For our 100th episode (shit!!), Shawn discusses the origin of the sun and the moon, along with the origins of night and day in Norse Mythology, as told by Gylfaginning in Snorri Sturluson's Prose Edda. (Also with some stanzas from the Poetic Edda poems, Völuspá and Vafþrúðnismál.In it Shawn also explores the idea of looking to the divine when humans cannot currently explain something, and compares humans of 10,000 looking with a sense of wonder when looking at the sun and the moon, with humans today asking ourselves what happened before the universe started expanding, and what happens after we die. Also somewhat of an error --> Shawn expresses some confusion on the different wolves chasing the sun and the moon. From my understanding (which isn't smoothly discussed in this episode) is that Fenrir may be the same wolf as Skoll, and Garm may be the same wolf as Hati.Ways to support us:If you have been enjoying our show, please write a 5 star review on itunes to help spread our podcast to a wider audience:https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/between-two-ravens-a-norse-mythology-podcast/id1604263830Buy Shawn a Beer or Coffee: https://ko-fi.com/tworavenpodcastFollow us or leave a message on Instagram:Instagram: (@BetweenTwoRavens): https://www.instagram.com/betweentworavens/Check out David's writing: Prosoche Project (www.prosocheproject.com).Walled Garden (https://thewalledgarden.com/davidalexander)Our podcast is part of The Walled Garden Podcast Network. Re-Watch Podcast Ahsoka Part vi Far, Far Away As I write this I am re-watching part VI of Ahsoka. Upon further reflection, I realize we recorded the wrong episode first. The last episode published for Ahsoka were parts III and IV. Sydney and I just recorded part VI for some reason. Needless to say, we'll have to record another episode in the not too distant future or I can delay posting this one until a few days after the next one is published. I forgot to take notes and cannot remember the exact order of events. Whether I remember all of it or not, it was still a very good episode. You'll hear which part as I'm sure it was favorite part of the episode as well. I think for the most part we followed the events of the episode as they occurred. It's interesting to see when Morgan, and her goons arrive at the Night Sister temple, the great mothers are waiting for her at yet another star map. I wonder if the maps are an important part of Dathomiri culture or just a macguffin for plot convenience. We briefly touch on the motivations of Baylan Skoll. We know he survived the purges of Order 66. However, there is no love lost between him, the Old Republic, the Jedi Order, nor the Empire. While he does mention to Shin he's trying to break the cycle of history, it begs the question why try to help the Imperial Remnant? Didn't the empire just lose the war? Yes, Thrawn is their best hope for having any effect on the New Republic strained as they may be. Very curious to see how Skoll's story plays out. Same goes for his apprentice. Will she follow her master to end or forge her own path? Give this episode a listen and let us know what your thoughts are. I thought it was really good. The theories behind Baylon Skoll and what is calling him are very mysterious and intriguing. It's also arguably the most interesting story arc and character to come out of Ahsoka, maybe even Star Wars in the last few years. What is calling him and what could it mean for the Star Wars Mando-verse that Filoni is cooking up. Rest in piece Ray Stevenson.
