Taz Taylor, founder of Internet Money, stopped by the podcast and dropped some knowledge! From selling beats online to signing 66 producers, his early day Twitter hustle, doing fair business, and recently getting his Lil Baby credit, Taz Taylor has solidified himself as a young legend.
Taz Taylor revealed that even producers are the level of Internet Money aren't being paid their advances on time by labels and offers an explanation as to why this happens regularly. For some reason, there was a backlash to his honesty. Dame talks fake friends in the music business who switch up for clicks and likes and Young Guru is concerned about an AI-generated Kendrick Lamar voice clone.
There's a lot to be said for that...
Taz Taylor is our guest for this episode of Spotify Live. We talk about his come up in the rap game and how he chose to be a producer to eventually landing his first placement. We also talk about some songs he had a hand in crafting that he just recently got production credit for and also talk the business of production and whether producers deserve equal share of royalties for a song as the artist. We talk about some of big hits like him producing Lil Baby - Freestyle and others. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/offtherecord-djakademiks/support
Internet Money keeps evolving. What began as a loose collective of producers selling "type" beats on YouTube grew into a music industry powerhouse that helped break stars like Juice WRLD and Lil Tecca, racking up dozens of Billboard hits and platinum plaques in the process. The majority of Internet Money's members live together in a Los Angeles house, and they throw around words like "family" and "brothers" when they talk about each other. The collective's founder, Taz Taylor, speaks proudly about their track record of plucking artists from relative obscurity and putting in the time to develop them into stars who put up ungodly streaming numbers. Meanwhile, Internet Money producer Nick Mira has become a juggernaut in his own right, earning credits on many of Juice WRLD's biggest hits, as well as placements with Trippie Redd, Post Malone, Young Thug, Lil Uzi Vert, Lil Tecca, Polo G, and more. Having accomplished many of their early goals, and recently partnering with Elliot Grainge's 10K Projects, Taz Taylor and the Internet Money team came up with a new challenge for themselves: make an album of their own. source: Internet Money Is Dropping an An Album | Complex --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/masseffect/support

NBA Youngboy is dropping a new mixtape entitled Colors this Friday, January 14. The rapper made the announcement on social media earlier today, unveiling the cover art for the project. Designed by Atlanta artist TRILL, the artwork features NBA Youngboy wearing a black beanie and rainbow tie-dye hoodie. Colors will mark the twentieth mixtape that he's put out since 2015. This tape follows November's Until I Return, which arrived only weeks after he was released into house arrest following a seven-month prison stint. Last week, the rapper shared a new single called “Fish Scale.” And on Tuesday, Taz Taylor, one of the founding producers at the collective Internet Money, shared a video of NBA Youngboy in the studio and announced that they'll be dropping their song “Flossin'” on January 21. NBA Youngboy's Colors is out on streaming services on Friday. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/masseffect/support

Loyal iann dior fans have been excited about his Lil Uzi Vert collaboration track ever since he previewed it on his Instagram story, and now he has finally unleashed it in full for fans to enjoy yesterday (Sept. 14). The freshly dropped “V12” track is produced by Nick Mira, Cxdy, and Taz Taylor. Back in April, iann dior shared his latest single featuring labelmate Trippie Redd. The new “shots in the dark” is the duo's sequel to their 2019 collaboration “gone girl,” a fan favorite for both iann and Trippie. That track was paired with “don't wanna believe” as well. Prior to that, just as he dropped his EP I'm Gone, dior was featured on 24KGoldn's wildly successful single “Mood” back in 2020. The infectious single immediately began to climb the charts, becoming both iann dior and 24KGoldn's first #1 on Billboard's Hot 100 chart. Before Internet Money would produce hit tracks like Lil Tecca's “Ransom”, JuiceWRLD's “Lucid Dreams” and Drake's “Blue Tint”. Before Internet Money would drop their debut album as a collective titled: “B4 the Storm” which features the likes of Lil Mosey, Future, and Wiz Khalifa. There's a pretty decent chance that you might not know the name Taz Taylor – but I can almost guarantee that you know his beats. Taz is the mastermind behind the production collective known as Internet Money – a group that he created after feeling dissatisfied with the usual role of a producer in the music industry.

Every series, show, podcast, you name it, etc, has its hidden gems that even the best of us can sometimes take time to obtain. This the time we bring ours! From the deepest depths of the web, we were able to not only were we able to get a internet producing pioneer, but this specific one share some ties with our host going to their teen years! UK's Larkin Beats was one of the first in the scenes of internet producers (such as the Taz Taylor's, Johnny Juliano, Vybez, Omito, Gummy Beats, Nagra, you get the idea!) from the soundclick Era. Yes the Soundclick Era. Some of you are probably asking what's SC? Let's just say it was here before myflashstore (now Airbit) & Beatstars! Along with these legendary gems, Larkin explained his biggest goal of today, Finding Balance. What was a good run of beat sales and kit sales running the $$$ up came with a cost that no amount of money could fix. Listen hear, and also find about about Larkin & 215god's history as well! --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app

What's Hatnin'?
Taz Taylor started selling beats online to pay for his mum’s cancer treatment. He’s now leading a collective that’s been churning out the hits almost daily. After meeting similar minded producers online, Taylor had the idea of getting a collective together to better represent their interests. Nick Mira was one, and together they started developing a new voice on the scene called Juice WRLD. Years later, Internet Money has generated gold and platinum records for the likes of Trevor Daniel, Lil Tecca, Trippie Redd and many more. Richard Kingsmill speaks here to Taz Taylor (real name: Danny Snodgrass Jr.) about his vision, leaving school at Grade 7, working with the likes of Juice WRLD and The Kid LAROI, and the collective’s debut album called B4 The Storm which features the likes of Future, Swae Lee and Wiz Khalifa.

Taz Taylor insists it's the "Taz Taylor Band" and that he can't do it alone. This mainly Instrumental group is a heavy-hitting hard rock band who shares their music here on The Dusty Futon! We chat about how they've been around since 2004, with Val Trainer (Drummer) joining in 2006. Taz is a London transplant who came to San Diego with very little and worked hard to put out an album, playing nearly all the instruments himself on "Caffeine Racer." Moving forward, he's a four-piece ensemble that features vocalist Chandler Mogel from time-to-time. And other famous guest musicians...Taz and Val love to name-drop, in an extremely grateful and humble way. Listen to a few of their tracks in this episode and follow them at taztaylor.com! The episode you all have been waiting for. It was such a pleasure to have the great Taz Taylor (of Internet Money) on our show. Taz is undeniably one of the forefronts in the "internet producer" movement, having earned hundreds of thousands of dollars hustling online selling and leasing beats to independent artists. We dug deep into conversation about some of the pros/cons of the industry, his recent cross over into the "industry producer" side (signing with APG), dropping out of school at an early age, using his hard earned money to do good (funding medical bills for his family being one of them) and so much more. If you're feeling a cross roads and unsure of where you fit in the industry as a music producer (Do I sell beats on line? Do I try to get placements? Do I do both?) then this is a must-listen.
