In this episode of the Grow A Small Business Podcast, host Troy Trewin interviews Nevada Matthews from Cube Home Loans shares his inspiring journey from leaving school at 16 to becoming a co-owner of a fast-growing mortgage brokerage in Brisbane. He explains how the business scaled from $86M to $300M in annual settlements, growing the team from 6 to 18 members in just five years. Nevada highlights the shift from working long hours to focusing on strategy, systems, and hiring the right people for sustainable success. He also reveals powerful marketing wins through local community groups and partnerships with aligned businesses. This episode is packed with practical lessons on culture, balance, and building a thriving small business without burnout. Why would you wait any longer to start living the lifestyle you signed up for? Balance your health, wealth, relationships and business growth. And focus your time and energy and make the most of this year. Let's get into it by clicking here. Troy delves into our guest's startup journey, their perception of success, industry reconsideration, and the pivotal stress point during business expansion. They discuss the joys of small business growth, vital entrepreneurial habits, and strategies for team building, encompassing wins, blunders, and invaluable advice. And a snapshot of the final five Grow A Small Business Questions: What do you think is the hardest thing in growing a small business? According to Nevada Matthews of Cube Home Loans, the hardest thing in growing a small business is getting the balance right between having enough resources and capacity to support growth while also managing cash flow. He explains that you want extra team support to maintain great customer service, but paying for those resources at the right time is the real challenge. What's your favorite business book that has helped you the most? Nevada Matthews said his favorite business book that has helped him the most is "The E-Myth Revisited" by Michael E. Gerber — because it shifted his thinking from working in the business to building systems and processes that help the business run without him. Are there any great podcasts or online learning resources you'd recommend to help grow a small business? According to Nevada Matthews of Cube Loans, two of the best podcasts he recommends for growing a small business are Grow A Small Business Podcast and My First Million, as they provide practical insights and real entrepreneurial lessons. He also shares that most of his professional development comes from consistently listening to business podcasts and reading books that help improve strategy, systems, and leadership. What tool or resource would you recommend to grow a small business? Nevada Matthews recommends tools that help small business owners systemize, manage leads, and improve communication — the kind that take work off your plate so you can focus on growth. One tool he highlights is HubSpot CRM, because it's easy to use, helps you track customers and marketing in one place, and scales with your business needs. He also suggests using project management tools like Trello or Notion to keep teams aligned and workflows organized, which can be a game-changer as you grow. What advice would you give yourself on day one of starting out in business? According to Nevada Matthews of Cube Loans, the advice he would give himself on day one is to enjoy the process and the stage you're in, rather than always rushing toward the next milestone. He shares that business growth can feel stressful and uncertain, but it's important to stay calm, trust that you're heading in the right direction, and appreciate the journey as much as the outcome. Are We Entering a 1,000-Year Age of Peace - "Where's Your Light?: Ascension Edition" by Douglas F. GradyApostle John's prophecy of the 1,000-year reign of peace, penned over two thousand years ago in his Book of Revelation, is a beacon of hope. As we stand on the threshold of the millennium, John's words guide us towards a future where the world transitions to a state of Heaven on Earth, the 'world to come,' a term in the Bible that refers to a future era of peace and harmony. This prophecy fills us with optimism and a sense of purpose as we ponder its implications on our current state of affairs. As we step into the new millennium, the Apostle John's prophecy sheds light on the transformative changes awaiting our world. It not only answers the question of how the world can evolve into a more loving environment for the future but also ignites a sense of hope and anticipation about the speed of this transformation. Moreover, John's revelation about the end of control by the Dark Forces