* Tribes of Cara Fahd: Fists of Fahd* Ruled by Moschtug who claims to be the true King of Cara Fahd* Claims descent from Cathon Grimeye.* First appeared in the adventure collection Blades.* Similar to Zarass's Chargers, Moschtug is set up as an antagonist.* More canny than Zarass but still a warlord.* Resents the presence of the new arrivals and their domination of the area.* Self-important, egotistical, convinced with ork purity.* Controls Copper Cauldron, an important resource for Cara Fahd.* Trapped by his own narrative; ambitions ran into Krathis Gron.* Was a big fish in a small pond, but now the pond is much bigger.* Is on the council because of the importance of Copper Cauldron.* His ego and self-importance could make him easily manipulated.* Not a threat like Zarass, but could cause problems.* Could be a source of comic relief in Cara Fahd politics.* Still a tough character; strong Cavalryman.* Ideas on bringing Moschtug into games.Find and Follow:Email: edsgpodcast@gmail.comYouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@EDSGPodcastFind and follow Josh: https://linktr.ee/LoreMerchantGet product information, developer blogs, and more at www.fasagames.comFASA Games on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/fasagamesincOfficial Earthdawn Facebook Group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/officialearthdawnFASA Games Discord Channel: https://discord.gg/uuVwS9uEarthdawn West Marches: https://discord.gg/hhHDtXW

When your husband resents you, the tension is so uncomfortable, especially if he's just scowling or hiding in his cave and being silent, ignoring you, neglecting you. It would be nice if he'd just come out with it and tell you he resents you and WHY. Then you'd know exactly where you stand instead of wondering what's going to happen. You could make plans, defend yourself, or find a way to make him stop resenting you. You could look for the words to have him reevaluate, including that it's not good for him to hold a grudge against his wife! The scowling, neglect, and silence are all pretty good signs that he resents you, right? But what if he's not resentful at all? On today's episode of The Empowered Wife Podcast, we're talking about what to do if you see these signs—and 3 common challenges that could be the real problem. And, the tension was high for my guest Jane too. She was not controlling at all—she was just trying to help her husband! But that wasn't going over well. Then she made a decision to do this one thing, which led to great peace and happiness in her marriage and in herself. She's going to tell us what she did so you can do it too.

Friends at the Table

This episode carries content warnings for blood, civilian harm and death, parental death, conscription, torture and kidnapping.  Under the wings of the Kestrel White, war washes ashore the Isle of the Broken Key. Soon after the crew of the Blue Channel released Kenneth Marian Colver, Bilateral Viceroy to Palisade and convert of the Usher of Truth, he ordered his flagship to return and lay waste to the home of the Dim Liturgy and Devotees. Now, the Cause fights not only for ideals but for survival. A rifle takes aim. A hammer lifts into the air. A cannonade echoes for miles. The monastery burns. and the blaze casts a shadow too long for a single night's contemplation. This week on PALISADE: Upon Our Grace Pt. 4 I'm out / There's nothing here to care about / What's that sound? / What's that song about? / It's nothin' worth me sayin' aloud Dossier Organizations Violet Cove: The Dim Liturgy claim to have seen the Divine Devotion's arrival coming in their sacred text: A battered and corrupted backup of Crystal Palace's final predictions for the future. Now the two cults work together to oust the Bilats... and perhaps to do more intriguing things, as well. The Devotees: A church from the Twilight Mirage that is committed to the worship of the divine Devotion, which they sometimes refer to as Fervor. Common practices include the regular checking of one's pulse and multi-day group picnic outings. People Connadine (he/him): Commander of the BIS on Palisade. An expert in psychological operations and folklore. As a composer, his opus is the Adagio, a plan to get everyone on Palisade operating in ways not only predictable, but scripted. As a conductor, his orchestra now turns towards the second movement.  Saint Decario Dicario (he/him): Devoted Devotee warmonger and one-time lover of the Twilight Mirage rockstar Teleos Triton Tanager.  Sea Crepuscule (he/him): Master of the Concave Wing of the Dim Liturgy's primary monastery, where he leads the search for specific details and predictions from the Glass Archive's remnants. Additionally, the most highly placed member of the Paint Shop (and thus, most important shield for the BIS spies) inside of Dim Liturgy. Marlon Styx a.k.a. Em (he/him): Undercover BIS agent assigned to infiltrate Violet Cove. Has become enamored with the Dim Liturgy's holy text. Tea Time (she/her): Assistant to the assistant of Dicario St. Dicario. BIS Spy. Queue 1224 (he/him): A non-Columnar synthetic monk who helps with preparing parts of the Thing Itself for movement to Convex or Concave. BIS Spy. Zedd Z. Izzard (he/him): Lovable dirtbag chef. Works in main hall's mess hall. Knows everyone's favorite drink and most people's favorite meal. Satisfactory pilot. BIS Spy. Bea Earlyday (she/her): Young Chariot pilot assigned to the defense of the Isle of the Broken Key. Under Griesel Sunset's command. BIS Spy. Kay (they/them): Cashier of the monastery treasury. BIS Spy.  Tenn Alpenglow (he/him): Bodyguard of Kenneth Marian Colver and Knight of the Fabreal Duchy. Resents his assignation to guard the cowardly Viceroy, but takes seriously his sworn oath to serve under the Duchy's new masters. Kenneth Marian Colver (he/him): Former member of the Curtain, now Kesh's Viceroy on the world. Reports up to the Stargrave. Bread concerns have been replaced with violence concerns. Kensley Marlowe Colver (she/her): Sister of Kenneth Marian Colver, pilot of a Gorget, award winning hunter of megafauna, and craven champion of cruelty.  Elle Evensong (she/they) - Elle arrived to Palisade along with the first wave of Devotees, making a name for herself as a cunning combatant and clever commander. She became a poster child for Twilight Mirage's support of Palisade (and, for members of the Dim Liturgy, a prophesied bridge between the past and the future). But as the war began to heat up, she seemed to vanish into the background. Pilot of the Cataphract. Midnite Matinee (she/her): Leporine scout and member of the Blue Channel. She and her trusty Pack-model light AutoHollow Popcorn (she/her) used to run a repo company, but now are tentatively committed to the Cause and Millennium Break. Routine Rennari (he/him): Half-Apostolsian, scion of a minor Kesh noble house, and the Blue Channel's heavy.  Hunting "Hunt" Tomorrow (he/him): Concretist specialist in communications and technology, assigned to the Blue Channel during its integration into the Cause. Saffron Septet (she/her):  A doctor from the Twilight Mirage who lives as a digital consciousness, spread across a number of bodily forms including a heavy Torch Unit, a small motorcycle, and a unique and specially-crafted surgeon body.  Places Isle of the Broken Key: Home of the Dim Liturgy since its obscure creation thousands of years ago. Now serves as base for the entire Violet Cove unit of the Cause, including the Devotees and (most recently) additional support teams from the Twilight Mirage. Chimera's Lantern: The second moon of Palisade, shaped oddly like a wasp's nest or paper lantern. New arrivals to the world find its occasional glow unnatural and frightening. Objects The Kestral White: Flagship of Palisade's Viceroy, Kenneth Marrian Colver. Hovers like a hawk on a thermal updraft, searching for its prey. Gambeson: The Gambeson is only about 10 meters tall (less than half an Altar), but it is nevertheless a terrifying scourge of the battlefield. Modeled after an iron maiden, except with it's tortorous doors attached to its back serving as wings. Its head features a metalworked face, twisted into extreme and offputting smile.  