What we are in Christ and what we have in Him, ought to translate into our being thoughtful and hopeful, obedient and holy, fearful and mindful.
At Redeemer Presbyterian Church in Charleston, SC, our senior pastor Rev. Craig Bailey preached in our First Peter sermon series, focusing on how we're to conduct ourselves with fear throughout our time as exiles.
Sometimes, if we are honest with ourselves, we might question somebody's motives. We wonder why they are doing what they are. Surely, they must want something or must have an angle that we are simply not aware of. However, wondering about someone's motives isn't always a negative thing. In fact, as Christians, the people around us should wonder about us. They should wonder why we are living the way we are. They should ask us why we do things the way we do. We want them to know our motivation. Because the fact of the matter is, we should be living the way that we do because of who Jesus is and because of the fact that He died for us on the cross. This week, as we celebrate Resurrection Sunday, we learn from God's Word what redemption truly means and how it should affect our everyday living so that people wonder about our motive to live a life that is holy and set apart.

In the is sermon Pastor Keith explains how; God has redeemed His people and given them a bright future full of hope. So He calls them to live in such a way that reflects that redemption and hope. The Apostle Peter calls suffering Christians to new way of life. He exhorted them to live in hope, live in holiness, live in the fear of the Lord and live in love because they have been born again and have a new identity. * This sermon was recorded at the chapel service at Dallas Life Foundation.

How do we bend like palm trees under the weight of life's storms and suffering?
Spring Cypress Presbyterian Church is a body of believers, called by the Holy Spirit, transformed by the Gospel to enjoy and glorify God as we proclaim the Good News of salvation through Jesus Christ.
This week we find a call to not just know the truth, but be moved by it to act! Listen as pastor Blair shares what this looks like from Peter chapter one.
Our heart's passion and greatest joy is to make visible the invisible kingdom of Jesus Christ as we seek to bring the transformational power of the good news about His Kingdom to El Paso, the Southwest and wherever our influence may extend.
Part 6 in the series on 1 Peter. Living in the last days according to Peter.
“I don’t smoke, and I don’t chew, and I don’t go with girls who do.” is not where Christians are to find their identity! If what we do determines who we are, we may well be a Pharisee! In Christ Jesus, there is a much better way! 1) prepare the mind; 2) shaping your heart; 3) what undergirds hope / holiness
Our final message in a months-long sermon series on Vision. We review and discuss 1 Peter 1:13-21 and the idea that our hope in Christ should produce in us a holiness of life…not because we are following God from a legalistic view but because the love of God and the judgement of God and the hope we have in Christ will literally change how we choose to live our lives. A fantastic message that is extremely relevant to the world we live in today and the challenges that all believers face to be conformed to the world.
Pastor Russ Miller continues teaching the sermon series 1 Peter: Suffering, Sanctification and Service.

Jesus' encounters with people weren’t about him and communicating his purpose; they were about the people he was encountering. These people were the living embodiment of his purpose. Whenever he entered into a conversation with someone he just met, he did so with one motive: to identify their agenda, and meet them in it with Spirit-powered love. He never used his words to mask a hidden motive because he didn’t have one. Instead, he was a servant listening to identify and understand the need of the person so he could meet it. Jesus talked with people without personal agenda. He was sincere, and those who encountered him remarked on his ‘authority,’ his command of the situation, his substantiality. They found him intriguing, refreshing, irresistible . . . authentic. He stood apart.