promises an end to the bloody conflicts and devastating turmoil that have marred human history, filling us with excitement and hope for the future.Mr. Grady's spiritual journey is a unique and compelling one. In the fall of 1999, he underwent a profound spiritual baptism from God, a transformative event that led him to practice Self-Realization Fellowship. His journey began with meditation, which prepared him to receive the spark of love that engulfed his entire soul. His path led him to meet Apostle John through Marilyn Redmond for the Door to Glory book in 2011, and he has since published the book Where Is Your Light in 2023. We eagerly await his subsequent publication, The Incredible Journey of Our Savior.AMAZONhttps://douglasgradybooks.comhttps://bookstolifemarketing.com/http://www.bluefunkbroadcasting.com/root/twia/121825app.mp3

From Battlefield to Boardroom: A Global Legacy of Courage, Compassion & Leadership This week, the Team Never Quit Podcast welcomes a truly extraordinary guest: Dr. Sudip Bose — emergency physician, Iraq War veteran, entrepreneur, medical innovator, and one of the world's most dynamic voices at the intersection of medicine, military leadership, and business. Few leaders embody resilience and global perspective the way Dr. Bose does. His story spans continents, combat zones, emergency rooms, and corporate boardrooms—all shaped by deep heritage and a lifelong commitment to service. A Legacy Rooted in Courage and Heritage Born in the United States to parents who emigrated from Kolkata, Dr. Bose carries a powerful cultural heritage. Fluent in Bengali and proud of his lineage, he is a descendant of: · Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, legendary freedom fighter · Jagadish Chandra Bose, pioneering scientist · Satyendra Nath Bose, the physicist behind the concept of bosons Their spirit of bravery, intellectual curiosity, and innovation lives on in Dr. Bose's own journey. Leadership Forged in War Dr. Bose's leadership was tested early—on the front lines of Iraq as a U.S. Army physician under the most intense combat conditions. He earned the Bronze Star Medal for his service and was entrusted with treating Saddam Hussein after his capture. More than the accolades, the battlefield taught him the principles that guide his life: · Stay calm when others panic · Find clarity in chaos · Turn adversity into opportunity · Let heritage and values anchor global impact These lessons follow him into every trauma bay, boardroom, and keynote stage he steps into today. From the ER to the Global Stage After returning from combat, Dr. Bose transitioned into civilian life—continuing his work as an emergency physician while expanding his influence across medicine, media, innovation, and policy. His roles include: · Executive Producer of Desert Doc, the Telly Award–winning Amazon Prime docuseries revealing the realities of emergency medicine · Founder of The Battle Continues, a nonprofit supporting injured combat veterans · EMS Medical Director for the largest geographic hospital coverage area in the U.S.—19 counties and 38,000 square miles · Advisory Board Member for DrB.ai, a global digital health platform increasing access to affordable care · Trusted Advisor to the U.S. Congress on healthcare policy · Keynote Speaker for Fortune 500 companies and major financial institutions Across everything he does, Dr. Bose bridges healthcare, military discipline, and business strategy—helping leaders thrive in high-stakes environments. This is a masterclass in courage, clarity, service, and global leadership—told by a man who has lived it on every front line imaginable. In this episode you will hear: • [My sister] She's a CEO but sometimes she's the CEO of my chaos. (7:46) • I basically started med school at 21; I got my MD at 25. (8:59) • I remember sitting with my dad and asking him: “What can I do where I don't have to study?” (10:58) • Things that are just tragic and sad; they shape you later. You don't realize it at the time. (11:47) • I think if they had an award in high school for least likely to go in the military, I might have gotten that award. Guess what? In Junior high – 6th grade – I weighed 49 pounds. I was tiny. I didn't hit 5' tall until my sophomore year of high school. (12:33) • I'm in the books as the Illinois state champion in wrestling, because nobody could match my weight division. (13:11) • You don't realize how your world can change in a moment, and what seems like irrelevant work or homework or assignments later in life might save your life. (16:32) • In Iraq, I find myself cooped up in this ambulance. An armored 5-7-7 track medical vehicle with metal wheels, jostling to the next section