Sean Mullin is an award-winning filmmaker. He has been a writer, director and/or producer on seven films that have received theatrical releases. His critically-acclaimed feature film debut as a writer/director – Amira & Sam – won the top prize at numerous festivals and was distributed theatrically by Drafthouse Films in 2015. His documentary about baseball legend, Yogi Berra – It Ain't Over – received a theatrical release by Sony Pictures Classics in 2023. It is one of the best reviewed sports documentaries of all time – and it was nominated for two Critics Choice Awards and a Writers Guild Award. Prior to his filmmaking career, Sean graduated from West Point where he played rugby. He served an army officer, stationed in Germany and he finished his time as a Captain in the New York Army National Guard – where he was a first responder after the attacks of September 11th, 2001. For several months, he spent his days working as the Officer in Charge of the soldiers stationed at Ground Zero – and his nights performing stand-up comedy.  Sean's most recent documentary – Brothers on Three – is an unprecedented look inside the most unique culture of any Division I Athletic program in the country – the West Point Army Rugby Team – as they fight to defend their National Championship. The Sun unleashed an absolutely massive G4 geomagnetic solar storm that hit the planet yesterday. It was the most powerful solar flare that we have seen in 2025. Additionally, an “energetic” and fast-moving coronal mass ejection, or CME, was hurled out by the Sun on Tuesday from the same area as the solar flare. The Space Weather Prediction Center has issued power grid warnings for 11 northern states, stating that the electromagnetic effects of the G4 would cause issues with electrical grids for states poleward of the 45th parallel. And unlike most people who come to me for coaching, Catherine was starting from ground zero. She tried Duolingo for around a week, but quickly realized that she needed a more systematic approach that would actually enable her to reach her goals. So, Katharine has a demanding career. She's raising a family and she lives in the UK. Hey, so moving to China or dedicating full days to study isn't really an option. And so we set a very specific goal for her first 6 months, which was to establish a rock-solid foundation when it came to pronunciation, tones, and sentence structure. So that meant rather than cramming thousands of random words from HSK lists, focusing on the words that she needed to use herself to talk about, the things that she was interested and wanted to talk about, and making sure she could say those things really well. So making sure that her pronunciation and tones were really good for the things that she wanted to say. And so that's what she's done for the first 6 months, collecting phrases that she actually wants to say and building her own kind of personalized immersion environment where she's immersing in those things that she wants to talk about all the time while walking the dog, commuting to meetings, etc. So, in a moment, we're going to hear a clip of Katherine reading a script that she wrote about whales, entirely in Chinese with excellent tones. And after you hear that clip, I interview Katherine in English about her experience over her first 6 months of learning Chinese. There are numerous stories of people who have seen demons in mirrors, These malevolent entities are actually part of something called "mirror life" that usually is connected to infestations of "mirror bacteria." Well, not everyone comes back from the dead. It is written that those souls who have not integrated into the afterlife are known as the Revenant - a reanimated corpse (not a ghost), an undead being from European folklore that returns to the mortal world from the dead, often to seek vengeance or settle unfinished business. This is why Purgatory was created by the Roman Catholic church in the 13th century. There was heaven and hell, and a preserve for the aimless Revenant; this "in-between" place naturally became the residence of the dead who were not resting peacefully. Over the past decade, “griefbots” and deepfake avatars have become commonplace, allowing the bereaved to chat with simulations of their dead loved ones. Virtual reality revives not only the deceased's image, voice, or way of conversing, but a virtual simulation of their physical selves. Now, some researchers believe the technology could also help treat prolonged grief disorder, a diagnosis that has been applied to individuals whose grief severely interferes with their daily life for at least a year.