Its skeletal frame serves not only as body, but cage: pilots are criminal conscripts forced to pay off their “debt” to Kesh by the Divine Plight, earning their freedom through combat achievements.  Gorget: When visible, the Gorget is a bright and fashionable machine, its long features clad in golden armor, yet hidden playfully covered by a chic red hunting cape. When walking, it's posture is buoyed by a fashionable walking cane. But at a whim, the Altar's pilot may extend the length of the cape, surrounding the entire body with a layer of magical camouflage, cloaking it from both sensors and plain sight. And at that moment, its cane twists and folds, revealing itself to be a perfectly honed rifle. Cataphract: When the engineers loyal to Devotion studied the data from the Chariot Mk. 1 units, they saw they had a problem: maximum results required a lethal amount of blood from the pilots. One solution to this problem would become the Charoit Mk. 2, which offered more efficient energy exchange per ounce of ichor taken. The Cataphract, which draws on the blood of others to perform unimaginable feats, is the other. Divines Asepsis (it/its): The final living remnants of a Divine who pursues its particular vision of purity at the cost of everything else. Kept, studied, and utilized by Captain Kalvin Brnine. The Reflecting Pool, f.k.a the Divine Past, f.k.a. Crystal Palace (it/its): In the era before the founding of the Divine Principality, Crystal Palace served as the supreme oracle engine of the Rapid Evening and the Principality of Kesh. At the end of that era, it lost its ability to predict the future, but continued as a vast archive of the past, and became canonized as the Divine Past (which now serves as the Reflecting Pool, center of the Witch in Glass' kingdom). The final record of its predictions into the future are stored on Palisade, under protection (and study) of the Dim Liturgy and Violet Cove. This episode carries content warnings for civilian harm and death, torture, conscription, and kidnapping. With the list of Bilateral Intelligence Service spies secure and the immediate threat from Fabreal Knight Tenn Alpenglow resolved, the crew of the Blue Channel discusses what to do next. Should they prioritize capturing the BIS agents they've identified, and if so, how would they go about that? Should they turn the list over to the Cause's leadership, deferring the decision to others and winning some points in the process? For each potential option, there seems to be a flaw. And as they debate, the clock keeps ticking… This week on PALISADE: Upon Our Grace Pt. 3 Another turning point / Another point in time Dossier Organizations Violet Cove: The Dim Liturgy claim to have seen the Divine Devotion's arrival coming in their sacred text: A battered and corrupted backup of Crystal Palace's final predictions for the future. This episode carries content warnings for civilian harm and death, torture, conscription, hallucination, uncanny visions, body horror, bodily transformation, kidnapping, and medical experimentation. Having disregarded their official mission in an effort to both help the Figure in Bismuth and spurn Gucci Garantine, the crew of the Blue Channel begin to explore the Dim Liturgy's primary monastery on the Isle of the Broken Key. Brnine and Phrygian corner one spy and develop suspicions about a possible second agent. Thisbe and the Figure in Bismuth search for a new source of power, and discover encounter someone they thought they'd seen the last of already. Cori meets an ancient architect and in the process is either drawn closer to or further from her god, depending on one's perspective… This week on PALISADE: Upon Our Grace Pt. 2 I hurt myself to see if I could feel / (magnificent) / Then I began to pray to see if god was real Dossier Organizations Violet Cove: The Dim Liturgy claim to have seen the Divine Devotion's arrival coming in their sacred text: A battered and corrupted backup of Crystal Palace's final predictions for the future. People Sea Crepuscule (he/him): Master of the Concave Wing of the Dim Liturgy's primary monastery, where he leads the search for specific details and predictions from the Glass Archive's remnants. This episode carries content warnings for blood, uncanny body horror, and unconsciousness.  The Blue Channel's mission was delivered in simple terms: Prevent their target, codenamed Gem, from reaching her destination in the Fabreal Duchy's capital city. But as the mission has progressed, and as the group's commander receives increasingly troubling messages from Gucci Garantine, it's increasingly clear that the crew is being is missing information. What is the purpose of this attack? Who is their target, really? And from what concrete prison has she seemingly escaped from? This week on PALISADE: The Canvas of Dreams Pt. 4 [solari] Dossier Organizations Fabreal Duchy: When the Divine Principality left Palisade nearly 5,000 years ago, they left behind a Duke and his barons as caretakers. In the generations that followed, they ruled as petty tyrants, creating Delegates as their slaves, remaking their bodies into glass and oil, and extending their reach across Palisade's continents. Violet Cove: The Dim Liturgy claim to have seen the Divine Devotion's arrival coming in their sacred text: A battered and corrupted backup of Crystal Palace's final predictions for the future. Now the two cults work together to oust the Bilats... and perhaps to do more intriguing things, as well. People “Gem” (she/her): Codename given to the target of Operation Midnight Lapidary. Reported to be a major dealer in precious metals and stones from Stel Orion, here to attend the coronation of the returned Duchess Constantina Malady. Clearly more than she lets on... Kenneth Marian Colver (he/him): Former member of the Curtain, now Kesh's Viceroy on the world. Reports up to the Stargrave. Bread concerns have been replaced with violence concerns. Tenn Alpenglow (he/him): Bodyguard of Kenneth Marian Colver and Knight of the Fabreal Duchy. Resents his assignation to guard the cowardly Viceroy, but takes seriously his sworn oath to serve under the Duchy's new masters. The Lost Duchess, Constantina Malady (she/her): Just as it is said, she arrived on a black horse with white fetlocks. Ramondre (she/her) and Ignadiah (he/him): Swordbearers of Gentian, Elect of Crusade. Rivalrous and devout. Kalar Anakalar, the Giantkiller (he/him): This legendary member of Millennium Break is much more than his nom de guerre. Loyal comrade, proud father, and ever faithful believer. Former member of the Society for Banners and Bright Returns, one of the founding organizations of Millennium Break. Quintessence “Tessence” Rey (he/him): Joined Millennium Break when the group aided an Equiaxed commune in Vigil City, Partizan. Pilots a customized (but out of date) Kosmos unit for Jade Kill. Protege of Kalar Anakalar. The Witch in Glass (she/her): A former scion of Kesh who, after knitting a bond with the adversary Perennial, came into control of the broken body of the Divine Past, which she has renamed the Reflecting Pool. Rules over the Crown of Glass, a city-state on the southeastern reaches of Palisade. A shaky ally of Millennium Break and cruelly indifferent master of the Figure in Bismuth. Haunted by an old foe. August Righteousness (he/they): Once, August served as the court chef of Joyous Guard. Now, he is the commander of Reunion, a Delegate resistance movement that is part of the Cause's Jade Kill unit. Gucci Garantine (she/her): A defector from Stel Kesh, who used the remaining wealth and power of House Brightline to help found Millennium Break. Currently a key member of the resistance efforts on Palisade, partially responsible for the operation