On today's episode of The Kristian Harloff Show, we break down some of the biggest movie and TV headlines making waves across Hollywood and fandom. We start with an update on Dune: Part Three, as new reports indicate the film's release date is not moving despite speculation. What does this mean for the future of the franchise and Warner Bros.' long-term plans? Kathleen Kennedy also makes headlines with bold comments about the future of Indiana Jones, stating the iconic series will "never be done." We discuss what that could mean for Lucasfilm, legacy characters, and audience fatigue. Meanwhile, Zootopia 2 continues its incredible run by setting a global box-office record, raising questions about Disney animation, sequels, and what audiences are really showing up for. We also dive into comments from Matt Damon and Ben Affleck on shrinking attention spans and how modern audiences consume movies in the streaming era. Finally, we take a look at the latest trailer for A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, which teases what's still to come this season and how it connects to the larger Game of Thrones universe. Join Kristian Harloff and the panel as they break it all down, share insights, and debate what these stories mean for the future of movies and television. In this episode of Casual Chats, Arun and Patricia discuss about the 2025 Disney animated film Zootopia 2, the sequel to the 2016 animated film Zootopia. One week after the events of Zootopia, Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde are continuing their work at the Zootopia Police Department as partners, but Chief Bogo sees their destructive actions to capture bad guys. It doesn't help that their personalities were the complete opposite of one another. He states that they have to work together if not they would separate them. Meanwhile, a gala celebrating the city's 100th anniversary is being held at the estate of the Lynxley family, whose ancestors was Ebenezer Lynxley, the founder of Zootopia. All of the sudden, a snake named Gary attempts to steal the journal which contains information on who the founder of Zootopia really is and who created the weather walls controlling the temperature of all of Zootopia's sections. Judy sees the good in him and after inadvertently attacking Chief Bogo and rendering him unconscious from a venom bite, Judy and Nick escape with Gary and the journal making them fugitives. When the film premiered in theaters, it made $1.4 billion dollars in the box office receiving critical acclaim from critics and viewers calling it a film that's just as good as the first one. What did Arun and Patricia think of the film?

The time has come for The Run-Through's annual Golden Globes recap—and let's just say, this one delivered. Not only did friend of the podcast Nikki Glaser return to the stage as the hostess with the mostest (with jokes Vogue deputy editor Taylor Antrim couldn't get enough of), but we were also treated to a truly cheeky look from Teyana Taylor (Vogue predicts: the Year of the Buttcrack is officially here) and a standout awards-season red carpet debut from two of the most talked-about boys of the moment, Hudson Williams and Connor Storrie of Heated Rivalry.Reporting early to share highlights from the night, Chloe, Chioma, deputy editor Taylor Antrim, and senior fashion and style writer Christian Allaire broke down the looks that won the evening. Bright colors emerged as a surprising trend, with Wunmi Mosaku's bold yellow look—paired with a pregnancy reveal—standing out as a major highlight. Other memorable moments included Odessa A'zion in self-styled archival Dolce & Gabbana, Tessa Thompson in Balenciaga (serving real mermaid vibes, according to Chloe), and Colman Domingo in Valentino, complete with an abundance of brooches. The group wrapped up by sharing their favorite wins of the night, with unanimous agreement that One Battle After Another is likely to be a frontrunner heading into the Oscars—and that Timothée Chalamet is a shoe-in for Best Actor. Plus, Chloe makes the case for why Zootopia 2 deserved a little more love. Listen to our full recap below. Learn about your ad choices: dovetail.prx.org/ad-choices

