Today I'm chatting with Lisa Atkinson, a listener who cleared £35k of debt in 18 months on an ordinary salary as a single Mum of twin boys. But she didn't stop there. I know you'll find this conversation encouraging and motivating!

On this episode, Tomi speaks with one of the most active racers in the North East, Lisa Atkinson. Lisa is an Ardent runner who has competed all over the world and has no intentions of stopping. She runs for Gateshead Harriers under coach Mike Dawson. Lisa talks about what got her into running, how she's improved and how her passion has grown. She talks about making time for training and competing and it's clear that her training and competitions revolve around fun and experience! Lisa has done The Abbott's World Marathon Majors. She speaks about some of her experiences and challenges in these and how she overcame the challenges. Completing 20 marathons, Lisa still has goals and tells us about her next goals (which are amazing)! She offers some encouragement for us in 2021 and shares lots of wisdom that shje's picked up over the last decade or so of running. The University of Montevallo in Alabama has roots back to the Civil War and even back beyond that time period. The college started off as an all girls school using many antebellum buildings in town to serve as campus buildings. It was an educational experiment that worked and eventually led one day to the college becoming a co-ed institution. It's success continues to this day. The campus is part of a historic district and has seen quite a few tragedies in its time. Massacres, horrific deaths and war have led to unrest in the afterlife.
