Send us a message!A peaceful family day at the lake flips into an ER weekend when Kelsey re-injures the same disc, and we tell the truth about how disorienting unanswered prayer can feel. We cling to 1 Corinthians 2 and choose weakness and dependence, trusting the Holy Spirit to do what our strength cannot. • a delayed release because we spend the day in the emergency room • the emotional whiplash of going from gratitude to fear in minutes • the myth that spiritual leaders always get answers to prayer • naming disappointment with God without giving up on Him • Paul's example in 1 Corinthians 2 of coming in weakness • choosing to rely on the power of the Holy Spirit over human wisdom • learning to take on the mind of Christ through closeness with Jesus • practical surrender of talent, experience, and control in daily life • hope and perspective for suffering that does not make sense  At outloudbible.com, you can find free resources to help you study the Bible. What happens when Scripture says something our culture doesn't like? In this episode, we begin with a powerful quote from Allie Beth Stuckey before diving into one of the Church's most controversial questions: Should women serve as pastors over men? Together, we examine the biblical texts, discuss God's good design for men and women, and explain why trusting God's wisdom often requires resisting cultural pressure. Whether you agree or disagree, our prayer is that this conversation points you back to the authority of God's Word above every other voice. Let's get into it! Connect With The Few! I was walking on a beach when God said something I wasn't ready to hear. Not comfort. Not ease. Peace. "If you don't bring me peace, you don't get a place at my table." I thought I understood what that meant. I didn't. I thought protecting my peace meant cutting out anyone who challenged me. But challenge is not the enemy of peace — emotional hijacking is. Some people don't challenge you. They hijack you. You leave every interaction drained, defensive, replaying the conversation in the shower at 2am. That's not growth — it's an open loop quietly stealing your energy, and it won't close itself. If you're tired of draining relationships that never change, this episode gives you a way to discern who belongs at your table — and the courage to stop setting a place for those who don't. In this episode: • The difference between a holy challenge and emotional hijacking • The "aftermath test" — one question that reveals who stays at your table • 4 practical steps to protect your peace — no drama, no guilt • Why protecting your peace is stewardship, not selfishness This is the heart of Stop Stealing From Yourself — starting with the relationships you keep saying yes to.

April 25, 2026 - Equipped 2026 - Day 3 - 6:30PM Session   Has God Said…? - Mike Vestal   The lecture by Mike Vestal examines the nature of sin and Satan's strategy in Genesis 3, framing humanity's fall as “Paradise Lost in Seven Steps.” Sin is portrayed not as a trivial act (like eating fruit) but as a grave offense against God—idolatry, rebellion, and distorted love. The seven steps of Satan's strategy are outlined: surprise, craftiness, speaking to relate, questioning to create doubt, deceiving and contradicting God, enticing with alluring promises, and finally ensnaring and enslaving humanity. In contrast, the latter half presents God's superior, pre-ordained plan of salvation through Jesus Christ, which counters each tactic. God's plan is straightforward and centers on the Word becoming flesh to invite and liberate rather than deceive and enslave. The lecture concludes by underscoring the seriousness of sin and the glory of God's redemptive plan, which enables a right relationship with Him through correct belief, practice, and heart affection.   Duration 30:24

Bro. Matthew Robbins , president Basileia Ministries, Living water Worship Centre https://www.basileiaministries.com/livingwater   In this powerful 1 Samuel Bible study, we examine the downfall of King Saul and the life-changing truth that obedience is better than sacrifice. Through 1 Samuel 15, this sermon explores the battle between faith and human reasoning, the danger of partial obedience, and how compromise can slowly pull believers away from God's will. This teaching reveals how Saul feared people more than God, why rebellion is compared to witchcraft, and how God looks beyond outward appearances to the heart. The message also encourages believers to grow spiritually through daily obedience, repentance, and consistent time in God's Word. If you've ever struggled with doubt, delay, compromise, or trying to reason away what God has spoken, this message will challenge and strengthen your walk with Christ.

From the very beginning, the authority of God's Word has been under attack. God gave clear instruction in the Garden of Eden as recorded in Genesis 2:16 and following: "And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, 'Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat; But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.'" In Genesis chapter 3, the serpent spoke to Eve, "Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?" The serpent put this question in her mind to cause doubt and later countered what God said, "Ye shall not surely die." Tragically, Eve took of the fruit and ate it. She gave it to Adam, who also ate it, and thus sin entered into the world. We often look back and ask how could they do such a thing. Yet, in our secular world and in pulpits across the country, the same challenge is happening day after day, questioning the authority of the Scriptures. Returning to Crosstalk to answer this concern was Ken Ham. Ken is founder of Answers in Genesis and its life-changing attractions: the highly acclaimed Creation Museum and the world-renowned Ark Encounter. Ken is a biblical apologist and author of multiple books, including Divine Dilemma (understanding death, disease, and suffering); Divided Nation (about today's culture wars); Creation to Babel (a devotional commentary); The Lie: Unraveling the Myth: Evolution/Millions of Years and Miraculous: The Ken Ham and Answers in Genesis Story.

He called us to stop relying on outward appearances and instead pursue a heart fully surrendered—listening for God's voice, walking in His Spirit and trusting Him in the waiting.

