Ritch Shydner is the absolute best of the best. Incredibly funny, giving, and a wealth of wisdom and stories from a lifetime on the road and in show business as an actor and writer. His documentary “I Am Comic” is one of the best documentaries on comedy I've ever seen and his book “I Killed” will actually put you in the time and place of the worlds best comics as they talk about their stories from the road. We cover a lot in an hour but we'll def have him back for more. Enjoy!
Conversation #186, recorded on October 18, 2021. Ritch Shydner has a long history in the stand-up comedy game, appearing on Johnny Carson's Tonight Show and the early days of David Letterman. He's gone on to be a prolific comedy writer, working with Jeff Foxworthy, Jay Leno, Bill Maher, Roseanne and even Norm MacDonald. His return to stand-up was charted in the 2010 documentary I AM COMIC, and he helped compile great stories of the road in the essential comedy text I KILLED. Now he's putting his mind for comedy history to good use with his new one-man show A HISTORY OF STAND-UP COMEDY FROM THE CIVIL WAR TO TODAY: 160 Years of Standup in 90 Minutes. This one-of-a-kind crash course in comedy is a link to the past of the an art form that has never been popular and somehow not often understood. He's got shows at Yard Theatre on Melrose in LA on Oct 21 and 22, and will be booking more events across the country in late 2021. Hail Satire! is hosted and produced by Vic Shuttee. Further credits at hailsatire.com - Big thanks to Robert Price for our original theme music, Pin Lim for photography and Brendon Duran for the Hail Satire! logo design.

Recently seen in the new Mike Binder documentary on the Comedy Store on showtime Felicia Michales has been a staple of the Los Angeles stand-up scene since she was 18. She has appeared in three movies: Smart Alex, directed by Steve Oedekerk; Los Enchiladas, directed by Mitch Hedberg; and, most recently, I Am Comic, directed by Jordan Brady. She was a regular on the TV show Parental Discretion. Also a photographer - her 2008 photography project, titled "Stand Up / Stripped Down", documents comedians and the mystery of what happens backstage in the shadows that lead from the green room to the power of the stage. "Stand Up / Stripped Down" received first place for the people's choice at the 2008 edition of The Prix de la Photographie, Paris, for photojournalism. She is also a recipient of a CINE Golden Eagle Award for In The Weeds, a short film she wrote and directed. We had a blast talking about comedy, the scene she came up in, how it's changed and what's been going on pre and post pandemic. Enjoy!!

If you’re a comic, you most likely own a copy of “I Killed: True Stories of the Road from America’s Top Comics,” a book of short stories compiled by comedy legend Ritch Shydner. Over a 30-year career, Ritch has seen it all and done it all. We met after I read (and loved) his second book, “Kicking Through the Ashes.” We discuss his books, doing comedy at a time when it wasn’t even called “stand-up” yet, the comedy boom of the 80s, open-mics to being on Carson, and hanging with Dangerfield.Pat House is a nationally-touring comedian based out of Philadelphia. A regular performer in comedy clubs, casinos, and theaters all over the country, Pat has been a choice opener for Sebastian Maniscalco, Tom Segura, and Dan Cummins. He recorded his first album Biggest Thing in 2013, and his latest album Heard Enough Yesterday, hit #1 on the iTunes comedy charts. Both can be heard on iTunes, Amazon and Pandora.Ritch's new book, Kicking Through The Ashes: My Life as a Stand-up in the 1980's Comedy Explosion, is OUT NOW! In 2016 I had the privilege to join the cast of the third film in Jordan