In this episode, I compared me running two miles to your sex life lol. There are distractions, discomforts, doubts, etc. But when you focus on being present with what you want to experience (over and over again), you can quiet the noise. What if you're not missing the 'technique' to have great sex. What if you just don't have enough practice?  This is the exact reason why I created Ronan for you. To help you train your mind and arousal so you can have great sex!And I also have a favor to ask of you... Would you please leave Ronan a review (even a star rating would be super helpful and takes 2 seconds!) This would help Ronan get out there to more men who it can help. Thank you so much!!

You likely see this controversial tool as a novelty, but it is actually a legitimate medical workout for your health.Without regular blood flow and exercise, sensitive tissue can weaken, lose elasticity, and even shrink over time. In this episode, you will discover the clinical science behind the penis pump and why it serves as essential gym equipment for erectile function. You will also learn how proper usage can stimulate blood flow, prevent scar tissue, and improve size.Hit play now to uncover the exact protocols you need to optimize your performance and protect your long-term vitality.--------------Key TakeawaysAn FDA-approved penis pump functions as gym equipment to train and strengthen erectile tissue.Inactivity and a lack of regular blood flow cause penile muscle shrinkage and stiff scar tissue.Daily pumping protocols boost nitric oxide, improve nerve conduction, and treat erectile dysfunction.Consistent usage can safely add up to an inch in both length and girth over time.Dedicated schedules vary from twice daily for ED rehabilitation to three times weekly for general maintenance.Generous lubrication on both the shaft and the cylinder base ensures an airtight, safe seal.Pressing the cylinder firmly against the pubic bone creates proper vacuum suction.Pulling the scrotum downward prevents the testicles from getting drawn into the cylinder during use.A slow pumping pace should never exceed 10 mmHg on the pressure gauge.Minor initial discomfort is normal and improves quickly with consistent practice.--------------Resources mentioned:Modern Man CribMediterranean DietGood Morning Wood SmoothieRenew with Dr. Anne--------------Curious about how you can boost your bedroom game and build lasting confidence? Dr Arthur Burnett has spent forty years trying to tell them otherwise, and for most of those years he has been shouting into the wind.In this episode I'm joined by Dr Arthur Burnett, a urologist at Johns Hopkins, where he has worked for more than four decades. His laboratory did the discovery work in the late 1980s that made the blue pills possible. So I opened by asking him whether he regrets what men have done with them since. Two of the men I loved died. Both of them started here, and I read it as age. One had diabetes and told me flatly that the pill wasn't working, and I believed him. Dr Burnett listened to that story and told me what had been going on inside that man's body while I was busy blaming the wrong thing entirely. He is just as blunt about his own profession. He has watched surgeons treat the cancer and skip the man, and he does not exempt himself from it.There is no shame in this conversation and no bravado either. If your erections have changed and you have been waiting quietly for them to sort themselves out, this is the episode that tells you what you are actually waiting on.Listen, learn and enjoy.Key Takeaways- The oral medications release the brakes on an erection. They cannot start one. Arousal has to be driven from the brain and the body first, which is why a man can take the pill, feel nothing, and wrongly conclude he is finished.- Dr Burnett would call it penile vascular dysfunction. An erection runs on blood vessels, nerves and hormones, the same system that runs the heart, and it usually falters before anything else does.- His lab found the same nitric oxide response in clitoral tissue. The mechanics are close to identical, but female arousal involves hormones and other factors, so one pill was never going to be the answer.- Diabetes damages nerve and blood vessel tissue and behaves in the body almost like premature ageing. These men need more stimulus to drive the response, and the drugs work measurably less well for them.- The online questionnaire skips the health workup. Erectile dysfunction should send a man for a full check, and Dr Burnett calls home delivery without a clinician an unfortunate development in his field.