of Millennium Break forces there. Codename Watershed. General Tomorrow Mourning (she/her): Leader of the Qui'Err Coalition's forces en route to the Twilight Mirage. Marlon Styx a.k.a. “Em” (he/him): Undercover BIS agent assigned to infiltrate Violet Cove. Has become enamored with the Dim Liturgy's holy text. Jesset City (he/him): After helping to kick off Millennium Break on Partizan, Jesset served as one of its major leaders during its expansion across the Principality. Now, he uses his talents in Hollow and Altar engineering, piloting, and cipher breaking on behalf of the Grey Pond unit of the cause. Still considers himself to be a member of the Party of the Wolf, though those designations have largely fallen from use. Places Bontive Valley: Blessed by the departed divine Bounty, the Valley provides the Bilats with fruit that never rots and hyper-nutritional grain. Isle of the Broken Key: Home of the Dim Liturgy since its obscure creation thousands of years ago. Things BAC Billhook: Constantly in motion, the Billhook (designed by the Blessed Armory of the Divine Consecration)  might be confused for a conceptual sculpture to the uninitiated. It is a humanoid design with five arms, two on the left and three on the right, though the right-central one always crosses its body to cover its “heart,” behind which the cockpit rests. Most of the Billhook is all made with a special material that can change at an atomic level, switching between an elusive, clothlike silk and dangerously sharp stained glass form. As such, the Billhook can be a loose flag on the wind or a terrifying whirlwind of violence.  EF Vambrace: Created by House Evenfall Altarworks, the Vambrace is the unlikely workhorse of the Kesh Altar fleet. With four arms worth of melee weapons and a mounted missile launcher, the Vambrace is able to reach the enemy under self-provided cover fire, defend themselves in melee until an opportunity presents itself, and then deliver the final blow. AdArm Bouquet: Designed by Stel Orion's Adamant Arms and Artifice as an Altar-era update to the classic Troop design. It's still boxy (if a little trimmer) and it retains it's wide, rectangular “eye” on its head. Gone are the heavy grip claws, replaced with traditional, five-fingered hands, allowing it more complex manipulations, including the operations of its distinctive Roundless Rifle, which seems convert raw Perennial Wave into ammunition. Additionally, the shoulder mount has ditched the heavy cannon in exchange for a close range, pneumatic lance that can devastate even the strongest armor. Roundless rifle looks like an H&K G11, and fires condensed Perennial Wave gathered from the atmosphere itself. AdArm Motion Engine: Core to all of Adamant Arms and Artifice's new designs, the Motion Engine was derived from salvaged parts of the lost Divine of the same name, offering a reliable, long lasting, and flexible source of power. Hosted by Austin Walker (@austin_walker) Hosted by Austin Walker (@austin_walker) Featuring Janine Hawkins (@bleatingheart) Sylvi Bullet (@sylvibullet), Ali Acampora (@ali_west), Keith J Carberry (@keithjcarberry) and Andrew Lee Swan (@swandre3000) Produced by Ali Acampora  Music by Jack de Quidt (available on bandcamp) Text by Austin Walker Cover Art by by aurahack (aurahack.jp) With thanks to Arthur B., Chocoube, DB, deepFlaw, Edwin Adelsberger, Emrys, Greg Cobb, Huw, Ian O'Dea, Ian Urbina, Irina A., Jack Shirai, Jake Strang, K. This episode carries content warnings for violence in a public place, uncanny body horror, blood, tight spaces, and discussion of claustrophobia. Let's turn to dealing with your spouse's resentments. Resentment comes from anger, unresolved. Anger comes from hurt, unresolved and unaddressed. Which leads us back to helping your spouse find healing — tracking back to anger, but really back to hurt. If you want to reconnect, start with dealing with resentments. Otherwise, the hurt/anger/resentment continues to poison the relationship. It is the systemic infection that keeps the marriage hurting Let's be clear: really, this is about helping your spouse to heal resentments. You can't actually do the healing. You can only help. Episode interview with Max Osiris. Find his twitterhttp://twitter.com/maxosirisart ( Max Osiris Art) and his blog athttps://maxosiris.com/ ( Max Osiris). Time Stamps [00:37 - 01:30] Max was bitten by the NFT crypto art bug in 2018 when, during his research on blockchain, he stumbled acrosshttps://superrare.com/ ( SuperRare) and the concept of art as NFTs on the blockchain. “It [NFT crypto art] seemed naturally like the evolution of art. I had the intuitive sense that this is going to be big.”   [01:31 - 02:53] Max then started submitting artwork to SuperRare, describing it as a digital and modern fine art gallery.  “They [SuperRare] looked likehttps://www.sothebys.com/en/ ( Sotheby's).”     [02:54 - 04:19] Describes himself as a transdimensional artist. Has been called a digital shaman, which he understands he might have earned through his interests in psychedelics and visionary states.    [04:20 - 04:59] Some of Max's favorite art is art that speaks to something (be it political issues or philosophical issues). Feels crypto art is a good vehicle for capturing the zeitgeist.    [05:03 - 07:20] Feels that the democratization of art is one of the most exciting aspects of NFT crypto art. Resents the idea that there is an exclusive group of people likehttps://www.kennyschachter.art/ ( Kenny Schachter) who have “great taste in art” and who, thus, dictate what great art is.    [07:25 - 08:50] Loves that crypto art has disintermediated the art world, making traditional art galleries and curators less important than they used to be. Notes that individuals can now show off their NFT crypto art collections (likehttp://twitter.com/robnessofficial ( Robness),https://www.twitter.com/XCOPYART ( X Copy), etc) on sites likehttp://oncyber.io/ ( Cyber).   [08:51 - 12:14] Has had to mint art on different platforms likehttps://knownorigin.io/ ( KnownOrigin),https://rarible.com/ ( Rarible), andhttps://opensea.io/ ( OpenSea) because, at some point, he was kicked off another platform. Was kicked off SuperRare because he used portions of Hackatao in his “https://superrare.com/artwork-v2/i1o-i1o-i1o-[edit]-love-13170 (I1O I1O I1O [EDIT] LOVE)” piece withouthttps://twitter.com/Hackatao ( Hackatao)'s permission. Was kicked off KnownOrigin because he got doxxed.    [12:15 - 13:27] When an Institut Gallery show in London demanded that Max's submission be bound by the DMCA (Digital Millenium Copyright Act), Max refused and, instead, submitted a piece titled https://knownorigin.io/gallery/586100-dmca-rejected-institut-submission (DMCA) which was mostly whitespace with a paragraph talking about the absurdity of the DMCA.   [13:38 - 14:28] Displeased that https://twitter.com/KimDotcom (Kim Dotcom) was harassed over copyright issues and has been fighting extradition for about 10 years. Largely blames industries that pay lawmakers to control individual artists through digital rights management and, invariably, stifle creativity.    [14:29 - 16:38] http://twitter.com/robnessofficial (Robness) digitized the https://opensea.io/assets/0xb932a70a57673d89f4acffbe830e8ed7f75fb9e0/7323 (64 GALLON TOTER) as a protest to copyright issues and Max being banned.  “That was like the resistance piece to me getting banned, amongst other things.”  This was to be the beginning of the Trash Art movement, with more artists joining in to stand up for each other against the gatekeeping on platforms. Following the clamour by artists that the ban on Max and Robness be lifted, the platform eventually caved, agreeing to let Max and Robness back on with hopes that they would not “cause any more trouble”.  [16:39 - 19:28] Max believes the platforms are simply trying to avoid hosting content that violates copyright laws. Resents that DMCA is used to stifle creativity, control, and extort money from artists....

