Before the error can fully scramble the public's understanding of the suspect's political alignment, a voice rings out clearly from the back of the room near a concrete abutment. It is Jack Ruby, a local strip club owner holding a notepad and pencil, who loudly corrects the District Attorney and establishes the record on live national television.While assistant prosecutors would later note that Ruby delivered his correction in a normal, helpful tone, his sudden public display of political literacy immediately raises eyebrows. By handing KLIF the live, exclusive telephone scoop of the night, Jack earns an ecstatic invitation from the newsroom, with the overnight staff promising to leave the locked back door open for exactly five minutes so he can bring the food up.But Jack's desperate, pathological need to secure favor and be helpful ultimately sabotages his strict five-minute entry window. On his way out of the building, he runs into KLIF disc jockey Russ Knight—known to his listeners as "the Weird Beard"—who is searching for the press action. Forgetting the clock, Jack insists on escorting the DJ back downstairs to introduce him to Henry Wade for another taped interview. By the time Jack drives his white Oldsmobile a single block to the KLIF studios, his entrance window has expired and the doors are locked tight. In this episode, we follow the self-appointed king of the Dallas strip as he is forced to wait outside on the chilly pavement for fifteen minutes, clutching a heavy box of pastrami sandwiches and soda pop, setting the stage for a mysterious 2:30 a.m. parking lot meeting that would alter the course of the entire weekend.

Best known for his role as Meathead in "All in the Family" and for his directorial success with films including "Spinal Tap", "When Harry Met Sally..." and "The Princess Bride," Reiner has long resided in Brentwood, Los Angeles. He and his wife were 78 and 68, respectively. Details remain unconfirmed but sources say he and his wife were stabbed to death. Reiner's son Nick is a person of interest. Also multiple dead and several wounded after mass shooting at Brown University Saturday afternoon. Police in Providence, RI have released a person of interest. The gunman remains at large. And tragedy in Australia as 16 are dead, including the gunman, after a father-son duo opens fire on a Jewish community celebrating Hanukkah. Some 40 were injured in Australia's worse ever mass shooting on Bondi Beach in Sydney. And President Trump vows "massive retaliation" after a tragic shooting in Syria. The weekend ambush occurred in Palmyra when a lone Islamic State gunman targeted a group of Iowa Army National Guard soldiers. The attack killed two American soldiers, a U.S. civilian interpreter and wounded three additional U.S. soldiers. And sad news from our industry as former longtime talk radio host David Gold has died at age 75. Gold launched his career in the late 1970s in Denver. He would go on to work at WPLP-AM, Tampa before moving to KLIF, Dallas where he was on air from 1986 to 1997.