- Nerve sparing surgery lifted recovery rates above zero. Surgeons now map the nerve pathways during the operation, man by man, though the results are still not where he wants them.- He has little faith in nitric oxide supplements and has found his own name on products he knew nothing about. His position comes from society guidelines rather than his own opinion.- Sleep, weight, smoking, movement, stress, cardiovascular health, checkups. He will not be asked for a miracle by a man smoking three packs a day, and says this layer comesAbout the GuestArthur L. “Bud” Burnett II, MD, MBA, FACS, is a globally recognized Johns Hopkins urologist, researcher, Viagra Pioneer, and educator whose pioneering work in men's health and erectile function has transformed care worldwide.About SuzanneSuzanne Noble is a sex and relationship expert, author, and host of the Sex Advice for Seniors podcast, one of the top-rated shows empowering people 50+ to embrace confident, joyful intimacy. Episode Overview:  Steve Fisher is 77 years old, lives in Nebraska, and has been through more than most men can imagine. In 2020, he and his wife were both diagnosed with cancer at the same time. Her lung cancer surgery was followed by a catastrophic complication, and Steve lost her in late 2020, while still carrying his own prostate cancer diagnosis.  In the first half of 2021, Steve went ahead with treatment: low-dose brachytherapy (permanent seed implants) followed by 20 sessions of external beam radiation, plus a short course of Lupron (a prescription hormonal therapy). His PSA is now sitting at 0.04. Cancer-wise, things are excellent.  But nobody told Steve what was coming next. No one talked to him about erectile dysfunction, penile rehabilitation, vacuum pumps, constriction rings, or the emotional weight of losing sexual function on top of losing a partner. He navigated that on his own, with little support from his healthcare team.  Then in May 2026, Steve stumbled across Victoria Cullen's website A Touchy Subject on YouTube, joined The Hub, and things started to shift. He ordered daily Cialis and a Soma OT medical-grade vacuum pump — the right equipment, with the right information about how constriction rings work in combination with a pump. Within two months, Steve and Carol were having penetrative sex again for the first time in years.  This episode is also about the emotional and psychological side of this journey — the anxiety men carry silently, the male ego dimension of losing erectile function, and the importance of community, peer support, and simply having someone to talk to who understands.  This is a warm, funny, honest, and genuinely hopeful conversation about grief, finding love again, getting information too late, and what happens when a man finally gets the right tools and the right support.   Golden Tip: How to use the pumps with a constriction ring successfully, including Steve's tip about lubricant on the outside of the cylinder.     In This Episode, We Cover  Options when PDE5i (Viagra etc) don't work   The difference between medical-grade vacuum pumps and sex toys   Why injections (Trimix) failed for Steve and what was missing from the picture  Constriction rings: the information that changed everything- Golden Tip even Melissa learnt something new!  Finding love again in later life and navigating intimacy with a new partner  The mental and emotional toll of erectile dysfunction, the side no one talks about enough  Victoria Cullen's community The Hub, and why peer support matters  Steve's new YouTube channel: Everyday Prostate Cancer Warrior   Key Message from Steve  Steve's closing message is about the emotional and mental burden men carry through this. Cancer treatment gets you through the door. But the anxiety, the silence, the feeling that you should just be grateful you're alive that stays with men for years. Steve wants other men to know it is acceptable to talk about it, to seek support, and to keep going. He had almost given up entirely. Finding the right community, the right information, and the right equipment changed everything.    