POSTGAME: TITANS Defeat CARDINALS 22-21....in an INCREDIBLE ComeBack Victory!! GLENDALE, AZ ― Well, how about that: The Tennessee Titans won a football game. They put their 10-game losing streak to bed with a 22-21 comeback versus the Arizona Cardinals at State Farm Stadium on Oct. 5, getting coach Brian Callahan and quarterback Cam Ward their first win as a tandem. The Titans (1-4) trailed by 15 points for most of the game and looked poised to go down three scores in the fourth quarter on a long Arizona run, but a mental mistake turned what should've been six Arizona points into Titans football. Rookie quarterback Cam Ward responded with a scoring drive. Then the Titans defense forced a quick stop. Then the Titans scored a touchdown on a play that started with a Cardinals interception. Suddenly the score was 21-19 with a little under five minutes to play, and the Titans needing a stop to finish the comeback. Arizona drained some clock, but the defense came up with its stop, getting the ball back to the offense with 1:53 left and no timeouts from the Titans' own 18-yard line. After a couple quick completions, Ward found tight end Chig Okonkwo for 16 yards to get the team near midfield and then a 38-yard dagger to receiver Calvin Ridley to get the Titans well into kicker Joey Slye's range. Slye connected on a 29-yard field goal to win the game. Looking for a free mini puzzle? Play the USA TODAY Quick Cross now. What the heck happened there? Ward nearly threw the game away. At the 4:53 mark in the fourth quarter, Ward dropped back on a third-and-2 from the Cardinals' 20-yard line trailing by nine points. An incompletion wouldn't have been the worst thing; the Titans could've easily kicked a field goal from there and made it a one-score game. But Ward forced a pass to Ridley into a tight window and was intercepted by safety Dadrion Taylor-Demerson, seemingly ending the Titans' threat. Not so fast. Taylor-Demerson went to the ground untouched after the interception and couldn't keep control of the football. Madness ensued. Several Cardinals tripped and kicked the ball backward trying to recover the fumble. Titans receiver Tyler Lockett squeezed ahead and landed on the ball in the end zone. Touchdown, Lockett's first as a Titan. Cam Ward stats: One gutsy quarter Ward was erratic, late on several throws and couldn't find any rhythm on deep shots. He only completed 5 of his 16 attempts in the first half, finishing with just 58 passing yards. Factor in sacks, and the Titans only netted 42 yards through the air before halftime, with the offense stalling across midfield three times. Get the 4th and Monday newsletter in your inbox. Expert guide of the week's NFL action, game results and must-see moments. Delivery: Mon Your Email For a brief moment in the fourth quarter, Ward showed signs of life. With the Titans trailing 21-6, Ward orchestrated a six-play, 80-yard drive headlined by a 47-yard deep crosser to Ridley that got the Titans into the red zone for the first time in eight quarters and a 19-yard rainbow to tight end Gunnar Helm perfectly lofted over Helm's outside shoulder that set up a 1-yard Tony Pollard touchdown. Ward finished the day 21-for-39 with 265 yards and an interception. Ridley caught five passes for 131 yards. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

The Tennessee #Titans and Arizona #Cardinals meet in Week 5 action in Glendale, Arizona, this Sunday. The two teams have met a total of 12 times, with the Cardinals winning eight of those matchups. The #TITANUP look to change that this week, but it won't be an easy task. The Cardinals are an unpredictable team that keeps games close regardless of whether they win or lose. The Titans have shown flashes of potential, but have been unable to capitalize on much of anything. The matchup between these teams provides some intriguing fantasy football options on both sides of the ball. Let's take a look at some players to start and sit in fantasy football from this Week 5 matchup. Start: TE Trey McBride, Arizona Trey McBride has been Kyler Murray's top target all season. Marvin Harrison Jr. is making a case for himself as well, but McBride leads the Cardinals with 234 receiving yards. The Titans' defense struggles in the middle third, so if Murray targets McBride there, he could end up averaging 13 yards per catch like he did against the Carolina Panthers. Sit: WR Calvin Ridley, Tennessee This was a tough decision. Ridley hasn't played well through the first four weeks of the season. He has 10 receptions on 24 targets for 141 yards, a 41% catch rate, and zero touchdowns. He will be targeted this week against a weak Cardinals' secondary, but trusting him to catch the ball is a risk right now. If you truly need a receiver from this team, grab Elic Ayomanor. He has 12 receptions on 25 targets for 151 yards and a touchdown. His catch rate is still under 50%, but it's higher than Ridley's. Start: QB Kyler Murray, Arizona The Titans' defense struggles mightily against the run and has not been good at getting pressure on the quarterback. That could change this week with Jeffery Simmons set to take advantage of Evan Brown, who has struggled to gain leverage and anchor. This will cause Murray to roll out more often than he would like, which also means he will run with the ball more often than he'd like. With the Cardinals using their third-and fourth-string running backs, Murray becomes the focal point of the run game. Start: RB Tony Pollard, Tennessee If there's anything about the Titans' offense that is good, it's Tony Pollard. Okay, that's not really fair, but Pollard