In the early 1990's, the Scottish town of Bonnybridge found itself at the centre of world wide attention due to the area becoming a UFO hot spot. Hundreds of residents saw a variety of objects in the skies all across the area and it became a magnet for investigators and television crews from across the world. Two Scottish Ufologists, Ron Halliday and Malcolm Robinson, extensively researched these strange aerial sightings, and in their block busting book, they share not only some of the many UFO sightings, but also provide their own thoughts and conclusions as to what may have been behind this intriguing Scottish mystery. Malcolm joins me to discuss his experiences, some of the sightings that broke the story and the ramifications on the residents of the town and why the media may have moved on, but it seems whatever is in the skies hasn't. A big thank you as always to Malcolm for joining me. The town of Bridgeport, Connecticut saw one of the most remarkable poltergiest cases in the USA back in late 1974 that caused pandemonium in the local community. Crowds flocked to the house after the word spread causing the police to close off access for the public. Dismissed as a hoax by the Bridgeport Police Department after several days, the case seemingly solved and the crowds left. Yet, in his extensively investigated paid of books, author WIlliam Hall lays out the jaw dropping events witnessed by dozens, that defy explanation. In his lastest book, Pascagoula Uncovered, Philip Mantle brings together a ream of newly published material in regards to one of the most striking alleged abduction cases of the late 20th century. The whole book is almost like a look back through time to see what happened that night in Pascagoula and how the events unfolded thereafter. And in a stunning revelation Calvin Parker recounts a previously unknown encounter from 1992 which is published here for the first time. Along with Darcy Weir's new documentary series, Pascagoula 73, available on Prime we can see just how many reports and witnesses there really are to this event! The Ghost Story Guys is hosted by author Brennan Storr and Paul Bestall. Brennan and Paul tell true life stories of the strange and unusual, then try to make sense of them using a combination of humor and humanism. Though both hosts have had their own experiences with the paranormal, belief in it is not required - all you need is a love of good storytelling and curiosity about the world around you. Original episode description: The first in our two-part series about haunting in prisons! We have a number of stories from North America, plus an exclusive look at the haunting of the Lima Sheraton in Lima, Peru, former site of the infamous prison known as El Panoptico. When it comes to ghost stories, there's regular old dark, then there's lock-up dark, and the only thing scarier than some of the horrific true crime cases we touch on in this episode is our pronunciation of Spanish. We've all heard or seen stories over the years that people will swear happened to them or a friend of a friend which on face value seem strange and often weird but if we dig a little deeper, the facts become blurry. It seems it doesn't matter where you live in the world, you will have all heard an urban legend dressed up as a real incident, be it a spider living in your hair, to swallowing seeds means plants grow in your stomach to even murderers hiding in the wardrobe. It's a warm welcome back to cryptozoologist Katy Elizabeth as we discuss her latest year of research up on lake Champlain and the echolocation recording caught last year. A frustrating year of interruptions and technical issues all fell away after Katy captured something remarkable in September 2024 and the analysis of the sound recordings seems to show a previously unkown type of vocalisation. Katy also discusses her plans to visit both Loch Ness and Loch Moray later this year on the hunt for their famous water based residents. Katy's can be found here: The echolocations are discussed here: Thank you as always to Katy for joining me once again. We expend vast resources for this. Strangely, this does not seem strange. We look to several sources for understanding our past, which gives us clues about solving today's problems, and the supernatural because it also is associated with our creation. Today supernatural communication, such as UAP, has increased so dramatically that even the US government has noticed and others discuss religious figures as ancient astronauts. To discuss these ideas in her new book, along with some updates in regards to the Pascagoula case of 1973 and the ongoing drone mystery, Dr Irena Scott returns to join me! The true story of the “Foo Fighters” goes back much earlier than 1944, involving RAF aircrew operating over Germany and Italy. The nicknames for what they encountered were different, but the phenomenon they witnessed was almost certainly the same. Mysterious lights, rockets and jets were reported on a regular basis, and many of these events are listed in the official records. These cases, plus others which may not have been reported to the military authorities at the time, are examined in this book. Discussing this phenomena is author and reseacher Graeme Rendall who has investigated this mysterious period in strange history in his book which can be found here: A big thank you to Graeme for joining me this week. Richard Freeman returns to the show on this episode as we discuss the recent Centre for Fortean Zoology expedition to Tajikistan on the search for one of the Euroasian mystery cats. The Caspian Tiger's range used to encompass the land from Turkey in the west all the way across southern Asia to the western borders of China, but was sadly declared extinct in 2003. Yet, witnesses claim to have both seen and had encounters with this lost big cat and Richard and his colleagues headed out for the third time to the northern parts of Tajikistan to look for evidence of this beautiful creature's survival against the odds. When we hear the world "cult" our minds often create an image of gullible people who lack the intelligence to understand they're being manipulated by someone who is not what they seem. Yet, the evidence suggests that this isn't the case, organistations change, purposes are hidden and often the truth is altered in such a way that often it is only when they reach their conclusions that the followers realise just what is going on. Joining me to look at psychology and history of cults and their leaders is JW Ocker and we look at Jim Jones, Marshall Applewhite, NXVIM and more in our conversation. In this book, Ronald Kinsella questions the validity of a number of alien, UFO and cryptid reports which range from the unusual, to the very bizarre, throughout the world. This interrogation is not based on their authenticity, rather, questioning a much darker aspect to their origins and of a seemingly fragmented phenomenon. We discuss the possibilities of one force perhaps being behind all manner of unusual encounters with some intriguing ideas. The book can be found here: Thank you to Ronald for joining me. We enter the world of divination and tarot this week with author and reader Alaric Albertsson who guides us into the world of reading through a standard set of playing cards. He knows how to craft a story, how to narrate it in such a way that it draws you in, and as a professional audio producer, his mix with music and sound effects underneath his voice is nothing less than stellar. You will DEFINITELY love this podcast, just as I do!