Resources & Links  The Hub – Victoria Cullen's online community for men navigating prostate cancer recovery and intimacy: A Touchy Subject / The Hub  Steve's YouTube channel – personal stories and practical experience from a prostate cancer survivor: Everyday Prostate Cancer Warrior on YouTube  Book a telehealth appointment with our sexual health nurse practitioners at Restorative Health Clinic  For more information check out our websites www.rshealth.com.au , www.makehardeasy.com.au and www.melissahadleybarrett.com.au   Steve Fisher YouTube link to his Everyday Prostate Cancer Warrior. https://youtu.be/APLm1W8uPBA?si=SfaA9A74GqMNcvUq  Click here to shop the Sompatherapy Pumps: The Touch II Automatic Pump, and the Response II Manual Pump  Click here to watch Melissa's YouTube video: Most Men Use the SOMA VED Wrong | Here's the Correct Way    Book a telehealth consultation with our sexual health nurse practitioners:  Restorative Health Clinic    For more information visit our websites:  www.rshealth.com.au  www.makehardeasy.com.au  www.melissahadleybarrett.com    Need Support?  At Restorative Health Clinic, we support men and their partners with:  Penile rehabilitation after prostate cancer treatment  Erectile dysfunction  Vacuum pump and constriction ring education and prescription  Penile injection therapy  Intimacy and sexual recovery  Partner-inclusive support where appropriate  Practical, evidence-based strategies for rebuilding confidence and function    We offer telehealth consultations Australia-wide and internationally, making it easier for men to access experienced, compassionate support no matter where they live. If this is your first time meeting her, buckle up, because she is about to change how you think about every man in your life. In this episode, Leah Piper and Dr. Willow Brown sit down with Alison for a raw, funny, and genuinely eye opening conversation about why so many men quietly give up on sex as they get older, and it has almost nothing to do with wanting you less.EPISODE HIGHLIGHTSMen often quit sex due to shame after erectile dysfunction, not because their desire for their partner has faded.Shame is worse than emasculation because it disconnects a man from his own spirit, while emasculation only affects his sense of productivity.Sexual feedback lands best as gentle, judgment free clues rather than direct criticism, what Alison calls the warmer, colder, hot approach. Many men experience direct questions as interrogation, so framing feedback as an invitation, like asking permission to share favorite moments, respects their need for productivity and control.Alison's new concept, the ever presence of death, reveals how men's quiet awareness of mortality shapes their drive for purpose, protection, and honor in relationships.LINKS & RESOURCES MENTIONED IN THE EPISODE CAN BE FOUND ON THE WEBSITE: http://sexreimagined.com/alison-armstrong-why-men-stop-having-sex Erotic Polarity Online Masterclass - Join us July 29th for a live masterclass on zoom. Welcome back to the Schauer Thoughts, this week we're going to be a real pain in the behind to some massive corporations and *of course* the government - they have TRULY deserved this.  For too long the healthcare system has proposed a “pull yourself up by your bootstraps” approach to health and wellness, but I ask y'all this, if it doesn't work for the economy, why would it work for your health? Is that to say that we should all give up completely and stop taking care of ourselves? No. However, I am saying that we need to cut ourselves, everyone, neighbors, friends, etc. A LOT of slack. We are living in a polluted, corrupt hellscape and there's only so much one can do to fight constant, all-consuming, non-consensual toxins.  Eat what you want, be who you want, stick it to the man, have some semblance of fun. Most people give up too easily and the people around you, the Reddit threads venting, the "this is just normal" advice from doctors and therapists, are actually reinforcing the belief that you're stuck (when you are not!). In this episode, I break down why so much performance anxiety, ED, PE, and delayed ejaculation comes down to one thing: a lack of self-trust.I share the moment climbing Mount Shasta that taught me what trust actually means, how I let go of "I'm an anxious person" as an identity, and why the language you use with yourself is either working for you or against you. You'll hear real client stories, plus the mindset shift that changes everything: you trained yourself into anxiety, which means you can train yourself into trust. If you're tired of being in your head, outsourcing your power, and letting the "What-if" thoughts control your sex life, this one's for you!Ronan App is now live on the App Store. Brooke Bralove has been doing talk therapy for over twenty years. She's good at it. And she will tell you, clearly and without hesitation, that there are things talk therapy simply cannot do. That's where Accelerated Resolution Therapy comes