In this episode, the scriptural case for voting against Donald Trump. In exploring a scriptural case for voting against Donald Trump, one can turn to various teachings in the Bible that emphasize virtues like humility, truthfulness, justice, and care for the marginalized. 1. Humility and Leadership • Proverbs 16:18 – “Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall.” • Philippians 2:3-4 – “Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves.” These verses highlight the danger of pride and selfish ambition. 2. Truthfulness and Integrity • Proverbs 12:22 – “The Lord detests lying lips, but he delights in people who are trustworthy.” • Ephesians 4:25 – “Therefore, having put away falsehood, let each one of you speak the truth with his neighbor.” Truth and honesty are essential biblical values. 3. Justice for the Marginalized • Isaiah 1:17 – “Learn to do good; seek justice, correct oppression; bring justice to the fatherless, plead the widow's cause.” • Matthew 25:40 – “Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.” The Bible repeatedly calls for justice and care for the marginalized, including immigrants. 4. Peacemaking vs. Division • Matthew 5:9 – “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called children of God.” • Proverbs 6:16-19 – Lists seven things the Lord detests, including “a person who stirs up conflict in the community.” 5. Servant Leadership • Mark 10:43-45 – “... whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first must be slave of all.” Jesus calls leaders to serve others humbly.

Today's Scripture: Proverbs 20:2 - The terror of a king is like the growling of a lion; whoever provokes him to anger forfeits his life. vs. 8 - A king who sits on the throne of judgment winnows all evil with his eyes. vs. 26 - A wise king winnows the wicked and drives the wheel over them.
Today's Scripture: Proverbs 16:10, 12, 14-15 Vs. 10 - An oracle is on the lips of a king; his mouth does not sin in judgment. Vs. 12 - It is an abomination to kings to do evil, for the throne is established by righteousness. Vs. 14 - A king's wrath is a messenger of death, and a wise man will appease it. Vs. 15 - In the light of a king's face there is life, and his favor is like the clouds that bring the spring rain.

From both sacred and secular history, it appears to me that our sovereign God does one of three things: He blesses some with the leadership they deserve (relatively speaking) or He tests some with leaders better than they deserve or He will burden some with the leaders they so richly deserve.
Jim Andrews, Pastor
Alan can't for the life of him see why God still has him in this organization. It's a [cold] place — this big bank — and he's been thinking about leaving for a while. He's been brought in to a team that's being led by a much younger man who right now needs an older [leader] to steady the ship. Alan is that older [leader]. There are 130 in the team, their profitability is plummeting, and their employee engagement numbers

He graduated from Asbury University in 1989 with a degree in Bible. Bert co-authored Leadership Proverbs and Servant Leadership with Dr. David Stevens.
Bert Jones joins Dr. David Stevens to discuss their book "Leadership Proverbs".
As a missionary, you will be a well-trained healthcare professional, but to serve well, you must be a leader as you manage staff, start programs, and work with the church. Dr. Stevens has boiled down a forest of leadership books into bite-size proverbs full of wit and wisdom in his highly acclaimed book, “Leadership Proverbs.” Using these along with stories from the mission field, he will teach the most important leadership principles for missionaries to learn and apply.
Medical missions is constantly changing. The enterprise of medical missions has brought health and opened the doors for the gospel in countless countries. This rich history continues today. In Africa, forty to seventy percent of health services are still provided by church and mission facilities. How do we build on the achievements of yesteryears and achieve success in the years to come? How can you fit in? Before 1850, there were fewer that fifteen medical missionaries. The average life expectancy for missionaries in Africa in that day was eight years. Oftentimes, medical missionaries started because missionaries were taught basic medical needs. Around 1890's to early 1900's university campuses began to head overseas as missionaries. Many went to China. This is why you see so many Christians in China today. By 1925 there were 1,157 medical missionaries. Listen to the audio for more details on the past, present, and future of medical missions.