The end of Ahsoka Season 1 left us with several cliffhangers, one of which is Baylan Skoll standing atop a statue staring at a mountain in the distance. This begs the question: What is he looking for? Those who have watched either The Clone Wars or Rebels will immediately recognize the statue as the Father, one of the Mortis Gods, a family of extremely powerful Force-users. What do they have to do with Baylan's quest? Join me as I share a few thoughts. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/pageturnerstheywerenot/message

Take the lightsabers Darryl: 2.11/5 Brian: 2.11/5 Title: "Part Seven: Dreams and Madness" Directed by: Dave Filoni Written by: Geeta Vasant Patel Aired: September 26, 2023 Summary: On Coruscant, Syndulla faces a disciplinary hearing, with tribunal member Senator Xiono objecting to her reports of the secret Imperial Remnant conspiracy. Arriving at Peridea, the Purrgils run into a minefield left by Thrawn's forces and retreat. Continuing alone, Ahsoka and Huyang are attacked by enemy fighters and hide in a debris field, compelling the Grand Admiral to adopt a more calculated approach. Ahsoka locates Wren through the Force and heads to the planet's surface. Bridger, Wren, and the Noti are attacked by Hati, the bandits Wren had previously encountered, and Thrawn's Night Troopers, while Skoll leaves to pursue his own agenda. Bridger refuses to use a weapon, instead relying on the Force to fight. Ahsoka's intervention forces Thrawn to withdraw his remaining Night Troopers and prepare for his imminent departure. Ahsoka invites Hati, who has been left behind, to join them, but Hati instead runs away. Ahsoka, Bridger, and Wren then joyously reconnect. Infamous Shirts for Naked Bodies... I believe the SON is trying to reach out to Baylan Skoll. I think it would be wild if Peridia was a gateway to MORTIS from the clone wars. Meanwhile, the Eye of Sion arrives on Peridea, the ancient homeworld of Elsbeth's people known as the Dathomiri. Elsbeth, Skoll, Hati, and Wren meet the Great Mothers, a group of Nightsisters allied with Thrawn. As they wait for the Grand Admiral's arrival, Skoll relates to Hati his belief that the fall of the Jedi and the rise of the Empire were part of an inevitable cycle, one he intends to break. Thrawn arrives with his Star Destroyer, the Chimaera, and honors Skoll's promise by providing Wren with provisions, a Howler mount, and the latest intelligence on Bridger's whereabouts. After Wren leaves, Thrawn orders Skoll and Hati to follow her at their own pace so they can kill both her and Bridger. Surviving an ambush by bandits, Wren encounters the native Noti and follows them to their village where she reunites with Bridger. While tracking Wren, Skoll senses that there is a greater power on Peridea and tells Hati that he intends to find and use it. Anticipating Ahsoka coming with the Purrgil, Thrawn demands all the details of her history from Elsbeth and orders her to kill any arriving Purrgil. Infamous Shirts for Naked Bodies... My one and only frustration with Star Wars Ashoka is the lack of any information about Baylan Skoll. I want to know more but the show has other ideas. Whatever, it's still a fun show to talk about it with Russ, Adam and Nathan. --Nathan

After Thrawn's location is revealed, Skoll destroys the map and boards the Eye of Sion with Hati and Wren as their prisoner. A squadron of New Republic fighters, led by Syndulla, arrives at Seatos and tries to stop the freighter from jumping into hyperspace, but fails to do so. Shout out to the creators of Ahsoka Tano. This show is everything I was hoping it would be. Episode 4 is so far the best they've done with these characters so far. The tag line from Baylan Skoll "One must destroy in order to create," anchors the sentiment of this show, and of life. Amazing!! Check out Shane Gillis on Netflix. Welcome to another riveting episode of FATHER.SON.GALAXY. In this installment, we delve into the heart of "Ahsoka Episode Three: Time to Fly." Ahsoka and Sabine's training takes center stage, as the classic visor and the wisdom of "trust your instincts" guide them on their journey.Hera enters the political arena, contacting the Senate for mission approval. However, her interactions with the senators reveal a deeper conflict, with Mon Mothma appearing to delegate the responsibility. Hera's poignant question, "Did you ever fight in the war?" echoes in the chamber.Sabine's attempt to harness the Force unfolds, resulting in failure. Hera, unable to approve the mission, leaves Ahsoka, Sabine, and Huyang to chart their own course. Meanwhile, Shin, Marrok, and a fleet deploy to stop our heroes, but they prove unstoppable.Ahsoka's spacewalk, reminiscent of Leia Organa's iconic moment, becomes a pivotal part of the action.Next, we ponder the question of who is qualified to train in the ways of the Force. The Force resides