They also discuss the best ways to navigate a relapse from your husband and the resentment he might feel towards you. Rob and Tami also answer a question from a female sex addict on how to build intmiacy without the sex.    TAKEAWAYS: [0:30] What do addicts need to do to better empathize with their partners?  [3:15] I'm a female sex addict and recently met someone. How do I respect my boundaries? I'm starting to unravel.  [5:55] My wife wants to know about any of the ‘new memories' I have. I have done a disclosure and my CSAT and sponsor tell me not to do it, but she keeps wanting to know more.  [10:20] My husband has had multiple relasapes. I feel so much resentment from him. Is he resentful because he's in a relapse or because he's uncovering childhood trauma?  [14:45] It's critical to join a partner group!  [15:50] What is recovery fatigue? And how do you keep going when you're mentally exhausted?  [19:20] If you don't make recovery fun. You're not going to make it.  [20:25] I'm a porn addict, but have been sober for 18 months. When will things get better with my wife?  [22:20] My wife and therapist want a 3-day disclosure workshop. What should I do? [23:50] “We're just friends.” But we're acting like we're in a relationship. It feels strange and I don't know how to navigate.  [26:55] You might have to date 16-20 people in a year to figure out the right person for you. Don't give up too soon!  [28:10] I have a trauma bond with my husband. He has a mother enmeshment. Today, the Kicking the Seat Podcast and Don Shanahan of Every Movie Has a Lesson hold up a mirror to Ben Wheatley’s new take on Rebecca (now streaming on Netflix). Though marketed as an adaptation of Daphne Du Maurier’s novel, there’s no escaping the fact that the film walks in the footsteps of Alfred Hitchcock’s eerie, Oscar-winning 1940 drama. The guys compare and contrast both films in this spoiler-lite analysis of a remake gone weird. From an oddly sped-up sensibility that runs approximately the same length as the languid original; to the injection of modern-day gender politics that may feel redundant to those who understand subtext; to the unfortunate casting of Lily James in another pseudo-Cinderella story, this is definitely a tale of two (technically three) Rebeccas. Also, Ian reviews the new Frozen short, Once Upon a Snowman, and the Hunter S. This is the third in the "Be The Good, See the Good" Series.   We will dive in to how the uniqueness in each of us strengthens all of us, and learn how we can work in our strengths and recognize that in others.   “Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”  ~Marianne Williamson, A Return To Love   What kind of family life do you have?  Do you walk on eggshells and cringe, waiting for the next bomb of conflict to drop in your home?  Is this the family life you truly enjoy coming home to? Ss are steady and stable.  Reserved and yet people-focused.  They listen and observe first, which definitely allows them to notice and be more aware of what is going on with others. When you envision a dog, you think loyal, faithful, dependable and trustworthy. For a dove, you think of a peacemaker and love. Both of these are great descriptors for the S personality style. Of the Earth elements, Ds are fire, Is are air, and an S is water, with its smooth and steady flow. “People will forget what you said.  They will forget what you did. But they will never forget how you made them feel.”  Maya Angelou My mother, Joanne Miller, wrote “Creating a Haven of Peace: When Your Feeling Down, Finances are Flat and Tempers are Rising” - she lays out how she broke the cycle of disfunction in her family and intentionally created the “haven of peace” she wanted in her own home. “Don’t ever mistake my silence for ignorance, my calmness for acceptance, or my kindness for weakness.”  Carson Kolhoff The Logsdon family countdown - I was juggling managing www.48Days.com, building www.MamaSaysNamaste.com, unschooling three children, getting the house ready for us to leave indefinitely, and prepping it to be an AirBnB.  Nathan was in real estate and super busy with housing market in Nashville, TN. With selling, sometimes it’s all about semantics.   S’s don’t “sell,”, they “serve.”  Simply switching the terminology from them “selling” to “serving” their client can make a very dynamic and successful salesperson, as they easily see things from other perspectives and can identify the need to truly serve their clients. Are you really lazy and apathetic, or are you simply avoiding conflict and pressure?  Maybe it’s more about security than personal lack of drive.  We had a marriage-centered home - our relationship took priority over our children, and they knew this.  We enforced a “7-7 Rule”, which meant kids were in their beds by 7pm at night - even if they were older and didn’t need to sleep then.  This time was sacred for Nathan and me to reconnect, hash out the day and process it all so we could be better parents for our children the next day.  Having a marriage focused relationship does not mean kids suffer.  I feel it makes children more secure knowing their parents are a united front.  We are very careful with the energy that comes into our home.  Negative or difficult topics aren’t brushed under the rug; however, they are not what we bring into our house.  Our back porch became our safe place to let it all out in the open air.  We chose to bring love, peace and connection back under our roof.  A great book to help you with the baby steps to take action in your life is The One Thing by Gary Keller For an S-style, there are many things being thrown their way, and sometimes complacency is the easiest way to get through. They are peacemakers and tend to be the go-to when teen drama erupts. It can be a lot of pressure to be the shoulder to cry on for every friend, and the stress of carrying everyone else’s burdens can be overwhelming. A coping mechanism may be to numb the emotions by TV, internet/video games, sleeping, drinking/smoking to dull the intensity to a more manageable level. When you see them start to shut down, look for ways to provide some security and consistency in an otherwise roller-coaster life. Not only are they steady, dependable and loyal, but they crave this - steadiness, dependability and loyalty - in their own lives.   Relationships have seasons.  We shift from the parent/toddler relationship, to parent/child, tween, teen, young adult…and eventually the shift is where they are no longer just children but making parenting choices for their parents.  All relationships have seasons, and that’s okay.  Love is a verb - it’s not something that just sits there.  It’s an action you do every day. Make sure you communicate the small things before they become big things. Practice positive self-talk and push yourself to get out of your comfort zone a bit. Create consistency in your life, even when there are unknowns.  Be intentional about creating steady habits that allow for some routine and predictability to help you manage the unpredictable chaos of life.  Characteristics of an S personality style:  Loyal Kind Calm & Steady Low Energy Observant Reliable Non-confrontational Indecisive Competent Peacemaker Patient Follows through with tasks Sensitive Quiet but witty Respects authority Loves to serve and support others Resists change Resents being pushed and can shut down/become passive aggressive Easygoing Relaxed They are motivated by: Deep connections with others Feeling needed (emphasize you need their help) They are upset by: Feeling insecure and/or overwhelmed To help foster the relationship: Help them to express their feelings (don’t wait until it’s a mountain - address the little molehills) Teach them how to make an informed decision so they have confidence in their ability Help them adapt to a faster pace when needed Teach them how to stand up for themselves: Kindness does not equal weakness! Practice positive self-talk Get involved in outside activities Encourage them to step outside their comfort zone - change can be positive! Give space, but don’t allow them to shut down Encouraging phrases: I so appreciate your help I love your compassionate heart I love hearing what you have to say Thank you for being so patient with me. You really thought that through - that shows me how important it was to you I really am grateful for your support   Final Tips: • If you are angry, tone it down. Strong aggressive approaches are too intimidating. • Your tone of voice and body language immediately set the stage for whether your child is able to listen or is retreating from conflict. • Allow for some consistency and routine in your daily life so your S child has comfort in the predictability. • Give your S child some time to adapt to changes. If you know of some change coming, give them advance notice so they can prepare and be able to think and talk through concerns. • High Ss don’t care for surprises. They want time to plan and process. • Ss, when hurt, can build up resentment and carry deep grudges. Work through ways to process and let things go, and stress the importance of letting the negative emotions out instead of stuffing them in. Best “cheat sheet” to find out personality style?   Ask this question: “Tell me your story” . A high S style will tell you about the relationships first. An adult will immediately tell you they are a mother, father, husband, wife, etc and tell about the family members. A kid will tell you about their pets, their siblings, and their friends. The first identifier for them will be the relationships they have. Read more about the S Personality style in this blog post:  Never Confuse Kindness for Weakness: The High S Style   Please remember to subscribe, rate and review this podcast!  Your feedback helps me deliver more of what you want - it means a lot to me as I grow this.  Thank you!   *Podcast music by the awesome Renee & Jeremy who cover "Put a Little Love In Your Heart" by Jackie DeShannon.  Props to both of them for this beautiful rendition that epitomizes what I want for families!

