Lebensjahr in Deutschland. We're back, and it's time to start unraveling this big mystery by working from the one answer we have - Kinzo is already dead and Natsuhi and Krauss are trying to hide it! Unfortunately, Beatrice is not able to game master, having become a silent captive of Bernkastel and Lambdadelta's treachery. What can we learn from this new game that Ronove describes as without love? And who the heck was that Rika-clone in the prologue?
High cholesterol is one of the most widely discussed—and established—risk factors in medicine. But reams of research now show that while it is key to cardiovascular risk, it is not the whole story. In this episode of A Whole New Level, editorial director Mike Haney sits down with Dr. Ronald Krauss, one of the world's leading lipid researchers and a pioneer in understanding how different forms of LDL—and the physiological factors around them—affect cardiovascular risk.Dr. Krauss explains why the basic link between cholesterol and heart disease is well established among experts—but also why the standard cholesterol panel often misses the deeper metabolic story. Drawing on decades of research, he walks through how lipoproteins, particle size, triglycerides, and metabolic health interact to determine whether cholesterol actually becomes dangerous.Along the way, the conversation explores why cardiovascular disease remains the leading killer despite statins and decades of research—and how factors like obesity, insulin resistance, and inflammation reshape the lipid landscape in ways that traditional tests may not capture. The result is a clearer framework for understanding cardiovascular risk: not just how much cholesterol is in the blood, but how it's being transported, how long those particles circulate, and what metabolic conditions are driving them.Sign Up to Get Your Free Ultimate Guide to Glucose: https://levels.link/wnlIn this episode, we coverWhy the cholesterol–heart disease link isn't actually controversial among researchersCholesterol vs. lipoproteins: why the particles carrying cholesterol matter more than the number itselfSmall dense LDL: how triglyceride metabolism produces the most harmful particlesApoB and particle counts: why many researchers prefer measuring particles instead of cholesterol massLipoprotein(a): the genetically driven risk factor affecting up to a third of the populationMetabolic syndrome: the cluster of conditions that amplifies cardiovascular riskWhy carbohydrates and metabolic dysfunction can drive harmful lipid patternsThe saturated fat debate: why food context and metabolic health matter more than simple fat categories

In this episode, Paul Krauss, MA LPC, interviews author and philanthropist Nick Cooney about his new book, "What We Don't Do: Inaction in the Face of Suffering and the Drive to Do More." Together, they examine how Cooney challenges listeners to confront the hidden consequences of their inaction, arguing that today, failing to act in the face of suffering can have even greater repercussions than direct harm. The conversation delves into psychological barriers that keep people from responding to global and local crises, while highlighting practical, empowering steps to transform awareness into meaningful intervention. Through accessible dialogue and Cooney's research-driven insights, Krauss guides listeners to reflect on how cultivating an attitude toward considering what they don't do and what they do-- can translate everyday choices into powerful, positive change. Nick Cooney is the founder and Managing Partner of Lever VC, a venture capital fund focused on alternative protein startups with a global investment reach. He has spent nearly two decades advancing the alternative protein sector, including founding the Lever Foundation and Good Food Institute, and has written extensively on food innovation and philanthropy. Cooney is an influential industry leader, recognized for his investments, writings, and global speaking engagements on plant-based and clean meat industries. Savage discusses the upcoming changes to the US dietary guidelines as proposed by RFK Jr. The new guidelines call for increased consumption of saturated fats, diverging from established recommendations based on scientific studies. The new guidelines are based on research by Dr. Ronald Krauss, who found that saturated fats may be less harmful than previously thought. However, Dr. Krauss himself does not recommend increasing saturated fat intake. The host critiques RFK Jr.'s lack of scientific and medical background and warns against adopting the carnivore diet, which eliminates all plant-based foods. The discussion covers the history of the diet-heart hypothesis, the French paradox, and conflicts of interest in past dietary guidelines.
Oh fuck, six people are dead! In the middle of the night, someone killed Krauss, Gohda, Rudolf, Kyrie, Rosa, and Shannon and dumped them in the shed, then painted a strange occult marking on the shed door! The baroque and grotesque murder mystery begins this week as Battler takes it on himself to question the people around him and try to prevent his Aunts from increasing the body count further now that Natsuhi has pulled Kinzo's favorite rifle from storage... This week on Backlog Dialogues, some bodies have been discovered!

Our story begins by introducing a family. A family of rich assholes. Meet the Ushiromiyas, a family led by a domineering dilletante, Kinzo, and his four backstabbing offspring, Krauss, Eva, Rudolf, and Rosa. It's time for their annual family conference, and the four siblings are jockeying for money and power. But our hero, Battler, doesn't care about that, he just wants to catch up with his cousins Jessica, George, and Maria, and enjoy the finer aspects of the female figure. Rounding out the crew are a host of servants, the spouses of the four, and the family doctor, for a total of eighteen people on an Island as a storm approaches. And to perfectly set up the mystery, here's a portrait of a mysterious woman, the Witch Beatrice, and an unsettling epitaph dedicated to her... This week on Backlog Dialogues, we meet a very unique family. (This ep is a long one, I'm very, very sorry, there is a LOT of setup.)