in all living things, as Kanan and Ahsoka have taught us, but hereditary force sensitivity may not guarantee strength. With no other Force sensibilities in her family, Sabine's path to Jedi training is a unique one.Huyang, the voice of reason, steps in to train Sabine in various forms, mirroring Kanan's training of Sabine with the Darksaber. Is Sabine perhaps the most challenging Jedi trainee? Ahsoka's response, "It does not matter," invites us to consider the Jedi standards and their limitations.Jacen Syndulla's desire to become a Jedi is explored, rooted in his father Kanan Jarrus's strong Force sensitivity. Yet, Hera, his mother, remains hesitant. Our discussion then turns to the Senate, featuring Chancellor Mothma and Senator Xiono. The Senate Committee's rejection of the idea to allocate resources in the search for Thrawn highlights the political challenges faced by the New Republic and the Resistance. As our heroes inch closer to their destination, we encounter a hyperspace ring in construction, potentially capable of galactic exploration. Ahsoka's ship faces destruction but is quickly repaired, and a daring spacewalk ensues. The enigmatic Purrgils make a striking appearance, adding to the intrigue. The episode concludes with Ahsoka's ship landing on an unknown planet, where Skoll and his team prepare to track them down.OUR SOCIALS:We are featured on STARWARS.com! In the Ahsoka show, Baylan Skoll is the dark Jedi who wields the orange lightsaber. I believe he is conflicted and will not be able to defeat Ahsoka based on his good will and former allegiance to the Jedi before Order 66 and Darth Vader. I think he will sacrifice himself for Ahsoka or maybe even Shin Hati, and then be eliminated by Thrawn or someone more powerful. Somewhere, Dickey (David Cross) visits a friend, Lonnie (Kevin Anderson), hiring him to take back the painting that Mansell (Boyd Holbrook) took from his house. Mansell and Sweety (Vondie Curtis-Hall) meet at a parking garage with another person in the book. However, the man only has $12,000 instead of the $15,000 they asked. When Mansell rams his car, the man flees and accidentally falls off the building to his death. Raylan talks to Downey (Marin Ireland) about getting to know about the book, with Downey correctly deducing he slept with Carolyn. They meet with prosecutor Diane (Regina Taylor), blackmailing her into working with them. As her name is in the book, she will be part of a trap set for Mansell and Sweety, or she will be exposed for taking bribes. Lonnie arrives at Sweety's Tavern, forcing Sweety to leave Mansell's penthouse to meet him. Their meeting is interrupted when Sweety is called by Diane, who offers $30,000 to get her name removed from the book, agreeing to meet later. Sweety also gives up Mansell's name to Lonnie, instructing him that Mansell must be killed while Sweety himself gets the painting for him. Sweety is also revealed to be taking care of a young Carolyn, after promising her dying father to do so. He takes her to a dilapidated bar, planning to reconstruct it and turn it into a new tavern for him. In the present day, Carolyn (Aunjanue Ellis) sees an ambulance take Sweety's body away from the destroyed tavern. She and Raylan (Timothy Olyphant) visit a grieving Trennell (Joseph Anthony Byrd), who confesses to having taken Sweety's gun off the jukebox. Raylan then visits Sandy (Adelaide Clemens), who refuses to testify against Mansell (Boyd Holbrook). However, she is shocked when Raylan informs her that they found the gun that Mansell used to kill the Judge, Rose, and Sweety, with Sandy unaware of the latter's death. Sandy decides to visit Skender (Alexander Pobutsky) at the hospital to reconcile, but panics once he calls her "a dead woman." Carolyn arrives home to find Mansell waiting for her. He starts talking about his childhood in Oklahoma, partly about how his mother had sex with many men from the Glenn Pool Oil Reserve. Angry, he waited until a man left and killed his mother. He also points out that his story may be false, suggesting his mother actually died in a tornado. She threatens to back off as her lawyer, but he holds her at gunpoint. The following day, Raylan finds that Downey (Marin Ireland) is actually in Mansell's book, which explains why she allowed him to go. In this episode, Anab shared great insights on Design for futures; we started the episode by defining design for the futures and what is the design process when working on a project focused on the future. Then we discussed navigating that uncertainty in work and how designers can balance the need for innovation and creativity with practicality and functionality in their designs. Later, we discussed why ethical considerations are critical when designing for the future and how do designers ensure their work is inclusive and representative of different perspectives and experiences.