in. ART is a brief, neuroscience-based treatment modality that uses rapid eye movement, similar to what happens during REM sleep combined with a technique called voluntary image replacement, to rewire the way the brain stores negative memories, traumatic experiences, and the body sensations that accompany them. The process is fast. Often remarkably so. Single-incident trauma: rarely more than two sessions. Sometimes one. In this episode, Dr. Jenni Skyler and Daniel Lebowitz sit down with Brooke to explore one of the most underused and under-discussed tools in sexual health. They walk through how ART works, the eye movements, the desensitization, the director scene, and the brain's extraordinary capacity to store a new narrative without ever erasing the facts of what actually happened. They share clinical stories: a man whose erectile dysfunction resolved after clearing a decade-old stabbing trauma he'd never connected to his sexual functioning. A woman with six years of pelvic pain who immediately surfaced a childhood memory of being beaten- a memory that had nothing to do with sex and everything to do with the body's guarding response. A woman who hadn't been intimate with her husband in six years, whose desire returned after a single session of releasing the accumulated irritation that had been sitting in its place. And then Jenni shares something she's never shared publicly before. The personal session she did with Brooke at ISSWSH. The image that had been jumping into her brain during foreplay since she was twelve. What the eye movements revealed about a memory she thought was something it wasn't. And the director scene she created, spontaneously, without planning, that left her, in her own words, feeling more alive in her body and her Eros than she had in years. Daniel brings the evolutionary lens: why predators look around while prey looks forward, what perspective actually does to the nervous system, and the Japanese concept of Kintsugi (filling cracks with gold) as a metaphor for what ART does to a memory. Brooke talks about using eye movements before presentations, during chronic pain, and in moments of anticipatory anxiety. And she makes a quietly radical suggestion: that art as a daily self-administered practice might be one of the most accessible nervous system tools available to anyone willing to look at two spots on a wall for thirty seconds. The motto of ART is simple. Keep the knowledge, lose the pain. This episode is the best possible introduction to what that means. https://brookebralove.com/accelerated-resolution-therapy/ https://brookebralove.com/ https://www.instagram.com/brookebralovepsychotherapy/ See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Nitric Oxide Explained: Vascular Health, Exercise Performance, and N1o1 with Dr. Nathan Bryan, international Leader in Molecular Medicine, the first to describe nitrite and nitrate as indispensable nutrients required for optimal cardiovascular health. He details NO as a ubiquitous messenger affecting blood flow, erectile function, cognition, exercise performance, endothelial dysfunction, and aging-related declines in NO production. Bryan explains why PDE5 inhibitors like Viagra prolong cyclic GMP signaling but don't fix NO deficiency, and why beet products often fail due to variable nitrate content and inadequate dosing. He outlines his NO lozenge approach that generates NO gas from sodium nitrite and magnesium ascorbate, plus a fermented beet powder drink (NOBeets), and emphasizes the role of oral bacteria (and harms of antiseptic mouthwash/fluoride) in nitrate conversion. They review published endpoints, including flow-mediated dilation, blood pressure effects, inflammation markers, triglycerides, stem cells, plaque regression, applications to Alzheimer's, glaucoma/microvascular disease, safety/dosing considerations, risks of arginine supplementation, and a dual-chamber topical NO serum developed from wound-healing experience.