If you want to do it up right for Thanksgiving this year, stop dressing at the kids’ table and get yourself some Turkey Trousers from Henderson’s Pants!  A COUPLA PLUGS In the real world, you can catch me live if you’re in the Bay Area, specifically in Marin County, on December 1st when I’ll be hosting a Conversation with Michael Krazny. You may know Michael from NPR. He’s a humorist, a commentator and an author. And we’ll be at the Osher Marin JCC in San Rafael starting at 7:30 PM. You can find out more at http://hersh.co/krazny120116.  Then in January, Succotash has been invited to participate in the 16th Annual San Francisco Sketchfest! They're going to have us do a kind of roundtable with a bunch of the podcasters they’re have on hand. Too early to tell you who’s on the docket yet, but I’ll keep you informed. We’re going to be on Saturday, January 22nd, at 4:30, at Piano Fight in the city. Go to http://www.SFSketchfest.com for tix and deets. THE CLIPS 2 Dope QueensOne of the hottest shows to pop onto the soundcast radar this past year has been 2 Dope Queens with the absolutely delightful Phoebe Robinson and Jessica Williams, plus their favorite comedians who join them for stories about sex, romance, race, hair journeys, living in New York, and Billy Joel. They’re deep into their second season now, and our Associate Producer Tyson Saner has shaved us off a taste from their Epi17, “Fifty Shades of Matthew McConaughey”, where they’re joined by The Walking Dead’s Ross Marquand. That interview was bookended by two comedians, and Tyson mentioned that the show, to him, feels like a well produced LIVE talk show devoid of FCC regulations. I like that description. Proudly ResentsThere are lots and lots of fans of Adventure Time out there and friend-of-Succotash Adam Spiegelman recently talked with staff writer Kent Osborne (also star of Uncle Kent and Uncle Kent 2), on his Proudly Resents soundcast. (Adam and I were supposed to try to coffee it up when I was in LA for the Podfest back in September but between his new child and my not wanting to lose my coveted spot in the Podcast Lab, we couldn’t do it.) 288 PodcastWe had another clip uploaded to us from Matt Slayer, co-host of the 288 Podcast. I met Matt and his wife, Draven Star, in the Podcast Lab last September during the LA Podfest. They are an…interesting couple. Draven Star is an award-winning Erotic Video performer, they like bourbon — the name of their show is taken from 288 Bourbon — and their show is sort of a tribute to the Explicit rating on iTunes, you might say, In the clip they sent along, they interview porn actress Ella Nova. BertcastCongratulations to comedian Bert Kreischer, who just passed the 200 episode mark on his Bertcast soundcast! Tyson snipped us off a bit of Bert’s epi 201, where he chats with guest and fellow comic and soundcaster Zane Lamprey about the secrets of successful crowdfunding. Bert’s show is not the only soundcast to hit 200 episodes this week – big shout out to the Strange Times Show that also hit epi 200! Way to go Davian Dent, Kat Sorens, and Samantha Pett! Rex Rivetter, Private EyeWe’re definitely in a period of soundcasting where the well-produced narrative is beginning to blossom. Tyson Saner grabbed us a clip from Rex Rivetter, Private Eye, which the show description calls “a modern radio drama”. Set in 1955, it’s a hard-boiled P-I comic thriller, starring Randy Coule as Rex and series director Rhiannon McAfee as Jenny McIntosh. Epi8, which this clip is from, is called Triple Indemnity. (It’s actually part 2, but Tyson pulled this chunk because it features friend-of-Succotash Sabrina Charlie Miller (Changes In Latitudes) in the role of Luca. Mouth Time w/ReductressThe immensely popular site Reductress has been pumping out a soundcast with the great title of Mouth Time since March of this year. Tyson snipped us off a clip, featuring co-hosts Quenn and Div who “give you everything you expect from a women’s magazine in 2016.” (Tyson said he just HAD to finally check out the show because he’s been binge-listening to Gilbert Gottfried’s Amazing Colossal Podcast on Stitcher and he says every ad he has heard has been for Mouth Time. This clip is from Epi74: “Cold Storage Facility in a Chicken Farm.” Check out more Mouthtime on iTunes, Stitcher, and iHeartRadio. And don’t forget that you can now find Succotash on iHeartRAdio, too, and YouTube! We don’t have a video component tho the show, but you can listen to us anyway! GIVING THANKS I wanted to be sure to thank those of you who have been using the Amazon banner at the top of the page on our http://SuccotashShow.com homepage. We just got a check for $46 bucks and change from our skim off the top the past couple of months, which covers a month and a half of web hosting. I really appreciate it. Keep on shopping – I mean, c’mon, it’s time for Christmas, right?  Also, I know that a lot of soundcasts are using Patreon these days, but if you want to help Succotash and cut out the middle man, simply use the Donate button on our homesite. In exchange, I’ll mention your name here on the show, plug whatever you want AND I’ll send you…something. I don’t know what — I’ve got all kinds of merch from the Succotashery kicking around Studio P — so I’ll scoop something up and send it to you if you pass along a snailmail address when you donate. That's going to do it for Epi143. Please remember to pass the Succotash which is even easier now — let friends, family and absolute strangers know they can find us not only through our homesite and iTunes, Stitcher, and SoundCloud, but we're also now on the Laughable app, iHeartRadio, and even on YouTube! — Marc Hershon

That’s right, it’s me, Marc Hershon. Your host and all-electric vehicle for Epi138 of Succotash, the Comedy Soundcast Soundcast. NOTE: If you haven’t been here the past couple of episodes, we’ve started a campaign to change the generic use of the word “podcast” to “soundcast”. (I realize that this gets a little sticky for those shows that pretty much officially have “podcast” in the name. The word is part of our logo design here on Succotash and for the past 5+ years, we’ve been THE Comedy Podcast Podcast. But the name is anchoring the medium to a single device – the iPod from Apple – so I want to throw it back wide open with the new designation soundcast.  Our announcer Bill Heywatt is supposed to be cutting new intros and outros for the show to reflect the name change, but our engineer/producer Joe Paulino has had a computer meltdown at Studio P. So until he gets things back up and rolling we’re stuck with the old P-word in the open and close to the show. And also have to get around to changing the logo, as seen here. No one said this soundcast biz was going to be easy. Or did they? I can’t remember… First of all BIG news! BIG BIG News, in a way – it really isn’t going to change anything as far as I know, but Succotash is now available for your listening pleasure through the I Heart Radio chain, network, thing. It hasn’t required us to do much, as far as I can tell but we are on there! Potentially MILLIONS of new listeners can now avoid us. Just go to IHeartRadio.com and search for Succotash OR click this link! LIVE APPEARANCES! I’ve got a couple of live appearances coming up. If you’re in the San Francisco Bay Area, I’m going to be part of the 40th year reunion show of Spaghetti Jam, which was a really popular improvisational comedy show in San Francisco starting back in the 1970s. We’re gettign as many of the people that we can find that can still move most of their limbs to show up for this. It’s on Sunday, September 11th – that’s right, 9-11, best date for a comedy show ever, at the Throckmorton Theatre in Mill Valley. You can go to http://142ThrockmortonTheatre.org for tickets and information. And then later in the month – September 23-25 – I’ll be at the 5th Annual Los Angeles Podcast Festival. I’m hosting the Journalism and Podcasting panel on Sunday afternoon at 2 PM, but the rest of the time, I’ll be set up in the Podcast Lab with my equipment doing interviews so stop on by and let’s chat! Back to business. This is another installment of Succotash Clips, and it’s chock full of tasty snippets of soundcasts and podcasts from all over the web. I clipped a couple, our associate producer Tyson Saner grabbed a few, and we also have some uploaded directly to us using our upload link: http://hightail.com/u/Succotash. In alphabetical order, we’ll be hearing from Dark Journey, Dazed & Convicted, Dino & Andy’s Skull Juice, Drinking In The Park,Lesser Known Somebodies, Proudly Resents, Spirits, Tao Of Comedy, and The 85th South Show. We also have a visit to the Podcast Graveyard to hold a clip seance with a soundcast from the great beyond. Plus a Burst O’ Durst from our friend, political