Tired, hungry, slightly daze and confused, Revelstoke Jim stumbles his way back to the Log Broadcasting Centre in order to get back on the air and bring his words and thoughts to the people. Joining him for a, slightly loud, conversation is Author and Podcaster, Brennan Storr. Listen to the boys tell tales of past and future endeavours. Special appearance by about a dozen trains.
As we head into the last month of 2018 - a little surprise. Some of my favourite poems by Robert W. Service, "Bard Of The Yukon"

Holy tangent Batman! The Knights tried to talk about their experience seeing their Flick Pick Raiders of the Lost Ark at Irvine Meadows with Pacific Symphony playing the score live, but instead they launched off into a massive tangent that started with Kitteh being pissed at not being able to find out information about Jaws on the beach. Ceebs enjoyed the bad parenting a bit too much while Kat had a very unmotivated day, but then there’s the tubes, oh the tubes. The Knights were joined in the Mixlr chat by Revelstoke Jim (@RevelstokeJim), CaperGirlMel (@CaperGirlMel), Dianae (@Dianae173), Marc Thorner (@markoshark), and Marianne (@mv_ughn).
Kitteh gets back in touch with his artistic side and pushes Ceebs’ buttons. Ceebs shares a couple stories about how she stepped out of her comfort zone and gets shut down, got emo about the Olympics, and freaked out at the movie theater. The Flick Pick of the week is Suicide Squad and both Knights agree that they didn’t hate it, but they didn’t didn’t hate it as well. Happy Birthday Ryan! The Knights were joined in the Mixlr chat by Revelstoke Jim (@RevelstokeJim), Qassem166, Matt Quinton (@nittwit12345), Marc Thorner (@markoshark), and Marianne (@mv_ughn).
The Knights return for a longer episode where they get a little heavier on what is going on in their lives before moving on to chatting about their Flick Pick. It all starts with the tale of breakfast adventure where the Knights enjoy the local fare like uneven blueberry muffins, odd gravy and a big biscuit. Kitteh shares a story about the overnight manager that he unaffectionately calls Douche Monkey. Ceebs shares a story about an argument that interrupted her meditation, but it’s ok because she is excited about a friendship that blossomed with the return of Wine Wednesday. Ceebs also shares how she is being more active by biking to work, which is great because she’s seeking alternate transporation options. Audio issues plague the episode, but the Knights soldier on and eventually get to talking about Cast Away, their very heavy Flick Pick for the week. The Knights were joined in the Mixlr chat by Revelstoke Jim (@RevelstokeJim), and Dianae (@Dianae173).
In their latest audio adventure, the Knights go to the symphony, but first they had to have a fight which Kitteh didn’t even notice. It’s a week without a Flick Pick, so the Knights focused on their experiences in the last 24 hours instead. The Knights were joined in the Mixlr chat by Revelstoke Jim (@RevelstokeJim), Johnny Whitetrash (@NotThatJohnny), Ryan Connolly (@kaarval), Dianae Weeks (@dianae173) Marianne (@mv_ughn), and Huney Whitetrash (@omgwtfhuney).
The Knights continue to battle the low levels monster but they emerge victoriousish. Kitteh has a new toy and the conversation get pretty graphic, while Ceebs sets a new professional goal. The Knights saw Ghostbusters on opening knight and both Knights gave it an official didn’t hate it. After ceding the on going battle with their mixer, the Knights wrapped up by gushing at Tombstone, their Flick Pick for the week. The Knights were joined in the Mixlr chat by Revelstoke Jim (@RevelstokeJim), Tom Kaytt (@tkaytt), Dianae Weeks (@dianae173), Marc Thorner (@markoshark), and Marianne (@mv_ughn).