Brady's I am Comic trilogy. Jordan is a commercial director now, and he's a seasoned documentarian, but he's also directed Hollywood features, hosted MTV game shows, and in a lesser known piece of trivia, is the inventor of the phrase "bow chicka bow wow," which was a signature piece in a very successful stand up comedy career. The film I'm in, I Am Battle Comic, looks at what it's like to perform for the United States military overseas. It touts a star studded cast of comedians, much like the previous two films in the trilogy, I Am Road Comic, and the cult classic that started it all, I Am Comic. I Am Comic features interviews with Phyllis Diller, Jeff Foxworthy, Lewis Black, Tim Allen, as well as a host of known and unknown names at the time, and I can't recommend it enough as a primer on stand up comedy beyond what you see in a typical Netflix special. More importantly, Jordan and I have become friends, and his optimistic approach to the world of entertainment is infectious. I sat down with him to find out the stories behind his and how he goes about making things. You can visit Jordan's world of commercial directing at www.CommercialDirectingFilmSchool.com Also, try Jordan's Oso Delicious Hot Sauce. I personally keep a bottle of each at the house, because the Texan in me loves a little heat. Visit www.OsoDelicious.org, where $1 from every bottle bought, stolen, or broken goes to the National Military Family Association, another organization I care deeply about. Part 2 might be a little bit off (about half way through). Clint and i have 2 completely different talking voices and i bumped the mixer...so all my fault. Clint was born and raised in rural Indiana, the youngest of four children in a very funny household. He learned at a very early age, the best way to be heard by the rest of his family was to make them laugh. This was a lesson Clint carried with him on into school. Even in high school, he much preferred to entertain his basketball teammates with his jokes and impressions on long bus trips to actually playing in the games. After college Clint began working for the State of Indiana where he has remained as an employee or contractor for the past twenty-six years, first as an eligibility worker with the Food Stamp and Medicaid office and now as a Vocational Rehabilitation counselor. Clint still knew he wanted to entertain people which would lead him to professional wrestling. This experience allowed Clint to entertain as, stretch as a performer, get experience on the microphone and learn how to read an audience. Clint would continue in professional wrestling for five years eventually sharing cards with many stars of the day including former NWA World Champions Tommy "Wildfire" Rich and Barry Windham and WWE Hall of Famers "Mr. Perfect" Curt Hennig and Terry "Bam Bam" Gordy. Even then Clint’s decidedly unfit "Mr. Fitness" character was played more for laughs than menace. Eventually, after being inspired by the documentary "I Am Comic", Clint found his true calling in stand-up comedy. Over the past ten years Clint has quietly and steadily honed his craft. Along the way Clint has performed shows for organizations such as Touch Inc., Optimal Rhythms Inc./Access Academy, The TSA/AIDS Holiday Project, Special Olympics and Kosair Shriners and shared stages with performers as varied as Tonight Show veteran Mack Dryden, Chelsae Lately regular Christina Pazsitzky and Heywood Banks. It was after a show together in 2018 that Heywood Banks suggested the Clean Comedy Challenge to Clint. Clint followed this advice to attain his greatest success to date by winning the highly regarded 10th annual Clean Comedy Challenge in Nashville Tennessee against a stacked field of seasoned pros.