is the most reliable offensive player the Titans have. He is a volume back; he's not going to average five yards per carry like Christian McCaffrey, but he will get plenty of touches. And, he's one of the first players to find the end zone for Tennessee regularly. The Cardinals' run defense is solid, ranking in the top 10, but Pollard is essentially the Titans' entire run game right now. He will get his yards this week. Start: WR Marvin Harrison Jr., Arizona Trey McBride may be the top-targeted player so far, but Harrison is making a case for himself to be Murray's favorite. He's also facing a Titans' secondary that has allowed six passing touchdowns and ranks 22nd versus wide receivers. In his second year, Harrison is finding his footing and learning to fully implement his talents on the field. He will get his targets this week, and he's likely to give L'Jarius Sneed a run for his money when he does catch the ball. Sleeper: RB Emari Demercado, Arizona The starting running back by default, Demercado, is in his third season in the NFL. Trey Benson was placed on injured reserve this week, and James Conner was placed on injured reserve with a foot injury, which is how Demercado ended up the starting running back. He has just four carries in 2025, but as the lead back, he will get 12-15 touches on Sunday. The Titans' run defense is fifth-worst in the NFL, which means that Demercado could have a breakout game. Author Matt Ridley is well known for his book "The Rational Optimist," which argued that the world is consistently getting better year after year. In the 15 years since that book was published, however, world events have convinced many people that the opposite is actually true. Matt Kibbe sits down with Ridley to discuss his next book project, in which he will update and reflect on his earlier conclusions to see whether there is still reason to be optimistic or if in fact it is rational to be a pessimist.

The Pickleball Show with CurtisReese -Discuss the fast growing sport of Pickleball!
In this Show, host Curtis Reese sits down with Ridley Seguso, a rising star in the pickleball world with deep roots in professional tennis. Born on June 12, 1993, Ridley is the son of former Grand Slam doubles champion Robert Seguso—who won 29 doubles titles, including four majors—and ex-top-10 WTA player Carling Bassett-Seguso, a Canadian tennis prodigy who reached No. 8 in the world in 1985 and was the youngest winner of the Canadian closed championship at age 14. Growing up in this athletic dynasty, the now 32-year-old Ridley pursued a competitive tennis career himself, standing at 6-foot-3 and competing in USTA pro events, ITF junior circuits, and ATP qualifiers as a right-handed singles player. The conversation shifts to Ridley's transformative entry into pickleball around 2022, which he credits with reigniting his passion for racquet sports while offering the social, accessible vibe that tennis sometimes lacked for him. Drawing on his tennis-honed skills—like precise volleys and court positioning—Ridley explains how he quickly adapted to pickleball's faster pace and smaller court, transitioning from casual play to competing as an amateur in APP Tour events. He shares practical tips for tennis converts: focusing on soft hands at the net, mastering the dink to control rallies, and leveraging doubles experience for better partner communication—skills amplified by his family's tennis legacy.Reese and Seguso also touch on the family dynamic, with Ridley reflecting on how pickleball brought the whole Seguso clan closer. They discuss the sport's explosive growth, Ridley's goals for climbing pro rankings, and how pickleball's inclusivity helped him, turning it into a tool for resilience and community. Ridley also hints at his multifaceted life, including a LinkedIn profile noting his appreciation for skill-building and success in others. Packed with humor, insider strategies, and motivational stories, this episode highlights why pickleball is capturing athletes from traditional racquet sports.https://www.facebook.com/ridseguso/https://www.linkedin.com/in/ridley-seguso-6b511849/https://www.youtube.com/shorts/4nGg7HxKdiQhttps://pickleball.com/players/ridley-seguso
William Ridley, Ph.D. https://ace.illinois.edu/directory/wridleyWilliam Ridley, Ph.D. on Google Scholar: https://scholar.google.com/citations?user=Qjox4QIAAAAJ&hl=enToday's episode is timely and thought provoking in my opinion. The farm economy is struggling again this year, and while there's no one cause for all of that struggle, exports certainly play a role. A major role. I'm very pleased to welcome Dr. Bill Ridley onto the show. Bill is an international economist studying global markets and trade policy at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. His research explores pressing market and policy issues relating to international agricultural trade, economic integration, trade disputes, and the implications of globalization for the environment and natural resource use.I wanted to bring Bill on the show to ask about the implications of tariffs and trade disputes for the farm economy, his perspective on the current trade relationship with China, his work on the virtual water trade which is an interesting concept measuring how much domestic water gets used to export food out of the country, and his thoughts on the path forward from here. If you're hoping for a rosey picture of how this all plays out, I'll warn you now - you may be disappointed. But it's certainly an important topic to be thinking deeply about how this impacts your business for all of us in agriculture.

