A man, named Arthur Knight walked into a Scottish hospital. he was sick, Really sick, with Covid. He fell into a coma and when he woke the police were there ready to arrest him. They said he was a fugitive named Nicholas Rossi Alaverdian from the United States. One that was wanted for fraud and sexual abuse. He'd been identified by his tattoos. "This isn't right", he wheezed through his oxygen mask, "My wife will tell you. I'm Irish, not American. There must be some mistake. Someone must have tattooed me while I was in my coma." Dr. Nicholas Nicholas author of "Pericles and Me" tells us about his book and the adventures that inspired it. Dr. Nicholas C. Nicholas was born in the United States, in Pittsburgh, PA), but his parents were not yet American citizens at the time of his birth. Although the Nicholas family included no college graduates at the time of Dr. Nicholas's birth, it was understood that the Nicholas family valued education (a common attitude of Greek-Americans). Dr. Nicholas was the rust family member to graduate from college, earning a BS, MS, and Ph.D. in physics and mathematics. He was followed by his sister Barbara Nicholas Milton, MA, who became a dedicated teacher. Now the Nicholas family is replete with PhDs, MDs, Engineers, and other professions. Dr. Nicholas has enjoyed a full career as a physicist, analyst, problem solver, and scientific research project manager. His experimental and theoretical work has an exceptionally wide range. He has conducted analyses and studies based on physics, mathematics, and various engineering disciplines. He has formulated and led operational studies including submarine trials of emerging technologies, military field trials of defense technologies, and analyses of military requirements and technological threats to US forces. The operational exercises required him to ride submarines, surface ships, military aircraft, and at times to bivouac with soldiers in the field. Early in his career, Dr. Nicholas served as the engineering officer in the first simulated Apollo flight. He was fitted with a pressure suit and underwent extensive training. He spent eight days in an Apollo capsule doing all that was required for a flight to the moon. Dr. Nicholas has spent substantial periods of time working in the Middle East, Ukraine, and Western Europe. He has always gravitated towards interesting work and would change very little if he could do it all again. https://www.amazon.com/Pericles-Me-Nicholas-C-Phd/dp/197721097X Follow me on: facebook: https://facebook.com/couponqueenpin001/ Website: https://couponqueenpin.com Email: cqp@couponqueenpin.com Instagram: @couponqueenpin001 Twitter: @couponqueenpin #podcast #podcasting #spotify #podcasts #podcastersofinstagram #podcastlife #podcaster #streaming #radio #book #love #netflix #itunes #podcasters #author #applepodcasts #storytime #podcastshow #interview #entrepreneur #newpodcast #motivation #spotifypodcast #applepodcast #amazon #family #moneysaving #soundcloud #radioshow #fiction --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/cqpmoments/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/cqpmoments/support

In this episode, I am talking to Nicholas Tollervey about CodeGrades but we’re also touching on some of his other projects like PyperCard and the Mu Editor.I took the following from an O’Reilly book author page, but I think it’s a great description for Nicholas: Nicholas is a classically trained musician, philosophy graduate, teacher, writer and software developer. He's just like this biography: concise, honest and full of useful information.Nicholas develops software that helps folks learn the skills and knowledge they need to imagine, develop and program the stuff they want. In addition to writing software, he spends a lot of time researching and thinking about how people learn, use and create with code.So when it comes to education and coding education in particular, I think the one thing that all his projects have in common is the programming language Python. CodeGrades, PyperCard, the Mu Editor - they’re all about Python. CodeGrades - is an educational platform for learners, teachers and mentors - it’s Nicholas’s latest project. PyperCard - is a GUI framework, a graphical user interface framework, for beginner coders. The Mu Editor is a very popular editor for beginner python projects, it’s also often used for hardware boards such as Adafruit’s Circuit PLayground which can be programmed using Python.

An album can be identified as a collection of singles surrounded by filler or ideally, a united suite with a statement or purpose. About Town, the third full-length release from Nicholas Nicholas occupies the latter role. The repetitive moniker is the solo project of Brooklyn-based singer/ songwriter Chris Masullo. Bristling amongst the dark-night-of-the-soul vocals and forlorn music of the brilliant About Town belie words that celebrate love and its accompanying emotions. Shades of a red herring? Perhaps, but it forces the listener to not place total faith in their first impressions. It's not necessary to feel tricked or deceived because complex music doesn't ever reveal all that it knows within a first sitting. Or even multiple ones. If considered as a short story collection, About Town is a less a series of songs than an assemblage of lives circling and thriving on the themes of ardor. It appears we've stumbled into Nicholas Nicholas Country. On the podcast today is Nicholas Kraft, who Produced and Edited the fantastic documentary Pursuing Happiness, and is currently employee #1 and Director of Audience Development at the List app, a social network built around the creating and sharing of lists, and co-founded by BJ Novak. I had the privilege of watching Pursuing Happiness, where their goal was to find the happiest people in America, and oh man I liked it so much. Among many things, it made me realize that I need to step it up and actively care more for the people around me. Being nice is one thing, but I can stand to do more to make life easier for other people. And I have played around with the List app, and I like that, too. It’s amazing how poignant or interesting or informative a simple list can be. Plus John Mayer and Lena Dunham use it all the time. Download it in the app store if you don’t have it yet. If you’re interested in seeing the doc, head over to PursuingHappiness.com, where you can see the trailer now, and though it won’t be available on demand for a couple months, there’s a contact page, and if you give them a shout and say you heard Nicky K on How Are you Thinking About, I don’t know, no promises, but you may find yourself watching the movie sooner than you think.
