both use the standard House music loop featured in most songs back in the day but with little resemblance to that earworm hook courtesy of the StoneBridge remix, which is what made the original a massive hit. Finally, DJ Mike D had the good sense to remix the song with that familiar riff and it works in spades. Still, the best remix of the track that flips and turns it into a big room crowd pleaser is from our good friends from Houston, Dirty Disco. In fact, Dirty Disco appears to be the go-to for remixing the biggest songs hitting the charts these days, and for good reason. While they don't have a specific signature (which is one of their finest qualities) — they seem to approach each remix with a different mindset and give it what it needs to turn it into a massive dance floor scorcher. You will hear plenty of examples in this set but the one that really takes the prize is their remix of Calvin Harris' Stay With Me featuring Justin Timberlake, Halsey, and Timberlake. We all know superstar DJ/producer Calvin Harris has a lot of friends in high places but even they couldn't save this song. Enter Dirty Disco from stage left. They massively restructured the original and turned it on its head, which further showcased what the song could be. The remix is so massive and catchy that it got a feature spot in this set when it otherwise wouldn't have. Another DJ people and labels should be keeping an eye on is DJ Ranny. He's been around a while but has proven himself to be more than just a big-room tribal circuit DJ. His WAP remix by Megan Thee Stallion and Cardi B was a masterpiece several years ago. Because the snobs in the music press wouldn't dare cover a country artist — even if they have had a strong presence in the club world for decades — Miss Rimes has teamed up with Dave Aude for a remix of this song, which is featured here and it's OMFG unbelievable. Anyone familiar with the original or is a fan of Alanis will get chills just listening to Leann transcend this song from one generation to the next. After all, she was just a kid when the original went to #1 on the Top 40 charts — albeit a kid wtih a blossoming country music career who was being hailed as the next Patsy Cline. Originally, the plan was to create a Block & Crown Legacy set that was to be released in November but time constraints got in the way and so the project was shelved. Coming up on the holiday weekend, I decided to pull out all the tracks I've amassed over the years of classic mashups and bootlegs by these (guys?) and create one giant throwdown party. Not much is known about this duo or even if it's a collective of one (kinda like Party Favorz). Over the years, many of these songs have appeared on various Dance Club, Peak Hour, and Disco House releases while the majority have not. They have no explicit style but share an affinity for dance music in all its glorious forms. Many songs will be a familiar hook from a classic disco song or 80s dance track that's been mashed with an equally familiar Hip Hop song from the 90s. Oftentimes, they use the original vocalist while other times it's a different singer made to sound like the original. Either that or the vocals were altered possibly due to licensing rights. The titles of the tracks will mostly be unfamiliar to you until you listen to each song and you'll be like "damn! I know that/these song(s)." While Block & Crown have owned this space for quite some time, other DJs have dabbled in it as well. People like Richard Grey, Softmal, Nari, Lissat, and others have also generated a bunch of these mashups. More recently, Ghostmasters, The Soul Gang, Ghostbusterz, and Disco Gurls have been picking up a lot of the slack. I could be wrong but I believe the people behind these aliases are Nacho Chapado & Ivan Gomez who have been distributing these remixed gems on their Guareber Recordings imprint. Their focus has been primarily on 80s dance though occasionally they stray from that decade. I've pulled from many of the best to create this early summer dance classics throwback that can be enjoyed at BBQs, family outings, or poolside by every age group. This set includes songs from the 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, 00s, and even a couple of recent songs that meld into the overall vibe of this set. Some songs are just straight-up reworks reimagined for today's dancefloor much like our 'Thank God It's Disco' series but expanded into a wide range of decades. A lot of songs were removed because of the difficulty of mixing them into a seamless set. This is generally because many of the endings of the songs weren't DJ-friendly and just cut off. So, there was a lot of great stuff that had to be dropped. Nevertheless, I've had the 'Summer Throwback Dance Party' on repeat for the past week and it is one epic party throwdown to be shared and enjoyed by all. If you want to forget about inflation, high gas prices, high rents, or the great American experiment going down the drain — this is the one set that will allow you to escape, even if only for 5 hours. Yup, it's massive! I've got all the songs compiled for the annual Beach House series and expect that to be released this next week. This particular Disco House series is taking a new direction, which I'll get into when it drops. Until then...ENJOY! Superstar DJ Keoki on the Virtual Sessions presented by The DJ Sessions 5/18/22   About Superstar DJ Keoki - Keoki Franconi was born in El Salvador but moved to Kihei, Maui, when he was 8.[1] After graduating from Kailua High School he moved to the mainland to study at an airline school in California. Franconi enjoyed a brief career with several airline operations in New York, among them the now defunct Trans World Airlines, while also being a busboy at the city's trendy Danceteria club. It was at Danceteria that he got his start.   Soon was signed to Moonshine Records and established the alias SUPERSTAR DJ KEOKI as his own title for the world to know. For several years , Keoki teamed up with producer Dave Aude and wrote hit after hit under the moonshine label. After Moonshine retirement from the record industry , Keoki signed a major record deal with Cleopatra , Hypnotic records and released his ELECTRO CLASH collection.    Within this label , Keoki met Electronica mega producer Decoding Jesus; both clicked in an instant and started producing music as the dynamic duo we know today as KEOKI vs. DECODING JESUS. Both signed this new project to major dance label Moist Music and released there first full length album "TALKING TO YOUR SELF."    Presently , Keoki works with in the indie label of Edgar L.