comedian, and social commentator Will Durst. We also have a little ditty for our pal Abner Serd. Not to mention a Scrooge McDuck–style dip into the Tweetsack. This episode of Succotash Clips is brought to you by Henderson’s Pants. If you’re in the market for fictional pants that fit like a dream and don’t really exist, you should get yourself a pair of Henderson’s Pants. THE CLIPS! Dino And Andy’s Skull JuiceLet’s start out with a clip from a brand new soundcast, one that reviewed last week for Splitsider.com. It’s got the great title of Dino And Andy’s Skull Juice, and features Dino Stamatopolous, a guy who’s written on SNL, created Adult Swim’s Moral Orel, wrote and appeared on Community, and has written a whole bunch of funny stuff besides. Andy Dick is, well, Andy Dick. He’s been a standup comedian, sketch and improv player, as well as having appeared in films and television. These guys were pals for 25 years, although, as Dino points out in episode #1, he didn’t talk to Andy for 10 years. (Our esteemed Associate Producer Tyson Saner snagged this clip from their kickoff episode, which picks up right from their opening theme song.) Lesser Known SomebodiesFriend-of-the-Succotash Abner Serd sent along a link to a comedy podcast he found out of South Africa. It’s called Lesser Known Somebodies, hosted by Johannesberg-based comedian Simmi Areff, and the latest installment features fellow local comic Alfred Adriaan. Took me a few minutes to get into the rhythm of the accent but then these guys unspool a kind of fascinating glimpse inside the current comedy scene in and around Johannesberg. (I got such a kick out of listening to Lesser Known Somebodies that I reviewed it in last week’s Huffington Post.) Proudly Resents We got a clip sent over by Adam Spiegelman, he of the Proudly Resents podcast. (He was complaining that there was no upload button on our Succotash homesite, which is true. I am working to remedy that. But you can always just got to http://hightail.com/u/Succotash and then upload a 3-5 minute MP3 clip.) He recently had Conan writer Todd Levin on to help him dismantle Ninja 3: The Domination. At one point Todd talks about the only time Conan O’Brien ever got sued. As Adam tells it, “It involves a one-hit wonder, an 80’s film, and Tim Tebo.” Dazed & Convicted: CraigslostWe got a clip uploaded to us from the delightful Monica Hamburg, host of the Dazed & Convicted soundcast. Lately, it’s been subtitled as Dazed & Convicted: Craigslost. And why, you might ask? Monica likes combing the seedier side of Craigslist and presents, literally, the pick of the litter. Litter being the operative word… The 85 South ShowTyson clipped us a taste of The 85 South Show, which is billed as “a podcast for people who don’t know what a podcast is." It’s hosted by DC Young Fly and Karlous Miller. This clip we have is from an episode done in the wake of police-involved shootings, the killing of Alton Sterling and Philando Castille, with the hosts and their guest, Last Comic Standing champ Clayton English, discussing solutions to stop the violence, and the role that comedy plays in the social dialog. #blacklivesmatter Spirits Okay, I don’t know how many times I have said on this show that we prefer to play clips rather than promos. Clips make for better, real-er sample of the show. And I can talk about ‘em. When we had Hal Lublin and Mark Gagliardi on earlier this year, they even made a definitive We Got This ruling that clips are better than promos. But some people don’t get it, and that’s fine. We support all soundcasts and so it is that spirit that I present this 30-second promo of Spirits without additional commentary… Drinking In The ParkJust the opposite of the challenge of Spirits is what I’ve got going on with a show called Drinking In The Park. The hosts are Neil and Johnny, per their direct upload to Succotash, with no last names. But they sent me the whole episode Issue 10, Live At Toronto Comicon. Not a clip, but almost 10 minutes of chat and music stuff. Still better than a promo! I sliced out a few minutes of them talking to some joker who calls himself That Joker Guy. Doctor Who: Dark JourneyThis is a clip from a show called Doctor Who: Dark Journey. I don’t think it’s officially affiliated with the British TV series Dr. Who at all. In fact, I know it isn’t, because here’s the note that came with clip: “The attached file is a clip from AM Audio Media's main audio drama Doctor Who: Dark Journey. Dark Journey is an unofficial fan made audio drama featuring professional actors, writers, sound designers and composers. Our theme tune is by the UK prog rock group 'Traffic Experiment'. Dark Odyssey is a bit of a wink and nod self parody of it and all things fan made.” The Tao of ComedyThis podcast has a pretty grim origin story. The host, Kelly Maclean, had been at last year’s Just For Laughs festival in Canada, where she interviewed a number of comedians. Four months later, her brother Andrew was killed in a car accident. The conversations she had in Montreal were the things that brought her back from crushing depression and so she’s launched the podcast in order to continue that kind of deep interchange with funny people. In this clip from Epi10, she’s talking to Brad Williams, standup and co-host of the About Last Night soundcast. Podcast GraveyardIn the 5 years that I’ve been running Succotash, comedy writer Caleb Bacon has had two very listenable soundcasts. The first was called The Gentleman’s Club which took a podcast dirtnap at the end of 2012. A few months later, Caleb was back with more of an instructional soundcast called Man School, in which he talked to guys from various walks off life, although most were somehow connected to show business, and he’d get their story about some deep subject matter. A little over a year ago, in June of 2015, the last known class of Man School was in session. The clip we're featuring is from a few epis before that one, #83, with Caleb and his guest comic, writer and fellow podcaster Mick Betancourt (The Mick Betancourt Show), talking about life as a sober alcoholic. Country Fair SongThe latest ditty from our friend Abner Serd celebrates the "season" of county fairs. Special thanks to Abner for joining our "Soundcast Movement"! SUCCOTASH CAN USE YOUR HELP! There are a number of things you could do that would help us out in making sure that Succotash continues. First and foremost would be your kind indulgence to head over to iTunes to both rate and review us favorably (AKA 5 stars, please!) Our Donate button is clickable 24/7 at http://SuccotashShow.com, and we have now taken the limits off of how much you can give. That’s right! The sky’s the limit for you listeners who have been holding back because you were afraid you couldn’t give enough. While visiting our homesite, feel free to also click the Amazon banner at the top of the page (although I just learned recently that it may not be working properly if you browse with Google Chrome.) And for those of you who enjoy wearing t-shirts and sweatshirts, or dig drinking your hot beverages from a porcelain mug, we also have merch at the Succotashery, accessible on that very same homesite. Yes, ‘tis I, Marc Hershon. Happy holidays and welcome to Epi122 of Succotash, the Comedy Podcast Podcast. I’m back with another edition of Succotash Clips, the version of this podcast where we feature clips, snippets, and bits from comedy podcasts harvested from all around the Internet. Special thanks, as always, to our Associate Producer, Tyson Saner, for going out and getting many of the offerings to be found in this installment.  I hope you find at least one new show that you’d like to track down and download after listening to our little Whitman’s Sampler of a show. Coming up this episode we have slices off of Comic Book Jones, The David Steinberg Podcast, The Eisenstein Effect, The Gisele Show, The GSMH Podcast, Proudly Resents, Sweet Feathery Jesus, and Wooden Overcoats. What Else We Got? In addition to the clippage, we’ve got our Burst O’ Durst segment with political comedian and social commentator Will Durst, where he’s running down the Top 10 comedic news stories of 2015 for you. This episode is sponsored by Henderson's Pants seasonal Jingle Drawers. And we’ve also got your tweets and emails and reviews in the Tweetsack. And that’s about it. But isn’t that enough, really? Clips David Steinberg PodcastFunny how younger comics have, for the most part, paved the way for older comics to make their way into podcasting. The great David Steinberg is now jumping in, even though he’s mainly been busy writing and directing television for years. He started out as an improvisor and a standup. In fact, he was one of my comedy influencers back when I was first figuring out what made something funny. The guest in his second episode is Kathy Griffin and, even though David is a great conversationalist, with Kathy in the room you don’t really have to try that hard to keep the chatter going.   