Meanwhile, the Eye of Sion arrives on Peridea, the ancient homeworld of Elsbeth's people known as the Dathomiri. Elsbeth, Skoll, Hati, and Wren meet the Great Mothers, a group of Nightsisters allied with Thrawn. As they wait for the Grand Admiral's arrival, Skoll relates to Hati his belief that the fall of the Jedi and the rise of the Empire were part of an inevitable cycle, one he intends to break. Thrawn arrives with his Star Destroyer, the Chimaera, and honors Skoll's promise by providing Wren with provisions, a Howler mount, and the latest intelligence on Bridger's whereabouts. After Wren leaves, Thrawn orders Skoll and Hati to follow her at their own pace so they can kill both her and Bridger. Surviving an ambush by bandits, Wren encounters the native Noti and follows them to their village where she reunites with Bridger. While tracking Wren, Skoll senses that there is a greater power on Peridea and tells Hati that he intends to find and use it. Anticipating Ahsoka coming with the Purrgil, Thrawn demands all the details of her history from Elsbeth and orders her to kill any arriving Purrgil. Infamous Shirts for Naked Bodies... A show on priorities? Seriously? Why is that important? Russ talks about self-confidence, self-control, self-discipline and what all of that has to do with priorities. Coming from a guy who’s not the most self disciplined person, what does this have to do with compulsive sexual behavior? And Russ Intersects with another beautifully delicious post from a fapstronaut. By the way, check out NoFap on Reddit. Or go to nofap.com If you do not know what an fapstronaut is.

Seriously you will be motivated and educated at the end of this show!!
Well you just listened to one of our first ON THE STREET interviews. We mentioned that would be part of our shows going forward. We’ve mostly done pre-arranged interviews…. These are with experts in some field or someone with a story to tell that has to do with…. Later in the show we’ll speak to a couple of random millennials hanging out at the mall about marriage, God and Mother’s Day. But first… Random thoughts and news for the week. News that impacts Families. What I do when I don’t have a scheduled interview - I go out and interview random people - Check out the show notes – pic of me with my interview gear on. - Several weeks ago I spoke to some folks about motherhood on Mother’s day and we got into what makes a great marriage. (insert Mothers Day Interview #1) Commenting on second interview – talking about marriage – 1. Commitment vs Feelings 2. Love is not a feeling – it’s an action – a. Scripture – 1 Corinthians 13 b. http://biblehub.com/niv/1_corinthians/13.htm 3. Lots of folks lose their marriage. And give up on it. Because the feeling is gone. 4. That feeling can come back. Large parts of our society are having problems because they are ruled by feelings. a. Drug addicts – ruled by feelings. b. Depressed? Have a pill – instead of dealing with your feelings we introduce you to the culture of drugs c. Bipolar? Mood swings – d. Narcissist – selfishness e. These are all sin issues. 5. The best title for a marriage book ever is Dave Harvey’s – When Sinners say I do. It’s a very good book. I think my favorite is Timothy Keller’s Marriage book but that’s mostly because I listen to his podcast a lot. Anyway – The Title is so good because it eliminates the false assumption that you’ve married the perfect person. You’ve married another person that struggles with sin just like you do. 6. I went to lots of marriage counseling and seminars and for the longest time I struggled with trying to fix me. I always wanted to fix my wife but that’s impossible. WE have to fix ourselves, humble ourselves. A lot of times we don’t want to deal with that. 7. I do have to say I keep meeting incredibly mature Christians in this Family Court Reform movement and I think a lot of them have been matured by the experience of family strife. 8. They have been matured by the refiner’s fire. a. Isaiah 48:10 ESV Behold, I have refined you, but not as silver; I have tried you in the furnace of affliction. b. Proverbs 17:3 ESV The crucible is for silver, and the furnace is for gold, and the LORD tests hearts. Talking to my buddy Jay the weekend about Jesus. Every stupid thing we do in this country is because we try to figure things out while we leave out the most important variable there is. Our creator. Seriously – Why do we have so many problems? Did you ever do algebra? If you want to figure out a + b = c its easy if you know two of the three variables. If you only know one its impossible. You can guess and you’ll come out correct, sometimes. In part 8 of our series on “The Three Outposts” (three estates), Pr. Joe Abrahamson gives us the Scriptural teaching on God’s gift of, yes, government. How can government be more than a “necessary evil,” as Thomas Paine said? Is government really a gift from God? (The tax-man too? Seriously?) Why is government necessary, and … Continue reading The Three Outposts, part 8 – The State →
First we get kicked out of Barnes & Noble because they close. Seriously? Why can't they be 24 hours? Don't they know we need to podcast? And then we go to the patio of their Starbucks and face the two foot tall beetles that wanted to see what we were up to, the 40 mile per hour winds that required we HOLD our laptops and the daisy chaining of surge protectors (yes, we each carry our own) to be able to reach a table. THEN they have to chain down the tables and chairs. With us in them. We move a car next to the building and feed the cables through the open window and sit inside to podcast in as wind-free an environment we can muster. Then we get so overly exhausted we can stop laughing at all of the shirts in the "funny" section of Cafe Press. Until it's after 1am and we finally attempt to go our separate ways only to find out that we've run down the battery and have to use one vehicle to jump the other. See?? See what we go through for YOU, our worthy listeners?!
