This week, a quick trip to Colchester with Joe Ford and Jack Shanahan, to try on a new frock at Sanderson & Grainger before being horribly murdered. In the meantime, of course, James Corden is learning a valuable lesson about fatherhood, while the Doctor comes to terms with his impending certain death, probably. It's Closing Time. Notes and links We start the episode by making a list of similarities between this story and Series 5's The Lodger. By the most amazing coincidence, Joe and Jack joined us for the first time on our episode about The Lodger earlier this year. No, Nathan, it's nail polish remover, not nail polish that finishes off the Cybermen in The Moonbase. (Thanks, Brendan.) Brendan cracks the joke that the Cybermen came from Marinus, which is actually a thing that happens (spoilers) in the Doctor Who Magazine comic The World Shapers. Joe is right — the scene where those Cylons start singing All Along the Watchtower in Battlestar Galactica (2004) is one of the great moments in television history. No spoilers. Team Knight Rider only ran for a single season in 1997–1998, which suggests that the cliffhanger Brendan mentions didn't have the effect on audience figures that the creators might have been hoping for. And finally — it's not Brendan who cracked the code in the tag: the theory that the M in Swarm stands for Meglos comes from @joshryancarr on Twitter. At the time of publication, Flux Chapter 6 is mere hours away, and so there's still time for this theory to be proved true. Fingers crossed. It's week 2 of Summer Slash 2020, but we have to stop and take a minute to discuss a movie tangent. A Made For TV situation. We have to discuss all the Knight Rider sequels and rebooting attempts. Like Knight Rider 2000, Knight Rider 2010, Knight Rider: 2008, and Team Knight Rider. Yes, Knight Rider: 2008 comes after Knight Rider 2010, that's not a typo. There’s a German Slasher film out there with a 100% Rotten Tomato rating, it was the debut feature of a filmmaker named Till Kleinert that he crowdfunded and he also used non-actors as the lead and the killer - Michel Diercks and Pit Bukowski did I mention it has a 100% rating on the tomato meter. A katana wielding maniac in a dress emerges from the woods and attacks a small village with 2 police officers, the hero of our story being the new kid with a badge.I know police officers are not people’s favorite heroes right now, but this dude is just some innocent kid himself who seems to have taken the only job in this one job town he could get. He spends most of his time feeding wild animals and he doesn’t even carry a gun. This dude literally tries to reason the killer out of his killing spree with kind words and suggestions. One Word First impressions of the Der Samurai? Disturbing.Last week? Summer Slash covered Scream Series and that took us all the way back to the 90s, so John tells the guys about this website he found called My Decade TV that takes you back to a bunch of decades on an old school TV dial.Other highlights:John tells the guys about Shirley on Hulu.John talks about Spike Lee’s upcoming Netflix movie, Da 5 Bloods a Vietnam War drama.Have you guys seen Samurai Cop? The Penis. The Woods. The Wolf.Highway To Hell? Since the hero was a cop. Let’s talk about a cop that polices Hell. The A to Z continues on, and this time around it's the letter K and the totally cheesy TV series, “Knight Rider”. We look back at the original run from the 80's that was famous for it's talking car, awesome theme song and the bad acting of David Hasselhoff, and then jump ahead to the later versions, including the telemovies “Knight Rider 2000” and “Knight Rider 2010”, the 90's “Team Knight Rider” and the 2008 re-boot
