KEVIN SMITH FILMOGRAPHY MARATHONNow that the View-Askewniverse is all tied up and finished, Kevin decides to break the mold, pave a new course and go for a film he's never done before. Then he goes right back to where he started.Where Jersey Girl tells the world that Kevo is more than profanity and deadbeats working shitty jobs, Clerks II shoves the man right back into his comfort zone. Back to the Quickstop, with the same characters, the same banter, but a new coat of paint and a new era of their lives. How did this happen? How did the man so quickly go back on his promise to the world and to himself? Rhys and Kane investigate how a 'new era' for Kevin Smith ends up leading his right back to the beginning.Podcast Instagram: @marathonme_officialPodcast Facebook page: @marathonmeofficalEmail: marathonmepodc@gmail.com

The movies of Kevin Smith have had a huge impact on us spanning the past four decades.  Smith's intelligent philosophy, random musings, pop culture dialogue and quick  humor has been a huge inspiration for us and we now get to show our appreciation for someone who introduced us to Snowba...er, um, talents like Jason Lee and Jason Mewes (among countless others).  Kevin Smith grew up on the comedies and comedians we grew up with and loved, he understood his audience because he was (and still is) us.  This week Formidable Opponents discusses "Best Kevin Smith Scene."  Don't hesitate to listen to our previous 69 episodes...in a row.Support the showReach out to us and follow us:formidableopponents@gmail.com (Contact us)https://formidableopponents.buzzsprout.com/ (Website)@Fopponents (Twitter)formidable_opponents (Instagram)FormidableOpponents (Facebook)@formidableopponents (Tik Tok)https://www.buymeacoffee.com/foropponents (Show us some love)Cover art by Creative Little Pillhttps://www.instagram.com/creativelittlepill/https://creative-little-pill.creator-spring.com/

We're back with "Clerks II", the raunchier, more in-depth sequel to Kevin Smith's "Clerks II". I dig this sequel more than the first, it has more dialog that works with the overall story of the film. I talk the strengths of how the characters push the narrative of life/work/friendship/ As they get older, the circles are much smaller and tighter and you start to appreciate life more. I also point out how much fun this film is and you can see it as how the scenes play off so hilariously in some cases. In this film, the acting is consistent and does win your heart. A win for me.#clerks2 #kevinsmith #morningreel

Ronnie Adams and Mark Radulich present their Kevin Smiths Clerks Trilogy Review. Clerks is a 1994 American black-and-white buddy comedy film written and directed by Kevin Smith (in his feature directorial debut), produced and edited by Smith and Scott Mosier, and starring Brian O'Halloran, Jeff Anderson, Marilyn Ghigliotti, Lisa Spoonhauer, Jason Mewes, Smith, and Mosier. It presents a day in the lives of store clerks Dante Hicks (O'Halloran) and Randal Graves (Anderson) as well as their acquaintances. It is the first of Smith's View Askewniverse films, and introduces several recurring characters, notably Jay and Silent Bob (Mewes and Smith respectively). It is often regarded as a cult classic and a landmark in independent filmmaking. In 2019, the film was selected for preservation in the United States National Film Registry by the Library of Congress as being "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant". The live-action, feature film sequel to Clerks was released on July 21, 2006. The working title was The Passion of the Clerks, though the film was released under the title Clerks II. The credits for Dogma stated "Jay and Silent Bob will return in Clerks 2: Hardly Clerkin' "; however, that project "evolved" into Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back. The sequel features Jeff Anderson and Brian O'Halloran reprising their roles as Dante Hicks and Randal Graves. The two now work at a Mooby's restaurant after the latter's incompetence resulted in the destruction of the Quick Stop and RST Video. Clerks III is a 2022 American comedy film written, produced, directed, and edited by Kevin Smith and stars Brian O'Halloran, Jeff Anderson, Trevor Fehrman, Austin Zajur, Jason Mewes, Rosario Dawson, and Smith. It serves as a standalone sequel to the 1994 and 2006 Clerks films, and is the ninth overall feature film set in the View Askewniverse. In the film, Randal Graves, who after surviving a massive heart attack, enlists his friends and fellow clerks Dante Hicks, Elias Grover, and Jay and Silent Bob to make a movie about their lives at the Quick Stop Convenience store that started it all. Watch Ian and David knock over a convenience store! Yes, it's time to review Clerks III.After Randal (Jeff Anderson) suffers a heart attack, he decides to follow his long-dormant dreams of directing a movie. Enlisting the help of fellow Quick Stop employees and hangers-on Dante (Brian O'Halloran), Elias (Trevor Fehrman), and Jay and Silent Bob (Kevin Smith and Jason Mewes, respectively), Randal sets out to capture the comedic indignities of wage-slave living. The result is a bizarre second sequel to the film that put writer/director Smith on the map. In this spoiler-heavy discussion, Ian and David talk about what Smith's films have meant to them; why the series should have stopped at the note-perfect Clerks II; and the 37 ways in which Smith prevents this film from being a worthy tribute to an iconic career and characters.Clerks III hits select theatres starting September 13th as part of a limited Fathom Events run. I am a huge Kevin Smith fan. When I heard they were doing Mooby's pop-up restaurants around the country I got excited... until I saw none would be near me. I did a deep dive on Google and discovered the next best thing. You can get the Mooby's Cowtipper delivered right to your door. The only catch is... you have to prepare it yourself! I decided to put on my chef's hat and make another episode of Dude Food. Manufacturer Description Mooby's is shipping its burgers nationwide on Goldbelly! Sink your teeth into a juicy double Cow Tipper along with a side of French fries and exquisite chocolate covered pretzels! Along with supplies for six burgers, your order comes with purple cups, napkins, and fry boats! Snoochie Boochies, Funployees! Jay and Silent Bob are striking back in a major way by bringing Mooby's — heretofore only known as a fictional burger joint in Kevin Smith films like “Dogma,” “Clerks II” and the “Jay and Silent Bob” franchise — to life. Spurred by a successful pop-up in West Hollywood, Mooby's Cow Tipper burgers are now being delivered directly to your couch, along with plenty of Mooby's-branded swag. Mooby's: I'm Eating It! THIS KIT INCLUDES This package serves 6 people and includes everything you need to make 6 Cow Tipper Double Cheeseburgers: 12 All-Beef Patties (each 3 oz.) 6 Martin's Potato Buns 12 slices American Cheese 1 bag Frozen French Fries (2 lbs.) Dill Pickles (6 oz.) 1 Onion (7 oz.) Mooby's Sauce (4 oz.) 6 Mustard Packets (each 1 oz.)
