Sermon number two in a three sermon series, Simple Church; Small Groups.
Our Friday shows are always excellent during the NFL season and we started things off on the right foot with our on-air SuperContest coverage and the return of The Odds Report. Scott Cooley from DSI Sportsbook joined us this week to talk about The Cappers Cup and other contests at DSI that have reasonable entry fees and good opportunities for account holders to get involved. Adam touched on the BangTheBook SuperContest and shared his Week 1 thoughts for his SuperContest picks. Brent, a risk manager at DSI Sportsbook, joined us for The Odds Report. Sharp money is all over the place in both the college football and the NFL betting markets, so the guys looked at where that action has come in and where the lines have been placed as a result. This is a favorite segment of our listeners and Brent shed a lot of light on the industry, what he does, and the importance of paying attention to the line moves.
On the Friday September 7 edition of BangTheBook Radio, host Adam Burke was joined by Scott Cooley of DSI Sportsbook to talk about the exciting contests going on at DSI and also to chat about the SuperContest. The Cappers Cup is DSI’s version of the SuperContest and is one of three great contests in play for the NFL season. The guys also talked a little bit about Adam’s SuperContest picks, as he discussed three strong opinions and a couple of games that could end up making it onto the card. The guys talked about the challenges and some of the intricacies of the contest that make it so difficult.
Another full week of BangTheBook Radio broadcasts is in the books. Host Adam Burke talked at the top and bottom of today's shows, as scheduled guest Scott Cooley from DSI came down with an illness. In his place, Adam talked about the contests being offered at DSI Sportsbook this football season and about the free contests going on over at BangTheBook.com as well. BTB writer Rich Lammons made his BangTheBook Radio debut on today's show, as he sat down with Adam to chat about home field advantage, Washington vs. Auburn, Houston vs. Rice, and Ole Miss vs. Texas Tech. A summary of his thoughts on the NFC South, the teams he previewed for us at BTB, wrapped up that segment. To finish things up for this week, Adam took the reins once again and hit on the college football games that we had not covered previously throughout the week. He also gave a few MLB betting tips for this weekend and beyond as rosters are about to expand.