Theoretical physicist and bestselling author Lawrence Krauss (A Universe from Nothing, The Known Unknowns) explores the biggest questions we can ask: How did the universe begin? Why is there something rather than nothing? What is consciousness? And what will remain when every star has burned out?Krauss moves seamlessly from the hard science of the Big Bang and dark energy to existential philosophy, arguing that our cosmic insignificance is precisely what makes life meaningful. Along the way he shares personal stories—mentorship from Nobel laureates, serendipitous discoveries, his friendship with Christopher Hitchens—and explains how curiosity and rigorous science drive human progress.
Conduce Cecilia Rovaretti.
Today I'm joined by bluegrass singer, songwriter and superstar bassist Shelby Means, who this year finally released her debut self-titled solo album, to talk about the classic trailblazing bluegrass album by Alison Krauss & Union Station, ‘So Long So Wrong'. Shelby talks about how Krauss supplanted Emmylou Harris as her dad's favorite singer, not understanding song lyrics as a kid, discovering the Beatles through bluegrass, the changing lineups of Union Station, the innovative production of the record, the tension between perfectionism and feel, Shelby's experiences recording with members of Union Station and more.
On this episode of "The Federalist Radio Hour," Lawrence M. Krauss, a theoretical physicist, author, and president of the Origins Project, joins Federalist Senior Elections Correspondent Matt Kittle to discuss the free speech crackdown on scholarship and science and explain why it is dangerous not only to academic freedom, but also to the future of the nation. You can find Krauss' book The War on Science: Thirty-Nine Renowned Scientists and Scholars Speak Out About Current Threats to Free Speech, Open Inquiry, and the Scientific Process here.If you care about combating the corrupt media that continue to inflict devastating damage, please give a gift to help The Federalist do the real journalism America needs.
Savage speaks with renowned theoretical physicist Lawrence Krauss to discuss the current challenges faced by science. Krauss explains how the politicization of science, and the influence of DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) initiatives on academia have eroded higher learning. They also reveal the adverse effects of DEI policies on the merit-based advancement of qualified individuals in scientific fields. Savage shares how he was at the forefront of discrimination of white males in academia. Learn how these woke policies impact free speech, academic integrity, and the future of scientific innovation in the U.S. and globally.
Freddie Sayers interviews renowned physicist and author Lawrence Krauss to explore how culture wars and ideological issues threaten science and his new book The War on Science—an anthology of essays from leading scientific thinkers including Jordan Peterson, Richard Dawkins, and Peter Boghossian, examining how academia and scientific institutions are increasingly under siege from within.Krauss lays out how “woke” ideology, DEI policies, and campus cancel culture are eroding the foundations of open inquiry, with contributors offering alarming insights from across disciplines—from medicine and biology to physics and philosophy. He discusses high-profile incidents like the recent antisemitism scandals at Harvard, arguing they reflect a broader intellectual crisis gripping universities. The conversation then shifts to the political backlash, particularly on the American right. With Donald Trump and other conservative figures now sceptical of academia altogether, Krauss raises concerns that the pendulum may be swinging too far the other way—threatening funding, trust in scientific institutions, and the space for real reform. From ideological capture in the lecture hall to political overreach in Washington, Krauss and Sayers dissect what's driving this war on science, why it matters, and what's at stake if both sides keep escalating. In his conversation with Dr. Ross Ellenhorn LICSW, Ph.D, Paul Krauss MA LPC explores themes central to both Ellenhorn's clinical philosophy and his recent book, Purple Crayons: The Art of Drawing a Life. Ellenhorn, a distinguished psychotherapist, sociologist, and founder of innovative mental health programs, brings an emphasis on reclaiming creativity and curiosity as vital tools for personal transformation and healing. The dialogue delves into how the metaphor of the "purple crayon"—inspired by Harold's imaginative adventures—serves as a call to embrace risk, playfulness, and authenticity in the face of conformity and societal norms. Drawing from Ellenhorn's biographical background and Krauss's pattern of unfiltered interviews on The Intentional Clinician Podcast, their exchange highlights the necessity of empowering individuals to draw their own paths, nurture their innate originality, and challenge the narratives that often hinder true change. Their discussion intertwines psychological insights with practical reflections on how imagination fuels resilience and self-realization. The interview also discusses the current changes and difficulties of American culture as well as the dangers facing the fields of psychotherapy and psychology. Welcome to The Superhumanize Podcast.I'm your host, Ariane Sommer and today, we're not just talking about heart health…We're decoding it.My guest is Dr. Ronald Krauss, one of the most influential voices in cardiovascular research today. A professor of medicine at UCSF and a pioneer in lipidology, Dr. Krauss has reshaped how we understand cholesterol, inflammation, and the subtle particles that move through our blood and, often, determine our fate.In this conversation, we go far beyond the standard cholesterol panel. We explore the deeper nuances like the size and density of LDL particles, the overlooked power of ApoB and Lp(a), and how refined carbohydrates, not saturated fats, may play a much larger role in cardiovascular risk than we've been led to believe. We also enter emerging frontiers:How the gut microbiome shapes the heart, how our genes can guide more precise therapies, and how personalized nutrition may become one of the most powerful tools for prevention in the years to come. This episode is not just for the curious, it's for those who sense there's more to the story of heart disease than numbers on a lab report. It's for those who believe science can be both evidence-based and visionary. And for those of us who know the body carries not just risk, but memory, intelligence, and code.Episode highlights:Why small, dense LDL particles are more dangerous than large onesThe role of ApoB and Lp(a) as underused but powerful heart health indicatorsHow metabolic syndrome and inflammation interconnect with lipid disordersThe surprising truth about saturated fat vs. refined carbsThe promise (and limitations) of personalized nutrition and genomicsHow physical activity and gut health shape lipid metabolismNew frontiers in the fight against dementia linked to cardiovascular functionResources mentioned:Dr. Krauss' Wikipedia page:https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ronald_Krauss_(medical_researcher)Dr. Krauss' professional profiles:https://profiles.ucsf.edu/ronald.krausshttps://amecenter.ucsf.edu/people/ronald-krauss-md