If Part 1 was about the field of sexual medicine, Part 2 is about the marriage at the center of it. Dr. Jenni Skyler and Daniel Lebowitz return to their conversation with Dr. Irwin and Sue Goldstein, and this time, the questions get more personal. How do you stay married for fifty years? What does great sex actually look like across the decades? And what happens when a woman who has spent her career in sexual medicine starts experiencing low desire herself? Sue Goldstein opens up about her own journey through peri-menopause and the slow erosion of her libido- what she calls "duty sex", and the medications that brought not just her sex drive back, but a playfulness in her marriage she hadn't realized had gone missing. She walks listeners through her menopause toolbox of five treatments, explains why she's "76 and feels like she's in her 50s", and dismantles the lingering fears from the Women's Health Initiative that have kept generations of women in what she calls hormone prison. Dr. Irwin shares his own daily protocols for sexual health, why he believes most older men are leaving capacity on the table, and the surprising data from their own clinic- that more than half the Vyleesi prescriptions they write are off-label for men. They explore why dopamine is dopamine, regardless of gender. The reality of persistent genital arousal disorder. And a remarkable story of a teenage horseback rider whose chronic arousal turned out to be a herniated disc. This episode is full of practical wisdom, clinical innovation, and one of the most real conversations about long-term love you'll hear all year. The Goldsteins' secret to fifty years of marriage? Best friends, good sex, and the willingness to keep trying new things — including a chocolate sauce on the day before you change the sheets. Irwin Goldstein, MD, IF (he/him/his). Speaking up matters: ED is frequently an early sign of underlying health conditions. In this episode, board-certified urologist Ashley Winter, MD, explains what’s happening in the body, how lifestyle factors influence ED, and the full range of treatment options. Your body isn't “broken” if it can respond in private but shuts down with a real partner. That pattern can be a LOUD clue that you're dealing with PED/psychological erectile dysfunction, where anxiety, attention, and conditioning override what your body can physically do. I dig into the mind body disconnect that shows up as weak erections, fast finishes, numb sensation, or that awful moment when you finally have time together and nothing works. I will get pointed and specific about what trains the problem: porn and compulsive masturbation that turn sex into a quick, lonely hit. When arousal is built on scrolling, novelty, and a tight grip, real intimacy can feel slower, harder to access, and less “perfect” than fantasy. That's when performance anxiety spikes and your brain starts demanding more extreme stimulation just to show up. I also challenge the easy blame game in relationships and talk about what actually increases desire in long term partnerships: effort, shared labour, and treating your partner like someone you want, not someone you manage life with. Treat your body like a cherished sports car and see what happens!* TIP ME ON THE PODCAST.  IT'S EASY! Try to connect with your local BDSM community. Thank you for joining us for our 2nd Cabral HouseCall of the weekend!   I'm looking forward to sharing with you some of our community's questions that have come in over the past few weeks…   Sarah: Hey doc! Ive been regularly gua sha'ing my face and I noticed that my face feels 'crunchy' especially at my jawline and at my lymph nodes by my ear. It doesnt seem to be improving despite regular use, is this normal or anything to be concerned? I feel it more in my left side which I seem to get more breakouts on my cheek/jawline/neck. Thank you!      Margie: I just read all your cancer information because of a recent diagnosis. I have a Naturopathic doctor in addition to conventional oncologist. I'm curious your take on Esaic tea and or soursop? I told not to take it during treatment because it's a detox and we want the targeted chemo and immunotherapy to work… this is from my ND, however, research on both suggest otherwise. I'm very curious your thoughts. Thank you!      Alicja: Hello Dr.Cabral, I recently run by blood work and urine test. I have pretty good results from my blood work (except high cholesterol) but I am concern about results from my urine test. It shows I have trace amount of blood in my urine and also albumin in my urine was detected (slightly above the optimal cut-off) My urine albumin is 0.3 mg/dL What can I do about this? Does that indicate early kidney damage? (BTW test was done on day 16th of my cycle) Thank you for answering my question. I appreciate all you do.      