Send us Fan MailThe hardest part of faith is not believing God exists. It is trusting him when you are tired, unsure, and tempted to grab the steering wheel. After three weeks off the stage following the grind of Easter ministry, we talk about what changed when we sat in the seats with our families, paid attention during worship, and remembered that leadership is not performance, it is presence. From there we zoom out to the life of our church: missions work around the world, stories of real transformation close to home, and the steady growth of community outreach. We also get painfully honest about the inner pressure leaders carry, the quiet belief that everything rises or falls on us. In prayer, God's message cuts through the noise: get over yourself. Then comes the real invitation: trust me more.We open Genesis and follow Abraham from the moment God says “Go” to the moment Abraham can say, with steady confidence, “God will provide.” We talk about obedience without a detailed plan, faith while still being a work in progress, and why provision is about God's character more than our control. Finally, we bring it into real life: finances, tithing, rising costs, medical diagnoses, addiction, and the daily choice to trust God with tomorrow. If this encouraged you, subscribe for more, share it with a friend who needs hope, and leave a review so more people can find the show. What is one area where you want to trust God more this week?

The One Verse God Said to Remember (That Everyone Forgot)

SeedTime Living

Play Episode Listen Later Mar 27, 2026 27:17

In all of Scripture, there are only a handful of times when God explicitly tells us to "remember" something. Each time, it's attached to something vital—communion, Christ's resurrection, where we've fallen. But there's one verse where God commands us to remember a principle that much of the church seems to have forgotten entirely.   In this episode, Bob and Linda explore 2 Corinthians 9:6: "Remember this—a farmer who plants only a few seeds will get a small crop, but the one who plants generously will get a generous crop."       Key Topics Discussed: Why This Verse Matters How God uses the word "remember" throughout Scripture for critical truths The context of 2 Corinthians 8-9 and its focus on generous giving Why this principle of sowing and reaping has been pushed aside by many believers   The Enemy's Strategy How biblical principles get twisted and weaponized The 1980s prosperity gospel backlash and its lasting impact Two ditches to avoid: manipulation on one side, scarcity mindset on the other   Getting Your Heart Right The crucial difference between giving to people versus giving to the Lord How to avoid being manipulated while still embracing biblical generosity Why you can love your church and still have questions   The Multiplication Principle From Genesis to today: God's design for abundance The apple seed illustration that proves God's multiplication DNA How one butterfly's wings can literally change the world Why quiet faithfulness often shapes culture more than loud voices   What Happens When We Forget Generosity becomes optional instead of formative Fear replaces faith We settle for what we can maintain in our own strength Our expectations of God begin to shrink   Quotable Moments: "God doesn't command that we remember something that is trivial." "When you give to the Lord, that's when you can see the harvest. When you are giving to a person, they can't give you a harvest." "It's easy to be a voice... but there are so many people quietly shaping the culture of their nation." "The butterfly can flap its wings here in Tennessee and literally over in Australia there can be a hurricane—that is how God created things."     Challenge: Don't let the enemy's twisting of Scripture cause you to forget what God told you to remember. Sowing and reaping isn't just about farming or fundraising—it's about how God designed His entire creation to multiply. Every smile at the coffee shop, every dollar given in faith, every child raised in love has exponential Kingdom impact.     The question isn't whether God's multiplication principle is real. The question is: are you partnering with it or have you forgotten it entirely?       Watch this episode on our SeedTime Money Podcast YouTube channel (https://youtu.be/ls_6kLhS2rY)!   If you haven't checked out our best-selling book Simple Money, Rich Life (https://seedtime.com/smrl/), we think you'll love it. Whether you are hiding behind a mask of performance or feeling utterly defeated by your past, this message is a healing balm. A Brief History of Creation …AND GOD SAID... is a brilliant retelling of The Book of Genesis, one of the foundational texts of Western culture. The biases, gaps and silences of the original are given voice and texture by Leff's humane and compelling imagination which brings a fresh and passionate angle of vision to these familiar stories, transforming in the process not only our understanding of our religious past but also of the contemporary life which is in part a product of that past. This is a wonderful and exhilarating book --- Alan Shapiro, Author of ten poetry collections including Tantalus in Love and Old War Poems Praise for UNDERTOW ….These deftly crafted poems treat the quotidian, the metaphysical, and the magical- “as if I could grab a handful of stars from the sky and toss them on the tiles at your feet.” Sharply observed, heartrending and celebratory by turns, UNDERTOW conducts us through a lifetime of landscapes its fascination with orientation in shifting memory and place becoming our own.--Susan Cobin, Author, What You Choose

In this conversation, I talk about what it feels like to hit rejection and closed doors in your creative work, and why that moment is not a verdict on who you are. I share how easy it is to spiral after a no, a ghost, a decline, or a door that just will not open, and I reframe it like this: a closed door is information. It is feedback. It is not identity. It is not proof that you are behind, unqualified, or "not called." We also walk through how to interpret closed doors through a Kingdom lens. Sometimes a closed door is protection. Sometimes it is redirection. Sometimes it is simply timing. And instead of forcing what is not opening, I encourage you to slow down and discern. I give practical next steps for navigating rejection without collapsing into it, including trusting God's timing, using peace as a guide, and doing fruit tests to confirm whether a path is producing what it should. The goal is not to pretend rejection does not hurt. The goal is to keep your footing, stay faithful, and keep moving with wisdom. What happens when God's Word becomes the final authority in your life? From the very beginning, Scripture shows us that God's Word is the source of all life, clarity, and purpose. In God Said It, Pastor Mike O'Connell reminds us that a miracle mentality begins when we stop questioning what God has spoken and start trusting it fully. When God's Word is challenged, confusion follows, but when it is obeyed, fruitfulness always flows. On this Commissioning Sunday, we anchor our lives in a simple but powerful truth. If God said it, that settles it. As we choose to live under the authority of His Word, we position ourselves to experience God's best for our lives.