Tommy Davidson is in the Chicagoland area and will perform at the Chicago Improv, Saturday December 22nd at 7pm and 9:15pm. Tommy joined Jonathan Hood to talk about his career in comedy, working for Fox on the hit tv show "In Living Color" as well as Fox NFL Sunday. Davidson also talks about the state of comedy in 2018 and much more. Davidson started his career as a stand-up comedian in Washington DC, earning an ardent following with sheer hard work in various comedy clubs. As one of the cutting-edge, young stand-ups, he was spotted by major concert promoters, who booked him as the opening act for A-list touring acts, including Patti LaBelle, Kenny G and Luther Vandross. It wasn't long before he came to Hollywood and was performing stand-up at a number of clubs, including the Comedy Act Theatre, where he met Robert Townsend. This led to his first national television appearance, with a starring role in Partners in Crime (2005) and was the conduit to Keenen Ivory Wayans, who proved instrumental in Davidson's career by offering him an opportunity to audition and join the uniquely talented cast of the most adventurous prime-time variety show of its day, In Living Color (1990). He, Jamie Foxx, Jim Carrey and Damon Wayans made TV history with their originality. Tommy's impressive film debut was opposite Halle Berry in Strictly Business (1991). He immediately segued into select high-profile films, starring opposite Jada Pinkett Smith in the romantic comedy, Woo (1998) (New Line), and in the provocative urban comedy, Booty Call (1997) (Columbia Pictures). His credits include numerous feature film roles, from Spike Lee's Bamboozled (2000), where he received acclaim and praise for his turn as "Womack/Sleep 'N Eats", to Juwanna Mann (2002) (Morgan Creek Productions') and the pivotal cameo in Jim Carrey's Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls (1995), which has become a cult favorite. Davidson's hilarious impressions of Sammy Davis Jr., Michael Jackson and other icons have become infamous. His visibility on In Living Color (1990) led to three Showtime specials: "On Strength of New York", "Illin' in Philly" and "Takin' it to DC". His elasticity as a performer who delivers on both the big and small screen led to other projects like the lead in the Disney's animated series, The Proud Family (2001), and as a host on FOX's "The NFL Show", alongside football greats Michael Irvin and Tony Siragusa. Davidson also portrays the lead in Will Smith's up-and-coming animated series, "Youngin's" (2000). Tommy stars - along with 80 other star stand-ups - in I Am Comic (2010), opposite Tim Allen, Lewis Black, Sarah Silverman, Carlos Mencia, Jeff Foxworthy and Kathy Griffin. The film, which premiered on Showtime, is one of Netflix's surefire hits, enjoying a continual surge as a favorite with consumers. Davidson scored big with reviewers and audiences, alike, opposite Michael Jai White, in the critically-lauded spoof comedy, Black Dynamite (2009) (Sony Pictures), last year's big Sundance hit, which is currently being adapted as a cartoon for Adult Swim. He is receiving critical raves for a cameo in Ahmed Ahmed's award-winning documentary, Just Like Us (2010), a feature film masterpiece which is a cross-cultural study of stand-up comedy bridging all ethnicity. Tommy travels internationally selling out every venue in which he headlines.

Who is Abraham Lincoln: Abraham Lincoln, a self-taught lawyer, legislator and vocal opponent of slavery, was elected 16th president of the United States in November 1860, shortly before the outbreak of the Civil War. Lincoln proved to be a shrewd military strategist and a savvy leader: His Emancipation Proclamation paved the way for slavery’s abolition, while his Gettysburg Address stands as one of the most famous pieces of oratory in American history. In April 1865, with the Union on the brink of victory, Abraham Lincoln was assassinated by Confederate sympathizer John Wilkes Booth; his untimely death made him a martyr to the cause of liberty, and he is widely regarded as one of the greatest presidents in U.S. history. But you knew that. Enter an upside-down world, where trailers & commercials are the main feature! The world of MONSTER PARTY!
At some point, I assume we’re going to get a documentary titled "I Am Jordan Brady, Comic." Brady, a sometime comic, has made several documentary films over the last decade following standup comedians in their lives on and off the stage. These include I Am Comic, I Am Road Comic, and his latest, I Am Battle Comic. In the new film, Brady is once more behind the camera and occasionally in front of it, this time going on tour with comedians entertaining American troops in live battle zones overseas.