of Bagdad or Fallujah and then the vehicle comes to a screeching halt, the back door opens and you hop out like a frog jumping out of a blender. And you find yourself on the front lines of the battlefield. (21:33) • There are the mental challenges of losing people you know. (22:52) • You love [life] saves where you can have them unite with their family. (27:11) • Within hours of getting there, there were two soldiers that came in and I had to pronounce dead. You just realize, wow, you are in it now. (31:19) • You cant take care of everyone, but by training my medics, I multiplied myself. (34:02) • [Marcus] You scored the number 1 in the nation on your medical exam board; You scored at the top of the Army physical fitness test; A Bronze Star; Recognized by CNN as a CNN hero; You're one of the leading physicians in the world; [You served] The longest combat tour since WWII; You treated Saddam Hussein. (52:26) • I evaluated [Saddam Hussein] shortly after his capture. (56:10) • You have to put your feelings, emotions, everything side, so you can focus. (57:45) • Somebody told me I might be the only person who has ben face to face with Saddam Hussein and shaken hands with George W. Bush. (58:38) • The people who gave their lives, their vision, their limb, made the ultimate sacrifice for our nation. Those people wrote the blank check, up to and including the cost of my life. That's what keeps me motivated. (59:48) • The journey keeps going forward and the battle continues… (75:55) Support Dr. Bose: - Website: https://www.docbose.com/ - IG: https://www.instagram.com/drsudipbose?igsh=MWZhbjJqNXNxazk2aA== - Watch “Desert Doc” —> https://tr.ee/Wds2TOBWTP - YouTube —> https://tr.ee/DlNDNGdGo0 Support TNQ - IG: team_neverquit , marcusluttrell , melanieluttrell , huntero13 - https://www.patreon.com/teamneverquit Sponsors: - Tractorsupply.com/hometownheroes - Navyfederal.org - mizzenandmain.com [Promo code: TNQ20] - Dripdrop.com/TNQ - ShopMando.com [Promo code: TNQ] - meetfabiric.com/TNQ - masterclass.com/TNQ - Prizepicks (TNQ) - cargurus.com/TNQ - armslist.com/TNQ - PXGapparel.com/TNQ - bruntworkwear.com/TNQ - Groundnews.com/TNQ - shipsticks.com/TNQ - stopboxusa.com {TNQ} - ghostbed.com/TNQ [TNQ] - kalshi.com/TNQ - joinbilt.com/TNQ - Tonal.com [TNQ] - greenlight.com/TNQ - PDSDebt.com/TNQ - drinkAG1.com/TNQ - Hims.com/TNQ - Shopify.com/TNQ

Jake Aronoff is a human biologist studying immune function and aging from an evolutionary and ecological perspective. During his PhD, he studied how stress and social inequality impacts inflammation and immunosenescence in the Philippines and US. He is currently a postdoctoral researcher at ASU studying inflammation and aging with Ben Trumble and the Tsimane Health and Life History Project. These studies focus on the development of chronic inflammation in later life (inflammaging), the links between metabolic and immune function (immunometabolism and meta-inflammation), and the relationship between infections, inflammation, and brain aging. His research also utilizes life history theory and energetic trade-offs to understand complex changes in biological functioning in later life, like the simultaneous occurrence of inflammaging and immunosenescence. ------------------------------ Find the paper discussed in this episode: Aronoff, J. The More Sibyl Podcast Presents: 학문의 전설| The Incredible Journey of an Academic Medicine Legend — The One With Professor Onatolu Odukoya | Episode 25 (2025)Legacy. Leadership. Life Lessons. This episode on The More Sibyl Podcast is surely unforgettable. I had the privilege of sitting down with Professor Onatolu Odukoya, the former Chief Medical Director of Lagos University Teaching Hospital. What began as a conversation about legacy evolved into an enriching dialogue about purpose, faith, leadership, and the wisdom that comes with age. We explored his remarkable academic career, starting with his early days as a standout scholar who would later make his mark at Harvard. We discussed the evolution of Nigeria's medical education system, particularly in light of emerging technologies like AI and their impact on diagnostics. Professor Odukoya expressed cautious optimism about the future, hopeful that, with the right reforms and vision, both medical education and the broader healthcare sector in Nigeria can grow and thrive. Now in retirement, Professor Odukoya is far from idle. He continues to serve on several medical and community boards, including the Holy Trinity Hospital Board and the Academy of Medical Sciences. He shared candidly about the fears many high achievers have around retirement, especially the fear of becoming irrelevant, but offered a powerful model for staying