The Knights return for another for another round of finding talking to be hard. The Cat is in pain, but he had a mostly good week. Ceebs not so much. After their last Flick Pick of Independence Day the Knights saw Independence Day: Ressurgence and they share their thoughts. This weeks’ Flick Pick is Super Mario Brothers which both Knights admit isn’t a great movie, but they love it anyway. The Knights were joined in the Mixlr chat by Revelstoke Jim (@RevelstokeJim), Papa Mayor (@MayorOfBeertown), Marc Thorner (@markoshark), and Dianae Weeks (@dianae173).
After recording episode 137, there were things that were left unsaid, and Kitteh wanted to say them. Welcome to the Addendumb-dumb to 137, brought to you by a couple idiots with microphones. The Knights were joined in the Mixlr chat by Revelstoke Jim (@RevelstokeJim), Tom Kaytt (@tkaytt), and Marianne (@mv_ughn).
Tech issues throw Ceebs big time, but that doesn’t stop the Knights returning for another installment of not safe for work verbal diarrhea that ends on a high note. Ceebs still doesn’t enjoy Batman v Superman, while Kat wishes he had able to see it in the theater. The Flick Pick for this truncated episode is 1996’s Independence Day. The Knights were joined in the Mixlr chat by Revelstoke Jim (@RevelstokeJim), Tom Kaytt (@tkaytt), Dianae Weeks (@dianae173), and Ryan Connolly (@kaarval).
Ceebs fell in her battle battle with the stress monster, but her partner in pod valiantly picked his fallen comrade up and delivered her to the medics, injuring himself in the process. Fear not dear listener for The Knights have returned the Sand Castle Studio to share their tales from the medic tent, the discovery of the British mini-series Hit & Miss following the life of a transgender hit woman, as well as their experience at OC Pride. The Flick Pick for the week is the hilariously over the top dramady, The Birdcage. The Knights were joined in the Mixlr chat by Revelstoke Jim (@RevelstokeJim), Caper Girl Mel (@CaperGirlMel), Dianae Weeks (@Dianae173), Marc Thorner (@markoshark), and Marianne (@mv_ughn).
It’s been nearly two months since The Knights have released an episode, but they are back and have debuted a new version of their intro! Kat shares a story about how he got a mason jar from a very Smirnoff nIce lady. Ceebs blathers on about going to the Dodgers game with her dad before sharing a story about the most bizarre play she’s ever seen in the stadium. The Flick Pick was nearly Zootopia and the Knights discuss the joy it brought to both of them before getting into their actual Flick Pick, Clerks II. While discussing the Flick Pick questions were raised, such as wether the imagined name of a cow can be a racial, and the Knights even came up with a potential plot for Clerks III set at a voyeuristic marijuana dispensary. The Knights were joined in the Mixlr chat by Revelstoke Jim (@RevelstokeJim), Dianae (@dianae173), Marc Thorner (@markoshark), and Marianne (@mv_ughn).
In this intallment the Knights had every intention of discussing Brad Williams’ latest showtime special Daddy Issues, but instead they focused how they saw him live at Brea Improv the night before. The Knights were joined in the Mixlr chat by Revelstoke Jim (@RevelstokeJim), Papa Mayor (@MayorOfBeertown), Comic Newb (@comicnewb), Marc Thorner (@markoshark), and Marianne (@mv_ughn).
A botched episode release distracts Ceebs before she starts sharing her experience speaking about being transgender at a local high school. Topics include the celebraiton of Towel Day, Star Wars birthday, and a new comic shop. The Flick Pick for the week is Clueless, a quintessential 90’s teen hit. A long stinger brings a shout out to Johnny’s new show That 90’s Show and plans to see Brad Williams live the following week. The Knights were joined in the Mixlr chat by Revelstoke Jim (@revelstokejim), Tom Sherlock (@judgefunkyboy), Ryan Connolly (@kaarval), Dianae (@Dianae173), and Marianne (@mv_ughn).