Tyler: I'm a 37 year old male and I was diagnosed with a pilocytic astrocytoma brain tumor in my hypothalamus in December 2022. It was a benign tumor the size of a large egg, and I had a 15 hour surgery to remove 90% of it. 3 years later, I still have erectile dysfunction and low libido. Why is that and what can I do to fix it? I'm on Clomid for my testosterone, which is now around 500. I was on testosterone gel for a couple months but quit because of sperm impact. I test my sodium level every other week because it was low at times after my surgeries. I have a programmable shunt to help drain CSF. I don't have morning erections. Could this be from damage during the brain surgeries? Is it hormonal-related even though I'm on Clomid? Is it psychological? Please help. I listen to your podcast daily.     Trish: Hi Dr C. - hoping to get some advice on your 7-day detox. I'm in my 50's and most of my life my weight has gone up and down by 30lbs. I have a problem with binging. As I've gotten older, I've learned how to control it and my triggers. I've tried the detox 3 times and I have found that it causes me to binge. Becoming too strict it throws me for a loop. I don't do the two fasting days. I fast 20 hours. I avoid all the inflammatory foods gluten, dairy, corns, eggs & nuts as I do this on a daily basis so that isn't hard for me. Giving up berries/fruit in my smoothie & some quinoa or brown rice is what starts to create me wanting to binge. I usually eat 1 sq a day 90% cacao choc too. Any advice on making the detox beneficial without following the guidelines 100%? A Note from James:In the first two episodes with Dr. Nicole McNichols, we talked about chemistry, communication, anatomy, and the science of pleasure. This final episode is really about something deeper—how relationships evolve over time and what actually keeps desire alive.Because the truth is, long-term relationships don't stay exciting automatically. They require intention. They require curiosity. And sometimes the issue isn't your partner at all—it's that you've stopped doing things that light you up in your own life.We also talk about novelty, sex toys, aging, hormones, communication, and why pleasure itself is not optional for wellbeing—it's essential. This conversation tied everything together for me.Episode Description:How do couples keep desire alive years—or decades—into a relationship? In the final part of this series, Dr. Nicole McNichols explains why long-term passion isn't about constant novelty or dramatic reinvention. It's about intentional connection, personal growth, communication, and maintaining a sense of play. They discuss the “seven-year itch,” why boredom often comes from losing personal passion rather than losing attraction, and how seeing your partner energized by their own interests can reignite desire. The conversation also explores sex toys as collaborative tools, the health benefits of sexual activity, aging and sexuality, hormone therapy, and practical ways to communicate about sex without embarrassment. The episode closes with a powerful reminder: pleasure is not a luxury—it's a core component of wellbeing. What You'll Learn:Why boredom in relationships is often about your own life—not your partnerHow pursuing individual passions can increase attraction in long-term couplesWhy sex toys enhance connection rather than threaten itThe physical and psychological health benefits of sexual activityHow curiosity, humor, and vulnerability improve sexual communicationTimestamped Chapters:[00:02:00] Pleasure, Playfulness & Why Attraction Fades[00:03:28] The Seven-Year Itch & Long-Term Desire[00:04:00] Intention, Communication & Intimacy Dates[00:04:45] When Boredom Is About Your Own Life[00:05:25] Personal Passion & Seeing Your Partner Differently[00:06:11] The Best Sex of Your Life After Kids[00:08:16] Novelty Without Threatening the Relationship[00:09:24] Erotic Identity & Emotional Needs[00:11:00] Frequency of Novelty & Sexual Compatibility[00:11:21] Men Feeling Threatened by Novelty[00:11:42] Sex Toys as Collaborative Tools[00:13:26] The Pleasure Cycle: Wanting, Liking, Learning[00:14:12] Sex, Stress Reduction & Sleep[00:15:23] Health Benefits of Sex[00:16:08] Pleasure as Essential Wellbeing[00:19:00] Is Sex the Most Enjoyable Activity?[00:20:00] Presence, Mindfulness & Happiness Research[00:21:39] Sex and Meditation[00:22:00] Sex in Your 80s & Aging[00:23:22] Loneliness, Health & Sexual Function[00:24:25] Erectile Dysfunction & Physical Health[00:25:00] Menopause, Hormones & Sexual Pain[00:26:23] Hormone Therapy & Medical Guidance[00:27:35] Communication as the Core Skill[00:28:35] Leading With Curiosity[00:29:56] Humor, Playfulness & Awkward Conversations[00:31:08] Closing ThoughtsAdditional Resources:You Could Be Having Better SexNicole McNicholsDaniel Gilbert — Happiness research referencedSee Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.