engaged and purposeful through service, planning, and faith. We also discussed his newly released memoir, which chronicles his life of discipline, faith, loss, and service. It's not just a story of accomplishments, but of values: how he and his wife have deliberately passed down faith and integrity to their children and grandchildren. This episode is a rich blend of wisdom, history, and practical advice. Whether you're an academic, a parent, a leader, or someone reflecting on your own legacy, Professor Odukoya's story will leave you both challenged and inspired.Oh—and something BIG is coming this month. From the Streets to Significance: Ken's Incredible Journey of Redemption In this powerful episode, I sit down with Ken—a remarkable individual whose life journey redefines perseverance, transformation, and the human spirit. Born into hardship as the son of a teenage runaway and a pimp in New York City, Ken's early years were marked by instability, foster care, and adoption. Despite earning his way to Dartmouth and achieving academic success, he faced a decades-long battle with addiction, homelessness, and multiple felony convictions. But Ken's story doesn't end in darkness. In September 2024, he proudly celebrated 20 years of sobriety. Now a thriving business owner, Ken channels his energy into uplifting others and paying it forward. The Turning Point: Choosing Growth Over a Life Sentence Ken opens up about his time in prison, sharing a raw and honest perspective on the prison system, recovery, and the choices that can change everything. He identifies three common paths among inmates and the pivotal mindset shift that ultimately saved his life. During his third incarceration, Ken committed to rebuilding every part of himself—mentally, emotionally, physically, and spiritually. That commitment led him to a halfway house, a dedicated sponsor, and the intentional decision to reconnect with society in a meaningful way. "Becoming Ken": A Story of Hope, Healing, and Humanity Ken's book, Becoming Ken, is more than a memoir—it's a blueprint for transformation. We dive into the book's core themes: understanding personal motivation, embracing pain as a teacher, and the critical importance of self-awareness and growth. Writing this book was no small feat, and Ken's transparency about the process is both inspiring and empowering for anyone facing life's hard chapters. Hard Truths, Bold Choices, and a Call to Action Ken and I also unpack the importance of courage in making life-altering decisions. He reminds us that pain isn't something to avoid—it's something to navigate. And when you face it head-on, healing becomes possible. Ken urges listeners to seek support, make bold choices, and above all, give back. His book launch is right around the corner, and he welcomes anyone who wants to learn more or connect directly.

In this powerful episode, host Vincent sits down with Jason Wood—a former U.S. Army officer, combat veteran, and endurance athlete—to share his extraordinary journey of transformation and healing. Jason served seven years on active duty, completing three combat tours in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. After transitioning to civilian life in 2011, he faced personal struggles with PTSD, depression, and alcoholism before discovering the life-changing benefits of endurance sports. Drawing on his experiences, Jason explains how he turned to extreme physical challenges—running 100 miles in under 24 hours on multiple occasions, completing a 101-mile run with a 20-pound weighted vest, enduring a 150-mile treadmill run in 48 consecutive hours, and even climbing Mount Kilimanjaro—as a path to recovery. James Tour EXPOSES the Shocking Truth About Life's Origins! The origin of life on Earth stands as one of the great mysteries of science. Various answers have been proposed, but chemist and nanotechnologist Dr. James Tour believes the science behind these theories is largely false, and he continues to challenge top researchers to provide real evidence. Named one of the world's most influential scientific minds, Dr. James Tour often finds himself in the spotlight for his heated debates against secular scientists. In this interview, he explains why this topic is so important to him, how origin-of-life science has fallen short, and how a Jewish boy from New York fell in love with Jesus decades ago. What can one person do to change the world? Julia Butterfly Hill answered this question with an extraordinary act of courage and conviction. In 1997, with no formal training in activism or environmentalism, Julia climbed into a 1,000-year-old redwood tree named Luna and refused to come down for over two years. Her purpose?
