Angela is the founder of Powered by Intuition and author of The Intuition Principle: How to Attract the Life You Dream Of. Interestingly, her spiritual work developed alongside a very conventional professional career: she spent more than two decades working in financial planning, private banking and real-estate finance. Contemporary listings for her original X Zone appearance likewise described her as a writer, clairvoyant and spiritual medium from the New York area. Angela says her unusual experiences began during childhood. She recalls receiving her first Tarot cards and giving readings at age 11, becoming interested in astrology at 12, experiencing precognitive dreams, hearing what she interpreted as guiding voices, and having encounters she believed involved spirits. She says that during psychic and medical-intuition training in adulthood, an instructor suggested that some of what she was experiencing represented communication with deceased individuals, leading Angela to identify herself as a medium. These experiences represent Angela's personal interpretation of events rather than scientifically established evidence of paranormal communication. Angela's work also focuses heavily on intuition. In The Intuition Principle, she presents exercises involving meditation, journaling, dream analysis and attention to intuitive impressions as tools for greater self-awareness and decision-making. A Kirkus Reviews assessment described the book as a self-help guide aimed at helping readers access intuitive knowledge, while also noting that Angela advises readers to treat intuitive impressions about physical health as supplemental to consultation with qualified medical professionals. This week on Medium in the Middle, I am sharing two mediumship stories that are perfect examples of how Spirit can sneak into the most ordinary moments, and how sometimes the information we receive does not make sense until later.The first story happened while I was getting ready to teach a Mediumship Practice Circle. Before the circle even started, I received a very specific image of rose bushes. I ended up using the rose bushes as an example while I was teaching, only to find out that the example was incredibly specific to someone in the circle. I also talk about one of the ways I recognize when information is coming from Spirit, especially when I hear myself using words or phrases that I would never normally use.Then we get into story number two, which happened during a Reiki Level One training on the same day. A fire alarm, the smell of smoke, and a random thought about a fire extinguisher started creating a pattern that I could not ignore. As more pieces came together and multiple students shared their own fire-related experiences, we eventually realized who was trying to come through: a father figure in Spirit who had been a firefighter.The interesting part was that I was not teaching mediumship. I was teaching Reiki, and I have very clear boundaries around giving spontaneous mediumship readings during my Reiki trainings. These two stories are such good examples of what mediumship can actually look like. It is not always one giant, obvious sign. Sometimes it is a rose bush. Sometimes it is a smell, a random thought, an oddly specific word, or several tiny pieces of information that eventually create a much bigger picture.Spirit can sneak in when you least expect it, so pay attention. Sarah and Jane try (and mostly fail) not to fangirl as they welcome psychic medium, author, and self-described Britney Spears devotee Travis Holp to the show. Travis shares his story of growing up gay and intuitive in Ohio, the grandmother who told him "I see you and it's okay," and how coming out as a medium was a breeze compared to coming out as a gay teenager. Hint: his family's response was basically, "Yeah, that makes sense." From there, the conversation goes deep. Travis explains why he opens every live show by saying he doesn't carry the burden of proof, and tells the story of a grieving widower whose test question was answered word for word the moment Travis stopped trying so hard. He talks about boundaries, burnout, and the surprising discovery that sitting with joy has been harder for him than sitting with pain. Travis, Sarah, and Jane all share that they don't drink, and they reflect on how learning to receive in everyday life strengthens the connection with Spirit. What happens when your intuition is wrong, and is being wrong actually the worst thing that can happen?I have a story for you that started when my friend was coming over for dinner at 7:30 pm. At 7:30 pm, my doorbell rang, so I yelled “come in!” from the kitchen and kept doing what I was doing, except no one came in. When I went to check the door, no one was there, so I went back to the kitchen and a few moments later the doorbell rang again, but once again, no one was there.Then things got weird because my doorbell started ringing over and over again, aggressively, for almost an entire minute, and yes, I have the video, so you can go watch the whole thing happen on Instagram.When my friend finally arrived, we immediately started trying to figure out what had just happened. Was it spirit trying to get my attention, was it someone coming through for my friend, was it someone for me, or was August 11th an important anniversary that I was supposed to recognize?Then another thought popped into my head. Was someone passing away and coming to say goodbye?That thought sent me into calling my family, putting everyone on high alert, and trying to figure out what my intuition was actually telling me.Was my intuition right, was I picking up on something that was actually happening, or was I completely wrong about the entire thing?This week's episode is about why trusting your intuition is worth it, even when there is a chance you might be wrong.
