Evan and I both moved out to Chiang Mai in October 2014 for the Dropship Lifestyle e-commerce conference. And hot diggity! We still here folks! People always ask about living expenses out here, so I thought we'd just riff about it for 10 minutes to make it clear! I spend a little over $1000/mo including - $300/mo basic apartment room (after Aircon electric bill) - $300/mo or around $10/day (300baht) on food/coffee/water/snacks - $250/mo beer/partyspend - $100/mo Punspace coworking membership (optional) - $80/mo Crossfit Chiangmai membership - $80/mo motorbike rental - $25/mo 3G SIM card Overall, you can live off as little as $600/mo if u don't drink. But expect around $1000/mo if you go out once a week to party. And of course if you got cheese, you can ball out here for real cheap..... For just $1500 or $2000/mo you can live in nice condo and rent a real motorcycle if u want. 100baht = $3 USD! 1000 baht = $30 USD!
I met Thiru at the first annual Dropship Lifestyle Retreat in Chiang Mai October 2014 (Class of 2014 WOOT! Lol that is so funny to say) .. At the time he scrounged to get a week off his job just to make it out to the week-long conference about everything online biz, and upon going back go London he said y'all wait for me, I'LL BE BACK. ^^. And here we are, back in Chiang Mai. He's since travelled around India and the Philippines, worked in Australia, and is launching his first Amazon FBA private label product. We talk about his story of discovering the digital nomad lifestyle and the road to making it a reality, The 4-Hour Workweek Mindset, and ever going back to a 'regular job'? lol. We out chea! Today’s guest is Chase Yang, a California native, entrepreneur, ex-Googler, world traveler, and video blogger. He runs a business online that allows him to be location-independent. He brings with him an ungodly amount of gear and uses every bit of it to create photo and video content. We met at Punspace, the semi-famous coworking space in Chiang Mai, Thailand. Chase was working diligently on his video blog and editing photos while sweating excruciating details. I saw that he cared about quality and was willing to pay the price. During this interview we talked about Chase cutting the chains of in-office employment, burning the boats to start his online online business and leaving his relaxing home turf of LA behind to explore South East Asia, Australia and New Zealand. He is a trained actor and we talked about how acting can help you in life. We touched on Chase’s near-death experience after a horrific motorcycle accident. He also gives some indispensable tips on how to be productive while traveling. Enjoy!

Two days ago Thai Immigration detained 14 Digital Nomads after raiding the popular coworking space, PunSpace here in Chiang Mai. I was one of those 14, and in this episode we talk about the experience as well as why it might be a win for location independent entrepreneurs in Thailand. Also this is the official announcement for the lineup and schedule for the Drop Ship Lifestyle Retreat arranged by Anton from www.AntonMethod.com. He mentions who is speaking, and what the lifestyle activities will be for each day. Whether you are coming or not this year, you will get hyped up and want to get on a plane asap, or at least plan your trip for next year! In just one short week bootstrapping entrepreneur Ben Finnigan has accomplished more, and spent less than he had previously dreamed of. With a budget of $750US a month, Ben's goal was to be up and running within a month, but what he failed to realize is how easy life is in Chiang Mai, Thailand. Within 8 days Ben has launched two websites, brought his dormant eCommerce store back to life, made almost $400 in profit, furnished his apartment and met tons of other entrepreneurs along the way. In 40 episodes I've never asked a guest to be on the show back to back, but Ben's story had to be shared. In this episode Ben talks about how he had to rebook his flight 4 times to finally make it, how he helped fix Johnny's terrible squat form within days instead of months, and if PunSpace really lives up to the hype. http://www.TravelLikeaBossPodcast.com