Rod Villagomez and Munaf Manji talk NFL fantasy football for week 1 Week one of the NFL season is here, and fantasy football owners are facing those familiar flex spot dilemmas that often decide championships. Rod Villagomez and Munaf Manji dive deep into the most pressing start-sit questions, breaking down wide receiver matchups, running back depth charts, and how injuries shape early lineups . The discussion opens with Cooper Kupp's sharp decline and Ricky Pearsall's rise as San Francisco's surprise weapon. With Brandon Aiyuk banged up and Deebo Samuel absent, Purdy's chemistry with Pearsall makes him the stronger play, especially compared to Kupp adapting to a new offense in Seattle. Munaf reinforces the point, stressing that Pearsall's end-of-season surge and target share translate into legitimate WR2 or flex value. The pair even rank Pearsall above Calvin Ridley in week one, given Ridley's tough matchup against Denver's shutdown corner Patrick Surtain . The show then pivots to DJ Moore versus DK Metcalf. Moore's chemistry with Caleb Williams and strong history against Minnesota stand out, but the allure of Aaron Rodgers throwing deep to Metcalf lingers. Ultimately, both agree that Moore offers the safer floor, while Metcalf is a gamble for owners already trailing after Thursday night. That tension between security and upside is exactly what makes these early-season choices agonizing . Next, they spotlight Mika Yubikei, Tampa Bay's rookie wideout, thrust into action with Chris Godwin sidelined. With Mike Evans drawing top coverage, Yubikei could quietly pile up targets against Atlanta, especially if Baker Mayfield is forced into a shootout. Both Rod and Munaf lean toward starting him, seeing opportunity in volume and game script . Running back depth is another theme. The uncertainty around Christian McCaffrey's calf injury leaves Isaac Guerendo and Brian Robinson Jr. as next-man-up options. Shanahan's system historically leans on multiple backs, and Robinson's signing signals trust. Owners who handcuffed correctly may be rewarded right away. Meanwhile, the hosts debate Cortland Sutton versus Tyrone Tracy Jr. The Broncos receiver brings talent but faces Tennessee's elite pass defense, while Tracy benefits from Washington's leaky run defense. Both lean Tracy, siding with matchup over pedigree . They also tackle Garrett Wilson's value under Justin Fields. Despite quarterback inconsistency, Wilson's target volume makes him hard to bench. Comparing him to Sutton, Munaf sides with Wilson, highlighting how opportunity can outweigh efficiency. Another big-name dilemma: Stefan Diggs versus Jauan Jennings. Diggs, now in New England, offers veteran stability for Drake May, while Jennings is a tertiary option in San Francisco's crowded offense. Both analysts see Diggs as the better play, predicting a potential bounce-back year . The show closes on Austin Ekeler versus Nick Chubb. Ekeler brings dual-threat ability but declining efficiency, while Chubb returns from injury with questions about workload. Rod admits he already benched Ekeler in one league for Chubb, preferring the steadier ground game. They stress that early weeks often spark overreactions, but data on snap counts and usage will soon clarify future decisions. Flex spots may not be glamorous, but as the hosts remind listeners, they swing weekly outcomes and, ultimately, titles . In the end, this week one preview isn't just about names—it's about context, matchups, and opportunity. From Pearsall's emergence in San Francisco to Tracy's rushing upside in New York, the nuances matter. Owners who weigh talent against defensive strength, who balance floor and ceiling, will position themselves for early-season wins. And as always, championships are decided in the margins, in those tricky flex calls that define Sunday glory. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
In this episode of the show we are embarking on a brand new monthly mini-journey through the cinema of David Ayer, specifically his crime movies, and we begin with his directorial debut Harsh Times. Over the course of our conversation you will hear us talk about Ayer's beginnings as a writer, his transition into directing and how his work owes a heck of a lot to Antoine Fuqua, Ridley and Tony Scott and the entire generation of MTV filmmakers. We talk about writing what you know and how the movie encapsulates stories Ayer grew up around in LA, how the movie is a hangout experience akin to Dazed and Confused until it isn't, how the filmmaker earnestly embraces violence and genre (sometimes to a fault) and how Christian Bale's performance is a stunning showcase of character prep. Finally, the long-awaited and eagerly anticipated Alien TV show has arrived! Dan and Raul fancy themselves pretty well-versed in the 'Xenomorpho-verse' so they were stoked to see what accomplished TV-creator extraodinaire, Noah Hawley, had in mind for the expansion of this very popular universe. Listen to the guys iterate on the details that link stylistically the many interesting ways the OG Alien movie gets referenced while offering many new characters that include cyborgs, synths, and the newly spawned hybrids. Corporations battle for control of Earth in 2120 and the many aliens are just part of this sci-fi, horror punchbowl, so listen ahead to see if the guys are drinking the Kool Aid or wishing Ridley never allowed this to happen!
