Nelson Montana  Music Industry Insights from Composer, Arranger, Artist, Musician, Nelson Montana. A Conversation and music from Concert Halls to Studio to Broadway  If you are a singer/songwriter or just an artist who dabbles with music, there's so much to learn from my guest, Nelson Montana.  His eclectic interest in various genres is inspiring and noteworthy. Join us in this fascinating conversation on the Long Island Sound. Arranger / Composer /Bassist / Multi-Instrumentalist / Vocalist / Producer / Engineer Nelson Montana is a New York-based musician who is also a producer, composer, and arranger.  Though primarily a bassist he plays a total of eleven instruments. https://soundcloud.com/nelson-montanaNelson's career goes back to when he played with the critically acclaimed band “Popular Science” as a drummer and songwriter before he switched to bass as his main instrument years later. Since then, he's been a full-time bassist working in various venues and all styles of music, from concert halls to studio work to Broadway plays.  Consequently, he's the only person to have been featured in both Modern Drummer magazine as well as Bass Player magazine.  And his guitar work on his album “Don't Fear the Reverb” has also received high praise.  Nelson has played with members of the bands Steely Dan, Daft Punk, Jimmy Buffet, and Stevie Winwood.  He's also featured in the new book “From The Record” along with music industry legends, Robin Gibb, Neil Sedaka, and Kelly Rowland.  Nelson currently works mostly as a producer and recording engineer, but still manages to record much of his own music. He has over 300 videos on Youtube where he plays all the instruments and the styles range from Rock to Jazz, to Funk to Country.  Being so eclectic is difficult to market because people expect an artist to do one thing, but as Nelson puts it, “I enjoy all types of music and want to express myself in a variety of ways. If others enjoy it, I've succeeded in what I'm trying to do.” That is why he currently makes all of his recordings available free of charge to his fans.   Connect with The Long Island Sound Podcast:Website: Https://GigDestiny.com/podcast Follow Steve Yusko, GigDestiny.com, and his adventures:  Website: https://www.GigDestiny.com  Twitter, Instagram,  YouTube, FacebookSpotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/21aCeQWDmD4fkucpfVf9Email: Steve@GigDestiny.com Intro/Outro song in this episode:“Fading out Fast” from Mike Nugent's album, Mike NugThe growth of The Long Island Sound Podcast has been exponential. A lot of doctors are shying away from the use of aromatase inhibitors, but this could be negatively affecting older men on testosterone. Why should a man in his 60s take an aromatase inhibitor? Why are anti-aging clinics doing more harm than good? Is Clomid something we would recommend? On this episode, Nelson Montana is here to talk about his experience and insights on testosterone optimization drawn from two decades of using it.   Dig in and understand what you’re reading. You’ll have a much stronger base from which to work. -Nelson Montana   Three Takeaways Few doctors have the experiential basis of knowledge that comes with long-term practice. There’s really no difference between taking 100mg and 200mg of testosterone, so why take 100mg more than you need? A person on Clomid only has elevated testosterone when they are on it. It also has a lot of negative side effects and increases estrogen. It’s actually just easier, cheaper, and better to use testosterone. The doctors who are using Clomid are afraid of legal trouble from giving testosterone to men.   At the start of the show, Nelson shared a bit on his life and talked about changes he has noticed in his body as he grows older. We discussed the issues with anti-aging clinics and why people should not be using Clomid. We also talked about the importance of factoring in the differences between people in the hormone optimization conversation.   We also discussed: Micro-dosing aromatase inhibitors for older men How the internet is making us dumber Why everything is geared for us to be on one side of the fence or the other   If there is anything that’s truly the foundation of youth as a chemical constituent, it’s testosterone. The problems arise when people try to pass themselves off as hormone specialists and give terrible advice. This gets furthered by the general misconceptions that get in the way of the proper application of testosterone. People also try to apply generalized rules, but it’s called interventional endocrinology for a reason-- it’s not a cookie cutter methodology. Because our bodies are changing as we age, we’re also going to have to reevaluate and adapt as time goes on.

In today’s episode, Jay picks the brain of body building industry insider Nelson Montana. Their conversation covers his career and interest in body building, his experience of the industry and the body building techniques that are part of his own routine. In the second part of the interview, Nelson told Jay about his own weightlifting regimen and he mentioned how he’s become more interested in working out quicker as opposed to spending more time experimenting with different techniques. He’s found that the new method gives him a better cardiovascular and aerobic benefit which fits in with his goal of maintain muscle. Jay and Nelson went on to discuss diet, and the fact that most people eat way more than they need. The subject of science also comes up and the pair discuss whether it provides a complete picture of the needs of bodybuilders. The key, according to Nelson is to keep learning and discovering your body’s needs. At a certain age, you won’t be able to gain muscle, so your goal should be to maintain muscle. A complete physique comes from experimenting with different techniques to employ muscle confusion, while cardiovascular benefits take place when you focus on getting through your workout quicker.   Nelson is a musician, body building insider and author of The Body Building Truth. https://www.amazon.com/Bodybuilding-Truth-Secrets-Youre-Supposed/dp/B001VZ4SMY To Download Your FREE PDF Copy of the Amazon Best Seller: The Definitive Testosterone Replacement Therapy MANual, Click Here  For a FREE Paperback Copy.