In this installment the Knights start silly, and then follow a tangent and briefly discuss the tragic fire up north in Fort McMurray. Incapable of being serious for too long, the Knights dive into topics such as Free Comic Book Day, LEGO Dimensions, plans to harness Ceebs’ allergies as a renewable energy source and Kitteh’s coronation. The Flick Pick for the week is Captain America: Civil War which the Knights saw just 8 hours prior to the start of the show, and they totally didn’t hate it. The Knights were joined in the Mixlr chat by Revelstoke Jim (@RevelstokeJim), Ryan Connolly (@kaarval), Dianae (@Dianae173), and Marianne (@mv_ughn).
For the last day of April, the Knights celebrate by discussing root canals, anxiety Xenomorphs, Uber rides, Deadpool digital downloads, caveat emptor suckers, and the OG Birdman comic book movie, Condorman. This week’s Flick Pick is Stripes, a movie cherished by Kitteh, but nearly forgotten by Ceebs. The Knights were joined in the Mixlr chat by Revelstoke Jim (@RevelstokeJim), Marc Thorner (@markoshark), Ryan Connolly (@kaarval), Dianae (@Dianae173), and Marianne (@mv_ughn).
In this installment, Kitteh gets a haircut followed by getting more agitated and paranoid while Ceebs encourages him to smoke pot to take the edge off. The Knights thank Neil and Annaleis from Dark Angels and Pretty Freaks, profusely. Seriously, it was almost to excess, and by the end of the show, the chatters were even having fun with it. Multiple flicks were mentioned, but the Knights never landed on a Flick Pick so they talked about the packaging of their new Star War: The Force Awakens Blu-rays. For the record the Knights would like to take one more opportunity to thank Neil and Annaleis from Dark Angels and Pretty Freaks for joining them the previous week. The Knights were joined in the Mixlr chat by Marc Thoner (@markoshark), Dale Hu (@madzub), Ryan Connolly (@kaarval), Comic Newb (@ComicNewb), Revelstoke Jim (@RevelstokeJim), Tom Sherlock (@judgefunkyboy), Matt Quinton (@nittwit12345), Marianne (@mv_ughn), and gedidan fm.
This week Rafael and That Frakking Cat talk about how much they love Bohemian Rhapsody. This just proves you can't trust their taste in music. I mean we all know that Bohemian Rhapsody is the worst song ever, right? The whole reason the song came up was Rafael got press passes to a live Wayne's World event that he's going to put the link to right here: Klick Me . They also get all emo about Finland and Revelstoke Jim before bitching relentlessly about the postal service. The irony of a service not being here to please them. You know who else isn't here to please you? Donald Trump, Kayne West, Mr. Burns and Bond villains as we learn when we play the Who Said It Game. This time we have a real mishmash of things that don’t really connect at all. We have Ahnuld, Vanity Fair, Take That, TV sets, Jack the Ripper, plans for a time capsule, and a non-acceptable emotional support animal in there. And even after all that, there’s still time for a chat Rafael had with Revelstoke Jim a while back. Welcome to Epi90 of Succotash, the Comedy Podcast Podcast, the show that tracks down clips of comedy podcasts from all over the web and sweeps them into a neat pile every week or so for you to scoop up with your dustpan-like ears and enjoy. You, dear reader, must also like to sweep a little bit into your eyes, since you're visiting the show blog. We’ve got a jammed packed episode: A half a dozen podcast clips. TWO of our Burst O’ Durst segments with political comedian and social commentator Will Durst, who talks to us about the Washington Redskins debacle and how to properly observe the 4th of July. A brand new Henderson’s Pants commercial for their "Camo CutOffs". Not to mention the TweetSack. But we also have a special guest for Epi90, making his return to the Succotash microphones: Jordan Brady, who was here last time to talk about his documentary called I Am Comic. Now he has his followup movie out – which he was musing about doing the last time we chatted with him – and it’s called I Am ROAD Comic. It’s a funny documentary and neat little study of comedy and comics on the road. I’m very excited to have Jordan back on the show and he was very kind to give me a lot of time in our Skype chat which you will