Jordan is a director, a comic, and a dad. He has his latest film in the I Am Comic series, I Am Battle Comic, available at iambattlecomic.com. We talk about the film, raising teenage daughters and grown sons, Spanglish (not the movie), comedy specials, and a movie heckle turning into a sale. jordanbrady.com iambattlecomic.com kiracomedy.com karenandkiracanread.com allthingscomedy.com

Yes! It’s me, Marc Hershon, your host and stain-resistant fabric for Epi157 of Succotash, the Comedy Soundcast Soundcast. And we are NOT the only personal audio program using the new “soundcast” description. I just got a listen to Epi 7 of the Los Angeles Breakfast Club ON THE AIR and the host, Phil Leirness, mentions soundcast in relation to that show. Which, BTW, is a lot of fun. Phil’s got tracks from the LABC dating back to the 1920’s all the way up to last month. And the show has an adequate announcer, too. They can't afford themselves a Bill Heywatt yet, so I agreed to do it. Check out the Los Angeles Breakfast Club ON THE AIR. They’re on libsyn, iTunes, and other distribution points across the vast intertubes. I’ll have to feature a snippet on a future Succotash Clips. But not THIS episode. Because this episode is a Succotash Chats show. And our Special Guest is Jordan Brady, who is making a speedy return to this program. He was with us for our sesquicentennial Episode 150 and now, with his third movie in the I Am Comic trilogy being released to the public for streaming and download, I wanted to have him back. I Am Battle Comic is available on Amazon, iTunes, and some other places, PLUS you can purchase a download directly from the http://IamBattleComic.com homesite. It's always a delight to chat with Jordan. And you can read my review of I Am Battle Comic on HuffPost, This episode of Succotash is brought to you by Henderson's Pants "Back to S'cool" trousers, the pantaloons that are literally too cool for school. NO BURST O' DURST We missed our window to get the week's latest comedic harangue by San Francisco political comedian and social commentator Will Durst. But feel free to follow him @WillDurst on Twitter to catch up with his latest opinionated opinions. Don’t forget to support us on our new Patreon page. And you can always support us for free by heading over to iTunes to rate and review us there. I’ll talk to you next time you hear me, which will likely be on a subsequent installment of this here show. In the meantime, than you for passing the Succotash! — Marc Hershon

We love all of the guests that have come by the chicken coop to chat with us. So many diverse folks with amazing outlooks on life, have sprinkled their magic on us and we are so grateful. It's a task and a half to coordinate just Kurt and Joey's schedules, but to also pick a perfect time to accommodate our guests is extremely tough sometimes. This is one of those times. Sadly, Joey was too busy working in films and stuff to be around on the day we could snare Jordan Brady for the show, so, sadly, it's only half of the Dudes for this interview. But the good news is, Jordan was such a treat to talk to and we know you're going to love listening to all his stories about directing the I Am Comic documentaries, (There are three of them now!), Directing commercials, Going to Coachella with his son, bombing auditions as an actor and teaching others how to be top-notch commercial directors. There are a lot of laughs, wisdom and heart in this podcast to make up for the lack of Joey-ness. So listen and enjoy. Please go see Jordan's latest film: I AM BATTLE COMIC - Pre Orders are available now on his website: JORDANBRADY.COM and you can hit him up on facebook and Twitter: @DirJordanBrady Tell him you heard him here on @dofpcast Email us: Dudes@dudesoffuturepast.com Follow us on IG: @dofpcast, @joeybragg, @kurtlong73