For centuries, the lodestone of the West's moral compass pointed to Jesus. Today, it points away from Hitler. That shift from a positive to a negative moral touchstone can be seen in popular culture's panoply of dark lords—Darth Vader, Sauron, Voldemort—each a rather unsubtle echo of Hitler himself.Join Sam Fornecker for a conversation with Alec Ryrie, Professor of the History of Christianity at Durham University and author of The Age of Hitler and How We Will Survive It (Reaktion, 2025). According to Ryrie, the story of the war against Hitler has become “not only our Trojan War, but our Paradise Lost." What Ryrie calls anti-Nazi values have set the agenda for the West since the war: but that moral consensus is fast collapsing. The question is, what will follow it? And what is the Church's role in preserving the moral lessons of the twenty-first century, while also—God willing—modeling a way of being in the world that leads to greater human thriving than anti-Nazi values on their own can sustain?Enjoying this podcast? “And then his youngest daughter, who's six years old, comes up, and she's into gymnastics and she's kind of cartwheeling around the room while everyone else is playing. And then, ‘All right, she's going to play you a song.' And she comes up, and she's all full of beans, and then she sits down and she plays the most somber Debussy song. And it was, like, there was so much soul in what she played for a six-year-old. I'm like, ‘whoa!' Like, the amount of depth in what she did was, like, whoa! ‘You are, like, a wise young girl.' That's an old soul. And I looked at him, and he's crying. And then at the end of this evening, we again get to talking about AI, and he was asking, this comes full circle, this is the reason I bring this story up, is he's invested heavily in various different AI projects. And one of them is this company that's gonna be, like, a prompt and then it makes music. And he said, ‘Well, you know it's cool, but are you not worried about AI, like, taking you out?' And I was like, ‘Well, do you think I should be? You probably know better than me.' And he said, ‘Well, you know, AI can do exactly what she just did, just so you know, like right now, I could get AI to play that song and it can play it perfectly.' I was like, ‘Yeah, but would it make you cry?'" – Stephen Ridley This is the 300th episode of Audio Branding: The Hidden Gem of Marketing, and my conversation with international pianist and founder of the Ridley Academy, Stephen Ridley, continues as we discuss why Stephen prefers live performances to studio recordings, the school he's now running to help others find their own passion for music, and the one song he's vowed to never play on the piano. (0:00:01) - The Future of Creativity and AIThe second half of our conversation picks up with Stephen's illuminating discussion of AI with a billionaire tech investor, and where he sees AI leading us in the future. “There are a lot of things in life where we don't necessarily need to put ourselves into it,” he explains. “They don't require our imagination, creativity, any spiritual anything. Those things probably can be replaced by AI.” We discuss AI's limitations as a way of conveying emotion, and where the new economy might lead us once machines are handling the busy work. “I actually think the future economy will be heavily into creativity, and into art,” Stephen adds, “since I think that's exactly where culture will go.”(0:07:16) – The Unique Power of Live EntertainmentStephen recalls his brief and unexpected foray into iTunes after discovering that a record label had uploaded his music without permission. “They're like, ‘Okay, if you don't like it, sue us.' And obviously I wasn't in a position to do that, and they have all the money in the world,” he explains. “So I was like, ‘Okay, well, I can't do that, but what I can do is remove it. So I just removed it.” He talks about why, even though he's starting to return to social
