In what feels like Quarantine Episode 1003, the Deucecast Movie Show crew joins together via another Zoom meeting to discuss another draft... this time, not just the "Hey! It's That Guy!'s , but also the "Hey, its That Girl!'s as well." Mikey, Dave, and #TwitterlessDrEarl bring in the young, heavy hitter, Spawn of Ryfun, Every since he was a Lowercase G (But now he's a big G) from Southeast Georgia, Garrison. After the drafts that saw each of the guys build their movie studio with actors, then actresses, then directors, it's time to fill the studio with the supporting casts. To determine who goes first, a few rounds of Exhibition Denzel commences, before a real elimination style Denzel match ensues. Among some of the draft picks, John Wick's butler... a Disney voice over legend... Ben Affleck's Gone sister... Friday Night Kyle... a few that can be argued shouldn't be there... and that CCH Pounder lady... Plus the revelation that "Grand Daddy Daycare" exists.
Another week, another episode from Quarantine Central, and Mikey, Dave, and #TwitterlessDrEarl. First up, a random game of See This Not That with 80s movie stars... and to bring in more movies and more opinions, it's the pride of St. Simon's Island, Georgia, that being Scottie Ryfun... and what's better than one Ryfun? Ice cream. But in lieu of having ice cream, how about another Ryfun? Lil G Ryfun returns again (and even has his pic on the website!) Finally, to the Top Five... One of the most crucial parts of any film is the beginning, and the guys want to give their Favorite Movie Opening Sequences of All Time. Also randomly discussed... Truman Capote... Ziro the Hutt... Annie Hall... the pretty of Ana de Armas... the early acting of Katie Heigl... JCVD's birthright... Leonard Nimoy's kid show... when Ryfun woke up Danny Glover... the old man that is Lil G Ryfun... Dave sees Star Wars on HBO... These are the movies discussed, and where they are streaming at the time of recording: 2001: A Space Odyssey (DirecTV) Baby Driver (FX Now) Blade Runner (Netflix) Close Encounters of the Third Kind (Showtime) The Dark Knight (DirecTV) Ghostbusters (for rental) The Godfather (for rental) Indiana Jones & the Temple of Doom (Netflix) Indiana Jones & the Last Crusade (Netflix) Inglorious Basterds (Netflix) Jaws (DirecTV; Cinemax) Kiss Kiss Bang Bang (for rental) Lethal Weapon 3 (STARZ) The Lion King (Disney+) Minority Report (Netflix) Mission Impossible III (for rental) National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation (Hulu) Police Story (Criterion Channel; Kanopy) Quantum of Solace (HBO) Pulp Fiction (STARZ) Raiders of the Lost Ark (Netflix) Saving Private Ryan (DirecTV) Scream (Showtime) Seems Like Old Times (Crackle) Star Wars: The Voyage Home (Disney+) Up (Disney+)
In a final episode together (for now, anyway), Mikey and Dave take a look at the studio draft... first, the guys drafted the best Actors around for their own studios. Then, then best actresses. And now, the guys pick their favorite directors. And like always, the Spawn of Ryfun, the Lowercase G who now is a Big G, calls in to select the directors to direct their films. First up, a classic round of The Ryan Phillippe Game, then picking one by one -- Matt Reeves... Greta Gerwig... Baumbach! Watiti! Nolan and much more! Who would you pick to lead your studio? (NOTE: Recorded before social distancing became a strong suggestion in many areas, as well as before Kenny Rogers passed away)
Feliz Navidad to all, as the Deucecast heads towards Christmas Day... but before the crew does the annual gift giving (which will be next week), there is another matter at hand. Selecting those female counterparts to go along with the actors selected for the guy's fictional movie studios in Ep 405. And once again, the Pride of Albany Georgia, Spawn of Ryfun, Young G joins the show to give his take. First up, birthday movies, which always helps you feel a little old when you find out that Kingsman is five years old, Oceans Twelve is 15 years old, Legends of the Fall is 25 years old and The Jerk is going on 40... Then, a little game to figure out who goes first, and then the guys dive into the Actress Draft, each picking five to sign to an exclusive deal for their own studios. Who gets picks? How fast will d$ pick Amy Adams? Who takes ScarJo? Which Brie will #TwitterlessDrEarl go for, Larson or Alison? Will Mikey actually consider Melissa McCarthy? And what surprising selection does Young G make his #1 draft pick? As a recap, here is who was chosen in the Actor Draft: Garrison – Leonardo DiCaprio… Tom Cruise… Jake Gyllenhaal… John David Washington… Paul Rudd… Michael Keaton… Henry Cavill… d$ – The Rock… Idris Elba… Christian Bale… Tom Hardy… Winston Duke… John Cho… Zac Efron Michael – Ryan Gosling… Robert Pattison… Adam Driver… Michael B Jordan… Nicolas Cage… Tom Hanks… Iko Uwais… #TwitterlessDrEarl – Jemaine Clement… Willem Dafoe… James McAvoy… Timothee Chalemet… Edward Norton… Ryan Reynolds… Andrew Garfield…
Sometimes you just need family, and when its the family in the movies, its even better. Mikey, Dave and #TwitterlessDrEarl tackle the topic of relatives in movies... but to get an expert word on it, two people who excel at being father and son -- Scotty Ryfun and Garrison, the Spawn of Ryfun, also known as the Pride of Tifton Georgia! But first, birthday movies! Checking out the movies that released in August in 2014 (Birdman!), 2009, 2004 and on and on back, all the way until 55 years ago, when Mary Poppins came out. A rousing game of Denzel with all the guys, and then a great top five list filled with movies that feature actors and actresses that are blood relative... Sheens! Cusacks! Bridges! Wilsons! Branaugh and Thompsons... wait, what? Ryfun puts his own spin on the list itself, as #TwitterlessDrEarl cannibalizes Dave's list, and Mikey desperately searches for any relative of Kevin Costner who was in the same movie so Mikey can make that one movie his entire list. Fun. Frivolity. Ryfuns. Good times. Great oldies.