Hello, friend, it IS I, Marc Hershon, your host and adorable Lapso Apso for our sesquicentennial installment – that’s Epi150 to you and me – of Succotash, the Comedy Soundcast Soundcast. It’s also the 6th anniversary of this show being on the web! This particular listening experience is a Succotash "Chatisode", and features third time returning special guest Jordan Brady! Jordan has just started galavanting around the good ol’ US of A to show off his newest documentary, I Am Battle Comic, the third chapter of his trilogy looking at the lives and careers, and the hopes and dreams, as well as the pain and suffering, of comedians. The first was I Am Comic which, you might recall from just a couple of episodes ago, focused on the efforts of our guest Ritch Shydner trying to re-ignite what had once been a pretty successful standup comedy career. The followup to that was I Am Road Comic, about the trials and tribulations of a comedian working the road today. That film featured another triple visit guest, Wayne Federman. You can likely guess the focus of his new film, I Am Battle Comic – it’s about stand-up comedians who muster up the courage to head into some of the gnarliest war zones that our men and women of the Armed Forces are stationed. The only reason to do so is to bring a few laughs into the lives of the servicemen and women in these god-forsaken hellholes, some of whom are stationed away from home for many months or even years at a time. Here's the red band trailer for the movie… The movie isn’t available for download yet – Jordan talks about when you can expect that in our interview – but he is traveling around, renting out theaters in different places around the country and showing. He often has one or more of the comedians featured in the film with him, too. In addition to Jordan Brady, we’ve got a double dose of our Burst O’ Durst with our resident political wonk & cultural observer Will Durst coming up in this episode. We also say goodbye to comedian Don Rickles, who passed away this week at the of 90, and play a bit from his 1969 album Don Rickles Speaks! This episode is brought to you by Henderson's Pants and their seasonal Spring Breakers. This show marks Succotash's 6th year of soundcasting — 150 episodes — and I want to thank you for your support. But as the world of soundcasting grows ever larger, your support is more important than ever. 5-star ratings iTunes rating, for instance, make a big difference in visibility for the show, and your glowing reviews make me wriggle like a happy puppy. We have never had a real paying sponsor for Succotash in the half-dozen years we've been going. A number of you, fortunately, have made use of the Donate button on our homesite. Or shopped on Amazon via the banner at the top of that very same homesite. Or some have even, in a few cases, purched some merch from the Succotashery. But financial support has come mostly from my own wallet. Operational costs aren't much — $30 bucks a month for web hosting, another $30 every month for publicity, then the odd purchase of promotional merch. Still, it adds up and I hope that if you enjoy listening to Succotash as much as I enjoy putting it out there, that you might feel right ponying up a few sheckels to help pull this thing together. We'll be back with an episode of Succotash Clips soon. If you're a comedy soundcaster and you'd like us to feature your show, you can upload a 3-5 minute MP3 clip directly to us at http://hightail.com/u/Succotash. And you can always email me at marc@SuccotashShow.com — Marc Hershon

What makes “I Am Road Comic” getting on Netflix so sweet, is that it represents a victory in micro-budget indie filmmaking. Keeping a tourniquet on spending, crafting a story with notable comics and a podcast-based PR campaign, it's finally paid off. This is my 5th film to land on Netflix. It all started with “I Am Comic”, but Netflix was…

Welcome to Epi90 of Succotash, the Comedy Podcast Podcast, the show that tracks down clips of comedy podcasts from all over the web and sweeps them into a neat pile every week or so for you to scoop up with your dustpan-like ears and enjoy. You, dear reader, must also like to sweep a little bit into your eyes, since you're visiting the show blog. We’ve got a jammed packed episode: A half a dozen podcast clips. TWO of our Burst O’ Durst segments with political comedian and social commentator Will Durst, who talks to us about the Washington Redskins debacle and how to properly observe the 4th of July. A brand new Henderson’s Pants commercial for their "Camo CutOffs". Not to mention the TweetSack. But we also have a special guest for Epi90, making his return to the Succotash microphones: Jordan Brady, who was here last time to talk about his documentary called I Am Comic. Now he has his followup movie out – which he was musing about doing the last time we chatted with him – and it’s called I Am ROAD Comic. It’s a funny documentary and neat little study of comedy and comics on the road. I’m very excited to have Jordan back on the show and he was very kind to give me a lot of time in our Skype chat which you will hear