Wooden OvercoatsIf you’re a fan of British comedies, particularly the sitcom kind, there’s a podcast out that just wrapped up its 8-show, first season run that doesn’t miss a beat. It’s called Wooden Overcoats, created by David K. Barnes, and features a fantastic cast that really bring the characters to life. “Wooden overcoat” is slang for “coffin” and the premise of the show is that the only undertaker in a sleepy Channel island village is bent out of shape when a rival sets up shop. There’s intrigue, violence, romance, and a narrating mouse. The Gisele Show Podcast, mit Friends! You might know Gisele Nett from her gig co-hosting the Nooner podcast on SModcast Internet Radio with Marty Yu. She’s started her own, entitled The Gisele Show Podcast, mit Friends! There are a pile of cast people, too: Jonna Tamases, John Pirruccello, Jon Stahl, and Gena Key. Tyson clipped this from her very first episode, featuring guest comedian Cassandra Cardenes. GSMH (God-Shaped Mommy Hole)I’m not sure how our associate producer Tyson Saner finds some of these shows. Which is precisely why he’s as good as he is as our top clip clipper! Thanks to him we bring you a snippet of the GSMH Podcast, the initials of which stand for God-Shaped Mommy Hole. Headed up by a dude named Toni Rager, it’s a bunch of friends, just hanging out. There’s also Louis, Tim, Clicks and Freiddo, plus Rubbi Rager, but her mic was dead this episode. This clip features an interview technique with the acronym FORD, and some of the gang tries to explains to the rest of the gang who Joe Rogan is. Proudly ResentsThis clip comes in directly from the source: Adam Spiegelman. Friend of Succotash, as well as past and, no doubt, future guest, Adam is the host of the Proudly Resents podcast. It had grown into kind of a mishmash of content and Adam was having a tough time figuring out what his own podcast was supposed to be. But in his note to me this week, he says that he has, “finally split up my podcast.” Meaning he’s got different bits and pieces but they’re all making sense. He says he got recaps, interviews, Nicko – his sometimes sidekick, and “The best of the worst Christmas movies.” He recently did a live “Saving Christmas” show at the Improv in Hollywood, with Jimmy Pardo, Todd Levin (a writer for Conan), and Sharon Houston, who is a podcaster and TV producer in the same vein as Adam. Sweet Feathery JesusWe’ve not played anything for quite a while from the boys over at the Sweet Feathery Jesus podcast – Belasco, Beardo and Chuck Turtleman – so let’s correct that now with a segment from their show. This clip is from their #111, entitled On The Wagon Train, because their fourth cast member, Booze, is absent. It features an installment of their segment Denmark Is Shit. The Eisenstein EffectComedian Vickie Eisenstein hosts The Eisenstein Effect, which is – according to her homesite – “a weekly jaunt to explore the careers, hobbies, and passions of funny, artistic, talented, and intelligent guests!” I think she’s based in Chicago, so she’s got access to lots of like-minded comedic types. Including the guest in Epi23 of her show, Anthony LeBlanc. Comic Book JonesThere’s a comic book store in Staten Island, New York, a legendary place on Forest Avenue, called Comic Book Jones. It also happens to be the name of their podcast, hosted by proprietors Socko and Tiger Jones. They’ve been podcasting since Fall of 2012 and they’re still going strong with their special brand of geek chatter and comic book mayhem. And, at least around Thanksgiving, talk about disgusting White Castle Thanksgiving sliders. Great Gift Ideas! If you’re looking for something special for that someone special, might I suggest you visit our homesite, at http://SuccotashShow.com, where you can use the Amazon banner at the top of our page to slide over to the world’s biggest online store. Every time you purchase something there after using out link to get there, we get a little taste of the purchase price, but at no cost to you. You can also shop at our Succotashery, if that special someone would like something with our show logo on it. And if WE’RE your someone special, you can click the Donate button in the upper right hand corner of the page and slip us some delicious cash to help us keep Succotash alive in 2016! That’s going to do it for Epi122 of Succotash Clips, the Comedy Podcast Podcast. Hopefully I’ll get another episode or two out before the end of the year. No special plans for a year-end show but you never know – maybe I’ll whip something up. I know this time of year gets busy but feel free to take Succotash along while you’re Christmas shopping or heading off to visit friends and family this holiday season. And while you out there visiting, don’t be afraid to pass a little Succotash! — Marc Hershon

Welcome to Epi90 of Succotash, the Comedy Podcast Podcast, the show that tracks down clips of comedy podcasts from all over the web and sweeps them into a neat pile every week or so for you to scoop up with your dustpan-like ears and enjoy. You, dear reader, must also like to sweep a little bit into your eyes, since you're visiting the show blog. We’ve got a jammed packed episode: A half a dozen podcast clips. TWO of our Burst O’ Durst segments with political comedian and social commentator Will Durst, who talks to us about the Washington Redskins debacle and how to properly observe the 4th of July. A brand new Henderson’s Pants commercial for their "Camo CutOffs". Not to mention the TweetSack. But we also have a special guest for Epi90, making his return to the Succotash microphones: Jordan Brady, who was here last time to talk about his documentary called I Am Comic. Now he has his followup movie out – which he was musing about doing the last time we chatted with him – and it’s called I Am ROAD Comic. It’s a funny documentary and neat little study of comedy and comics on the road. I’m very excited to have Jordan back on the show and he was very kind to give me a lot of time in our Skype chat which you will hear in this episode. The interview is pretty long, so the show is front-loaded with the clips and other business and then we’ll spent the rest of the episode with Jordan. Since he last joined us, he’s also become a podcaster, hosting Respect The Process. It's a show about the world of commercial film production and we talk about that in our interview as well. (BTW, the title for this epi's blog came from a lip slip I made while talking to Jordan - a cross between chatting and Twitter, which was inadvertently coined to describe carrying on a prolonged exchange with someone via Twitter. Too bad Rich Hall doesn't write Sniglets books any more!) THE 10 MOST ACTIVE SHOWS ON STITCHER'S TOP 100 COMEDY PODCAST LIST I'm not sure if anyone really appreciates or enjoys this feature but I do! It keeps me looking at the top-ranked shows on Stitcher and that helps me to stay in touch with what's going on out there in PodcastLand. So a shout-out to Ed Wallick from the Don't Quit Your Daycast podcast who gave me the idea for this list in the first place! An offshoot of that is my appreciation of Dean's yodel of our show's name, which has begun to really develop over time, as can be heard over the theme song for this installment and again at the tail end of the show.   