hear in this episode. The interview is pretty long, so the show is front-loaded with the clips and other business and then we’ll spent the rest of the episode with Jordan. Since he last joined us, he’s also become a podcaster, hosting Respect The Process. It's a show about the world of commercial film production and we talk about that in our interview as well. (BTW, the title for this epi's blog came from a lip slip I made while talking to Jordan - a cross between chatting and Twitter, which was inadvertently coined to describe carrying on a prolonged exchange with someone via Twitter. Too bad Rich Hall doesn't write Sniglets books any more!) THE 10 MOST ACTIVE SHOWS ON STITCHER'S TOP 100 COMEDY PODCAST LIST I'm not sure if anyone really appreciates or enjoys this feature but I do! It keeps me looking at the top-ranked shows on Stitcher and that helps me to stay in touch with what's going on out there in PodcastLand. So a shout-out to Ed Wallick from the Don't Quit Your Daycast podcast who gave me the idea for this list in the first place! An offshoot of that is my appreciation of Dean's yodel of our show's name, which has begun to really develop over time, as can be heard over the theme song for this installment and again at the tail end of the show. CLIPS Thanks, as always, to our Associate Producer Tyson Saner, who provided a number of the clips heard this episode! The Geek GenerationThis clip - from a podcast we’ve featured before – was provided by the main man behind the show, Rob Logan. He says, “We've started playing a game on The Geek Generation called Smash-Up, which combines two categories or concepts of things together, creating some hilarious results for things you've probably never heard of. Recently, our Smash-Up category was to combine Godzilla with any other movie, and in this clip myself and my co-host Mikey read the responses sent in from our super-creative fans.” Word to the wise: Comedy podcasters are welcome to submit 3-5 minute MP3 or WAV clips from their shows to clips@SuccotashShow.com, and we'll feature them on the show! Proudly ResentsFriend-of-Succotash and past special guest Adam Spiegelman recently posted a "Succotash Shoutout" version of his show Proudly Resents. He had some bits, pieces, and tail ends of interview from his podcast so he put them together, Succotash-fashion, to serve to his listeners. Thanks, Adam! We're featuring part of that stew: A snippet of a conversation Adam had with filmmaker Jeremy Sklar. Revelstoke Jim’s Canadian ContentTyson harvested this next clip and, he couldn’t have known this, but I’ve been aware of Revelstoke Jim since the early aughts. It was around the year 2000 or 2001 that I began to make a series of guest appearances on But Seriously, an early webcast – there was an attempt by some broadcast-oriented companies to livecast shows – hosted by comedian Brian Malow. His show was part of a rudimentary network of shows and the one that was on right after his was hosted by none other than Revelstoke Jim. So I would catch snippets of his show. Here, some decade and some years later, is yet another snippet, live and direct from Revelstoke, British Columbia. Comedy And Everything ElseWe had comedian Fred Stoller on Succotash way back in Epi15 when we were one of the first podcasts that he’s been a guest on. Since then, Fred’s become a favorite guest of a lot of shows. (So many, in fact, that I’m surprised he hasn’t started one of his own, because he’d be a great host, I think.) He was on a recent episode of Comedy & Everything Else, hosted by comedian Jimmy Dore and Stefanie Zamorano, who co-host a solid, funny show (in league with Dore's own The Jimmy Dore Show.) Green Up!The world of pop culture-based comedy podcasts is both deep and wide, which means there are a lot of them. Tyson found us this one, which I hadn’t heard of before, hosted by Roy, Phillip, and Ryan. (Or, as they refer to themselves on their show blog, “three fatties”.) Their focus is on video games – console and PC, as well as TV, movies, and podcasts. (Hmm. Wonder if they ever mention SuccotashI?) In this clip, they’re musing about getting a-whuppin’ as a kind of celebration of Father’s day. There's your Epi90 in a bloggy nutshell. Enjoy! And don't say I never gave you anything… — Marc Hershon