in this episode. The interview is pretty long, so the show is front-loaded with the clips and other business and then we’ll spent the rest of the episode with Jordan. Since he last joined us, he’s also become a podcaster, hosting Respect The Process. It's a show about the world of commercial film production and we talk about that in our interview as well. (BTW, the title for this epi's blog came from a lip slip I made while talking to Jordan - a cross between chatting and Twitter, which was inadvertently coined to describe carrying on a prolonged exchange with someone via Twitter. Too bad Rich Hall doesn't write Sniglets books any more!) THE 10 MOST ACTIVE SHOWS ON STITCHER'S TOP 100 COMEDY PODCAST LIST I'm not sure if anyone really appreciates or enjoys this feature but I do! It keeps me looking at the top-ranked shows on Stitcher and that helps me to stay in touch with what's going on out there in PodcastLand. So a shout-out to Ed Wallick from the Don't Quit Your Daycast podcast who gave me the idea for this list in the first place! An offshoot of that is my appreciation of Dean's yodel of our show's name, which has begun to really develop over time, as can be heard over the theme song for this installment and again at the tail end of the show. CLIPS Thanks, as always, to our Associate Producer Tyson Saner, who provided a number of the clips heard this episode! The Geek GenerationThis clip - from a podcast we’ve featured before – was provided by the main man behind the show, Rob Logan. He says, “We've started playing a game on The Geek Generation called Smash-Up, which combines two categories or concepts of things together, creating some hilarious results for things you've probably never heard of. Recently, our Smash-Up category was to combine Godzilla with any other movie, and in this clip myself and my co-host Mikey read the responses sent in from our super-creative fans.” Word to the wise: Comedy podcasters are welcome to submit 3-5 minute MP3 or WAV clips from their shows to clips@SuccotashShow.com, and we'll feature them on the show! Proudly ResentsFriend-of-Succotash and past special guest Adam Spiegelman recently posted a "Succotash Shoutout" version of his show Proudly Resents. He had some bits, pieces, and tail ends of interview from his podcast so he put them together, Succotash-fashion, to serve to his listeners. Thanks, Adam! We're featuring part of that stew: A snippet of a conversation Adam had with filmmaker Jeremy Sklar. Revelstoke Jim’s Canadian ContentTyson harvested this next clip and, he couldn’t have known this, but I’ve been aware of Revelstoke Jim since the early aughts. It was around the year 2000 or 2001 that I began to make a series of guest appearances on But Seriously, an early webcast – there was an attempt by some broadcast-oriented companies to livecast shows – hosted by comedian Brian Malow. His show was part of a rudimentary network of shows and the one that was on right after his was hosted by none other than Revelstoke Jim. So I would catch snippets of his show. Here, some decade and some years later, is yet another snippet, live and direct from Revelstoke, British Columbia. Comedy And Everything ElseWe had comedian Fred Stoller on Succotash way back in Epi15 when we were one of the first podcasts that he’s been a guest on. Since then, Fred’s become a favorite guest of a lot of shows. (So many, in fact, that I’m surprised he hasn’t started one of his own, because he’d be a great host, I think.) He was on a recent episode of Comedy & Everything Else, hosted by comedian Jimmy Dore and Stefanie Zamorano, who co-host a solid, funny show (in league with Dore's own The Jimmy Dore Show.) Green Up!The world of pop culture-based comedy podcasts is both deep and wide, which means there are a lot of them. Tyson found us this one, which I hadn’t heard of before, hosted by Roy, Phillip, and Ryan. (Or, as they refer to themselves on their show blog, “three fatties”.) Their focus is on video games – console and PC, as well as TV, movies, and podcasts. (Hmm. Wonder if they ever mention SuccotashI?) In this clip, they’re musing about getting a-whuppin’ as a kind of celebration of Father’s day. There's your Epi90 in a bloggy nutshell. Enjoy! And don't say I never gave you anything… — Marc Hershon

The director of the documentary "I Am Comic", Jordan Brady, calls in from L.A. to have a love-a-thon with Mariya. A chilled out, well balanced show. Pair with hang-overs and egg dishes. xoxo.