CLIPS Thanks, as always, to our Associate Producer Tyson Saner, who provided a number of the clips heard this episode! The Geek GenerationThis clip - from a podcast we’ve featured before – was provided by the main man behind the show, Rob Logan. He says, “We've started playing a game on The Geek Generation called Smash-Up, which combines two categories or concepts of things together, creating some hilarious results for things you've probably never heard of. Recently, our Smash-Up category was to combine Godzilla with any other movie, and in this clip myself and my co-host Mikey read the responses sent in from our super-creative fans.” Word to the wise: Comedy podcasters are welcome to submit 3-5 minute MP3 or WAV clips from their shows to clips@SuccotashShow.com, and we'll feature them on the show! Proudly ResentsFriend-of-Succotash and past special guest Adam Spiegelman recently posted a "Succotash Shoutout" version of his show Proudly Resents. He had some bits, pieces, and tail ends of interview from his podcast so he put them together, Succotash-fashion, to serve to his listeners. Thanks, Adam! We're featuring part of that stew: A snippet of a conversation Adam had with filmmaker Jeremy Sklar. Revelstoke Jim’s Canadian ContentTyson harvested this next clip and, he couldn’t have known this, but I’ve been aware of Revelstoke Jim since the early aughts. It was around the year 2000 or 2001 that I began to make a series of guest appearances on But Seriously, an early webcast – there was an attempt by some broadcast-oriented companies to livecast shows – hosted by comedian Brian Malow. His show was part of a rudimentary network of shows and the one that was on right after his was hosted by none other than Revelstoke Jim. So I would catch snippets of his show. Here, some decade and some years later, is yet another snippet, live and direct from Revelstoke, British Columbia. Comedy And Everything ElseWe had comedian Fred Stoller on Succotash way back in Epi15 when we were one of the first podcasts that he’s been a guest on. Since then, Fred’s become a favorite guest of a lot of shows. (So many, in fact, that I’m surprised he hasn’t started one of his own, because he’d be a great host, I think.) He was on a recent episode of Comedy & Everything Else, hosted by comedian Jimmy Dore and Stefanie Zamorano, who co-host a solid, funny show (in league with Dore's own The Jimmy Dore Show.) Green Up!The world of pop culture-based comedy podcasts is both deep and wide, which means there are a lot of them. Tyson found us this one, which I hadn’t heard of before, hosted by Roy, Phillip, and Ryan. (Or, as they refer to themselves on their show blog, “three fatties”.) Their focus is on video games – console and PC, as well as TV, movies, and podcasts. (Hmm. Wonder if they ever mention SuccotashI?) In this clip, they’re musing about getting a-whuppin’ as a kind of celebration of Father’s day. There's your Epi90 in a bloggy nutshell. Enjoy! And don't say I never gave you anything… — Marc Hershon

We're back. It seems I'm saying that every 'sode now for one reason or another. This time we got delayed and had some technical difficulties (which are addressed by producer/engineer Joe Paulino during the show.) Epi14 has finally dropped, as they say, and it's a doozy. So much show that we allowed it to run seven whole minutes over our usual one-hour running time! One of the main missions of Succotash is to expose you, our Gentle Listeners, to all manner of comedy podcastery, especially some of those shows you might not have even heard about, let along listened to yet. And I can proudly say that this epi does just that. There are a couple of clips from some previously visited shows but mostly you're going to hear some new stuff that hasn't popped up on everyone's radar yet. (And if it's a show you already now then congrats - you beat us to it!) We've got a couple of Studio P visits this show. One is with the owner of Studio P, the aforementioned Joe Paulino. He pops in so I can make him plug his new CD, a delightful relaxing musical blend entitled Inhale Slowly. If you like to take a break and ratchet the madness down a few notches once in a while, this collection of meditation-inspired tracks by Joe and collaborator Tim White will get you there. Click on the link to visit Inhale Slowly and pick up a copy. We also have another Boozin' With Bill segment. More intense than our previous encounters, Studio P has installed a functional wet bar and Bill forces your host to imbibe his latest concoction, the "Popper Stopper". (I've popped the formula down there toward the bottom of the blog.) Before I get to the lineup, let me remind you that you can catch my blatherings in a more focused form each week: as a contributing reviewer to This Week In Comedy Podcasts over on Splitsider.com. Jesse Fox and a handful of other opinionators each pick a comedy podcast that has caught our fancy that week and we write them up. Finally, Succotash has gone listener-supported! (Okay, so we haven't ever had a real sponsor yet...) Look over there in the right-hand column on the blog page and you'll see the shiny new Donate button. Just click away and through the miracles of PayPal, you'll be able to toss a few digital dollars into our virtual hat if you'd like to help us defay the costs of producing this fine program. We'd be much obliged and will mention your name in an upcoming show as one of our benefactors. Ok! Enough rambling. Here's who's up in Epi14 of Succotash, the Comedy Podcast Podcast. Just click on the show titles to visit their homesites... • Improv 4 Humans New in the land of podcasts, Matt Besser of the UCB Theater in Los Angeles hosts this foray into bringing some core elements of longform improv comedy to the audio arena. He's joined in this clip by Chad Carter and Sean Conroy. • Skeletor's Mouthpiece What a fun discovery! Two lads from Hertforshire, England — Scratcher and Roberts – sit 'round and snipe at issues of the day. Guest Luke McFayden in this clip, where a rebuttal letter is read in response to a notice of traffic violation received by one of the boys. • CB Radio This is our second time around with host Cameron Buchholtz, whose interviewing skills get better and better with each podcast. Here he's got pretty much a podcast exclusive with guest comedian Brody Stevens, who pulls back the curtain on his recent Twitter-perceived breakdown. • Ham Radio Also a second visit, this time from the Northwest's Brett Hamill in the form of a commercial for one of his show's mythological sponsors. (Hey! We have one of those, too!) • Plan X Network Here's a new-to-Succotash podcast. Not sure who these folks are or where they're from and I take 'em to task for it a little bit following their clip. I like to be able to give podcasters their due – most of us are slogging this out without a lot of recognition – but when your p'cast's homesite doesn't have much info on you (AND you sent us the clip yourself!), there's only so much we can say. • Pool Party Radio Hosted by Parker Arizona and Jason Frisbee (great names!), PPR is one of those free-wheeling discussion-style podcasts where folks generally shoot the shit about anything and everything. In this clip, they're talking movies and get into something I can appreciate - what I call the "pussification" of classic monsters in recent films. • FUHcast Their title stands for File Under Horrible and the hosts - Bill and Jim - toss around a number of topics that get their goats and their dander up. Even their goat's dander, occasionally. Out of Chicago, these guys channel their creativity in this clip into a sketch about Michael Jackson based recent news that surfaced regarding one of his brothers. (I don't mean to pick on these guys in particular but I hold the FUHcast up as an example of a show that could be made better simply by ramping up the audio quality - that goes for a lot of the programs out there. Nothing personal, guys - I appreciate what you're doing!) • We Hate Movies I pretty much completely mangle my mention of the four hosts' names - Andrew Jupin, Stephen Sajdak, Erik Szyszka and Chris Cabin (well, three out of four) - so apologies, gents. I love their take in this clip about the idea for a GOOD Star Wars-based TV series: The story of Lando Calrissian in a The Wire-style telling of the Cloud City story. (I'm not a squeamish guy, language-wise, and we do carry an Explicit warning on the podcast but I don't believe these fellows could cram more gratuitous uses of the word "fuck" into this clip...) As a kind of memorial to podcaster Adam Spiegelman's recently removed tonsils, we roll out three related offerings next... • Proudly Resents  Adam hosts his "Cult Movie Podcast" each episode and this clip is from a recent show featuring Crystal Angel, a rare creature, indeed - she's an avowed fan of Adam Sandler's Jack And Jill movie, which has not been kindly received. Guest Judith Benezra helps to gentle roast her. • Dream Tweet Spiegleman produces what's being billed as "The Game Show To Go", hosted by comedian Jonathan Corbett. I think this clip comes from a show that was produced in a Mini Cooper (slightly creepy) and features two contestants who are trying to guess which celebrity supplied one of a trio of tweets. The prize is five bucks. (I see a future on GSN...) • Luggage Tuesdays This is the first time Succotash features a possible podcast. Mike Spiegleman, Adam's brother and a San Francisco-based comic, has a blog entitled Luggage Tuesdays and his sibling is urging him to turn his writings into a podcast. Here's one of the test segments so we can all get a taste of what that might be like. • Burst O' Durst We round out Epi14 with a visit from our fave political wag Will Durst, who shines his wry light on the Herman Cain misfire. (If you're in the San Francisco Bay Area, don't miss Will's Big Fat Year End Kiss Off Comedy Show XVII -it's all over the place the last week of the year so Google it (click the title to link to the Yelp listing for the show on New Year's Eve in Alameda.) Okay, that's it! Go pass that Succotash! — Marc Hershon