It's a Zootopia rewatch with the Disney Moms Gone Wrong crew, plus guest James from Distance Nerding, and it goes way deeper than “buddy cop movie with animals.” The group talks about why Judy Hopps' optimism is both her superpower and her blind spot, how Nick Wilde's “fox” label shapes his whole identity, and why the movie's take on bias lands even harder as an adult. Along the way there's plenty of fun (yes, the DMV sloths), a bunch of parenting and education perspective, and a final Hall of Fame vote to see if Zootopia earns first ballot status.00:00 Intro and New Year energy, meet the panel and guest James from Distance Nerding02:45 Why Zootopia still hits: big themes hiding inside the comedy04:58 First impressions, rewatches, and what stood out this time08:18 Fun opener: if you lived in Zootopia, what animal are you?12:46 The DMV sloth scene and why that gag never gets old13:31 Judy Hopps: delusional optimist or relentless overachiever?17:48 Disney Dad corner: Nick Wilde's charm and the “Carrots” dynamic18:45 Rapid-fire round: Judy vs Nick, city vs nature, quick picks20:04 Reflection questions: labels, stereotypes, and expectations21:59 Real-world parallels: judging people by neighborhoods and reputation25:38 Education and parenting angle: where bias shows up for kids (including neurodivergent students)29:50 Mentorship and community: what “breaking the mold” looks like in real life37:12 Accountability talk: what a real apology looks like when you unintentionally cause harm38:52 Sequel hopes: what fans want from Zootopia 2 and expanding the world40:24 Lightning round: best friend pick, city rules, and who you'd rather hang with42:29 Parenting closer: supporting big dreams while preparing kids for real-world bias44:17 Bullying, standing up for others, and what happens when it gets complicated49:33 Easter eggs and pop culture nods (including the Breaking Bad-style references)52:50 Hall of Fame criteria: cultural impact, emotional depth, and soundtrack staying power54:38 Hall of Fame vote, wrap-up, and where to find Distance NerdingZootopia's “anyone can be anything” message lands harder when you focus on how bias survives even in a so-called utopia.Judy's confidence is inspiring, but the conversation highlights how good intentions can still cause harm if you're not paying attention.Nick Wilde is a clean example of how labels can become a script people feel forced to live out.The parenting talk centers on balancing encouragement with honesty: build big dreams, but don't pretend bias and stereotypes are not real.Relationships and mentorship matter, especially in schools and communities where kids feel boxed in early. The movie's humor (DMV, puns, background jokes) is a big reason it stays rewatchable. The group agrees Zootopia's cultural footprint is huge, which makes the Hall of Fame debate feel easy.“Happy new Year! I'm so excited to be back and to chat with you guys.”“Like, if it's not a spicy, it's not for me.”“Movie I love? I love Zootopia.”“Banger banger.”“Absolutely. 100% all the way around.”“It's a absolute yes for me and all three categories. And Shakira's hips don't lie.”If you enjoyed this episode, make sure you're subscribed so you don't miss the next movie discussion. Happy New Year from all of us here at BWN! This week, we bring you another wild visit to the Trailer Park as we take a look at trailers for the Chevy Chase documentary, a reboot (of sorts) for The Muppet Show, and, wait....PC Tunney recommended a horror film? Apparently so, as we take a look at the trailer for Primate. Of course, the MCU headlines the Trailer Park this week as the Nerds discuss the latest Thor-based Avengers: Doomsday trailer, as well as the official trailer for Wonder Man. How do these two seemingly unrelated trailers fit into the broader scope of the MCU, and what, exactly, does Dr. Doom want with all these kids? In News Around the Nerdosphere, we look at the mammoth success of Zootopia 2, and ponder whether the equally huge success of Stranger Things might cause Netflix to rethink its stance of making movies for the cinema. The Main Event of the show, however, has the Nerds discussing the best of 2025 in the Nerdosphere. Who did we think were our best actors/actresses of the year? What were the best movies and shows? And what were the biggest stories in Nerdom this past year? Wait, did the Golden Globes just invite us to the party? On this episode of F* IT WE'LL FIX IT IN POST**, we're breaking down the massive news that podcasts are finally getting their own category at the 83rd Golden Globes. We dive into the inaugural "Best Podcast" nominees—from SmartLess to Call Her Daddy—and ask the real question: are these actually the "best," or just the ones with the most famous friends? We're also talking snubs (sorry, Joe Rogan fans), whether a nomination actually moves the needle for a show's stats, and how different genres are fighting for a seat at the table. But it's not all awards season "prestige" talk. We're geeking out over the 2026 animation race—including Zootopia 2 and the surprise Demon Slayer nod—and, of course, checking the pulse of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Is the hype for the next Spider-Man reaching a breaking point, or are we all just waiting for Sony to finally give us a date for Beyond the Spider-Verse?Grab a drink, ignore the audio peaking, and let's get into it. (We'll fix the hot takes in post.)

Sean and Amanda have an action-packed show today where they cover three new releases. Before diving in, they react to the recent trailers for ‘The Odyssey' and ‘Avengers: Doomsday' and quickly discuss ‘Zootopia 2' and ‘Avatar: Fire and Ash' (1:38). Then, they discuss Paul Feig's ‘The Housemaid,' starring Sydney Sweeney and Amanda Seyfried, which they found disappointing and prompts a discussion about what type of movies are being made for women in 2025 (9:09). Next, they talk through ‘Anaconda,' starring Jack Black, which they describe as a cynical, depressing exercise in IP franchise filmmaking (38:37). Finally, they briefly touch on ‘Song Sung Blue,' a musical drama about a Neil Diamond tribute band starring Hugh Jackman and Kate Hudson (50:00), before director Craig Brewer joins Sean to break down how his filmmaking career started, explain why music plays such a profound role in his work, and tell a fascinating story about the lengthy process behind casting Hudson (1:01:35).