I gotta tell you - trying to pull a podcast together with a fulltime job while moving and having sketchy Internet connectivity is harder than it sounds. Apologies for the gap between 'casts. And for the sound quality on this particular epi. Not only was I NOT in Studio P with ace producer/engineer Joe Paulino, but our featured interview with comedian/actor-turned-director/producer Jordan Brady turned out to be really echo-y, which I didn't discover until after we were all done. And then my audio wraparounds during the show were recorded late at night and I had to be quiet, so the whole episode sounds like it's been commentated by a golf announcer. That rundown get you in the mood to listen? Audio weirdness aside, this is a fun interview with Jordan, who I first met years ago during the half year he lived in San Francisco during his life as a road comic. He's gone on to direct some films, some TV and a boatload of commercials, but what put him back on the comedy radar bigtime was his release of I Am Comic, a documentary about being a comedian in and around the real world. We talk about that and a whole lot more in this chat. Jordan's "Empty Nest" Residuals Check Jordan is a big podcast fan and we not only talk about some of his faves but we play a few clips from them, too. Plus I've got some new finds that I'm happy to share with you in this episode. Throw in a classic Henderson's Pants spot, our Burst O' Durst with Will Durst and you've got yourself a massive helping of Succotash (the episode runs more than an hour and fifteen minutes.) Here's who we're listening to this week... Pub Guys From a watering hole in north Texas comes Brian, Kyle, Terrill, Mike, and Curtis — the Pub Guys. These guys have logged more than 90 episodes, all from taverns and they've definitely created their own style and format. Their listeners become contributors to the show (and sometime even co-hosts), so check 'em out on iTunes and Stitcher. They also are big supporters of podcasts, so drop by their homesite at PubGuys.com if you want some recommendations on even more ear munchies. Tiny Odd Conversations I just discovered this quirky funfest, hosted by Travis and Brandi, and liked what I heard enough to give them a review over at This Week In Comedy Podcasting on Splitsider.com. Turns out that Travis is the son of comedian/actor Blake Clark, who drops in to bump memories with his son about raising a family when you make most of your living on the road. They're 40+ epis in, so get yourself more tiny and odd at TOCpod.com or on iTunes. Dylan Brody's Neighbor's Couch A lot of the podcasts I find on my own but we're getting more and more pings on Twitter from podcasters themselves. I'd been following the tweets of comedy writer Darren Staley (aka @Crobama) and didn't realize he was the host of this homegrown interview-based podcast. Check out his homesite for the backstory on the show's title. And to hear more, he does his show on Blog Talk Radio or you can scoop it up later at iTunes. You Made It Weird Guest Jordan Brady is a big fan of this fast-growing podcast on the Nerdist network and so am I. Host Pete Holmes is a comedian and the voice of the ETrade baby on TV - how's that for a pair of credits? He mostly manic in his p'cast and his guest often seem to get caught up in his energy. One guy who is too centered to be swayed is Larry Miller, who guests on this clip. Check out YMIW over at Nerdist.com or on iTunes. WTF The most popular show in podcasting today? Quite possibly, and with good reason. Host Marc Maron knows his way around an interview and usually, if its a comedy contemporary, he can dig pretty deep (often fueled by an ancient jealously the host has for the success of others.) In this case he's got nothing but adoration for the unassuming, comically brilliant Fred Willard. There's so much more over at WTFpod.com, iTunes and you might even consider picking yourself Maron's smartphone app for even more goodies. Doug Loves Movies There was a time when we weren't actively listening to DLM, way back after Epi9 when host Doug Benson had sent me a message requesting we not play clip from it because he didn't think the humor translated well in short chunks. AFter seeing guest Jordan Brady tweet about it being one of his favorite p'casts (and my subsequent followup as to why we don't feature it on Succotash), I received another message from Benson that, in essence, gave his blessing to play a clip once in a while. So we're back! And this is a rollicking sample, feature Doug with guests Pete Holmes, Rob Huebel, Kumail Nanjiani and Matt Myra. That's everything I could cram in this time around. Hope you enjoy it - sound problems aside - and that you remember to pass the Succotash! — Marc Hershon

Here is part II with Jordan Brady, stand-up comic, and director of the new documentary on stand-up, I Am Comic. While this podcast was recorded at the same time as part I (which you can find here) and it's not required to listen to it to understand part II. You'll probably be confused though, so […]
Though this may seem like a normal podcast for A Regrettable Moment of Sincerity, it's actually unique for a few reasons. First, because the interview with I Am Comic director and stand-up comedian Jordan Brady went on for more than 3 hours, I've split it into two parts (part II is here). Second, because I'm […]