Aug 9, 2025 #Buccaneers #Titans #TennesseeTAMPA, Fla. (AP) — Cam Ward's pro debut was solid, if unspectacular. The first overall pick in this year's NFL draft completed five of eight passes for 67 yards, but more importantly was composed and looked comfortable running Tennessee's offense in the Titans' 29-7 preseason-opening loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Saturday night. Two days after working against the #Buccaneers defense in a joint practice at Tampa Bay's training facility, Ward played three offensive series, including an impressive second-quarter touchdown drive that gave the #Titans a glimpse of what the franchise is counting on to be a bright future with him at quarterback. The 6-foot-2, 219-pound rookie completed three passes to Calvin Ridley to account for all but 15 yards on the 11-play, 65-yard TD drive Tony Pollard finished with a 1-yard scoring run. That came after the #Tennessee offense spent more than 14 minutes of the opening quarter on the sideline while Tampa Bay was building a 10-0 lead and a whopping 143-5 advantage in total yardage while running 22 plays to Tennessee's 3. Ward began his team's only scoring drive with a 27-yard completion over the middle to a wide-open Ridley and later led his target cutting across the middle again with a nice throw for a 13-yard gain into Tampa Bay territory. The rookie got away with his worst throw of the night when #Bucs cornerback Josh Hayes made a nice adjustment on a sideline throw intended for receiver Elic Ayomanor but was unable to hang on to the ball for an interception. Ward, who had no turnovers and was not sacked, left the game after leading one more drive that ended with a punt. Backup Brandon Allen entered to kneel down on the final play of the first half, then shared playing time after halftime with Tim Boyle. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
“Chick invited me to go to this jazz club in Soho called Ronnie Scott's in London. And it was, like, two o'clock in the morning – I was like, ‘I don't think it's gonna be open.' I did not know who I was dealing with. It's Chick Corea. He just makes a call, it's open, and they'd set out three pianos in a room facing each other. And we walked in this room, we sat down, and Chick could play a few notes. Herbie had joined in, I'd joined in, and we kind of each took it at turns in leading the thing. This song went on for hours. It changed, it evolved, it moved. It was the most amazing thing. And Herbie said something really, really amazing. He was like, because even though we didn't say anything to each other, I like, know these people in this moment. I know, I feel them, like there's something happening, and so here's the super geek moment. He said something in it, and it really resonates with me: he's like, ‘You know, music's not about the sound, right? The sound is carrying an intention.'" – Stephen Ridley This week's guest is a world-renowned British pianist, composer, and visionary in modern piano education. His journey from high-flying investment banker to global musical sensation is as remarkable as his performances. He discovered his passion for the piano at age two and received formal training when he was eleven, but it wasn't until he left the corporate world that his true artistry flourished. Starting as a London street performer, his raw talent and electrifying performances quickly garnered international attention and propelled him onto some of the world's most prestigious stages. His name is Stephen Ridley, and our conversation ranges from how music connects us and transcends language to how it prolongs our lives. (0:00:00) – The Power of SoundAs our discussion begins, Stephen shares his memories of a turbulent childhood in northern England, and what he discovered about the power of sound when he found a case full of his dad's old cassettes. “The most amazing thing of this,” he tells us, “was I saw it change my dad, and he went into this other person, a much more beautiful, calm, serene sort of English version of Elvis. He sort of became a bit Elvis and he was singing to my mom and they were sweet and romantic together and I was like, ‘What is this superpower?” He remembers how that moment, and a neighbor's gift of a simple toy piano, sparked his love of music, and his ongoing fascination with its impact on listeners. “It's a magic which I've now come to know intimately,” he explains, “and I get to go around the world and share that magic with people and I've seen it now just millions of times. It's so amazing to me.”(0:07:00) - Inspirational Journey of Music and PassionStephen shares more of his early memories of sound, and how growing up in a secluded village with nothing to do proved to be a blessing in disguise for learning...
