Paul described the gospel he preached with these verbs about Christ: died, buried, raised, and APPEARED! That last verb is very important, yet is often neglected when people think of the good news. But what good news it is—not that Jesus is alive, but that Jesus is around and wants us to have an encounter with his living presence. This series will explore how real and life-changing it is when we realize that Jesus is NOW APPEARING! ----------------- No matter where you are on your journey of faith, you belong here. We are a non-denominational church driven by our mission to make and grow followers of Jesus. To learn more about our church and how to get connected, we invite you to visit https://thehills.org/.
If we were to be honest, I think we all would have to admit that somewhere, sometime we all have asked or thought; “But What About?”, You know what I mean; a doubt concerning God? This week, Rick Atchley, the lead minister with “The Hills Church” in Fort Worth Texas continues His series of messages: “But What About?”, answering difficult questions of faith that are from the hearts of just regular people like you and me. So, have you ever asked in your own mind “but what about” some of God's seemingly extreme harshness in the Bible's Old Testament? And how do we mesh that view of God with what we see in the New Testament? In today's message Rick Atchley takes a step back to get a “Big Picture View” of what's going on and why sometimes God's perspective of People / Events may be beyond our limited scope. So, here's Rick to bring some perspective to Judgement, Love, and forgiveness and how we can know and trust the God who bears scars that should have been ours! This week, Rick Atchley, the lead minister with “The Hills Church” in Fort Worth Texas continues His series of messages: “But What About?”, answering difficult questions of faith that are from the hearts of just regular people like you and me. It's not rocket science to realize that Evil is all around us. In fact, I'm gonna say the question of Evil is THE Most prevalent argument, excuse, question, that people express when they have a “But What About” moment. And for most, that moment comes from a painful experience that tears at their hearts and lives. I'm not sure the answer Rick gives about Evil is one that will set comfortably when you hear it but that does not make it less true?!So, here's Rick with difficult answers to a most difficult question that we all ask; “But What About Evil?” To support this ministry financially, visit: https://www.oneplace.com/donate/326/29

It's Christmas time; let the battle begin! Battle? Buring the holidays please say it's not so! Yet for most people the days leading up to Christmas are filled with a battle between the stress of the holidays and the Joy we know we should feel with the celebration of the birth of the promised messiah! In fact our speaker this month, Rick Atchley, contends that, just like when Christ was born, fear and stress are major players during the Christmas season. Maybe that's why four times in the Bible's birth narratives the angels say Do not be afraid! This month, Rick Atchley, lead minister with the Hills Church in Fort Worth Texas, has been unpacking why, despite all the anxiety and stress, Christmas should make us bold because, there's something about Jesus coming that makes fear shrink back. Today's message is entitled Fearless Joy. So, here's Rick with the keys for finding the Joy that comes when we really get Christmas To support this ministry financially, visit: https://www.oneplace.com/donate/326/29

Have yourself a Fearless Christmas! Now there's a greeting you hardly ever hear let alone say. Can't say I've ever seen that one on a Christmas Card either. And yet our speaker this month Rick Atchley contends that, just like when Christ was born, fear and stress are a major component in our lives, even, yes, at Christmas time. Yet the words announcing the birth of Jesus are punctuated with the assurance; Do not be afraid! Rick Atchley is the lead pastor with the Hill's Church in Fort Worth, Texas. Today's message is entitled Fearless Surrender. The Christmas season is full of joy, but it is also full of stress. And that's how it was when Christ was bornborn into a scandalous situation, into an occupied nation, under an oppressive regime, ruled by a maniac - murderous, governor, forced to escape as a refugee to a foreign country - a time of joy and anxiety. Perhaps that's why four times in the birth narratives the angels say Do not be afraid. Jesus was a freedom fighter. He liberated people from the powers of darkness so they could become who they were created to be. So if Jesus is our rabbi, we need to be just as committed to the ministry of helping people claim “no longer slaves” status. This series explores what that looks like.

Christians will not always agree on how to best vote their faith convictions, but we can agree on the importance of following the way of Jesus during an election season. What does that look like?
Pastor Rick provides timely insight about how following the way of Jesus includes knowing Scripture and the voice of the Spirit and how knowing Scripture is the way you discern the voice of the Spirit. It's not either/or; rather it's both/and. Hear how he sees the next generation and encourages families to foster both Biblical literacy and listening to the voice of God for today. May God's word feed you and His Spirit lead you... Reach out to us at nextgennow@thehills.org and find more information about The Hills Church at www.thehills.org.

"If anyone is in Christ, he/she is a new creation.” Jesus is not offering to clean up the old; he is offering to enable the new. Because of his death and resurrection, the possibility now exists for us to be fully released to become who we were always meant to be, who we can be recreated to be. The old you is buried and dead. You have been born again. Welcome to You 2.O!
