We wanna hear from you! Send us a message here :) Saddle Bronc athlete-turned neo-traditional country music sensation Chancey Williams, has gone from competing on horseback to performing on center stage. As one of only two artists (along with Chris LeDoux) to both compete in the rodeo and perform on the main stage at Cheyenne Frontier Days and the only singer/songwriter to be endorsed by CINCH®, Williams is the next authentic cowboy of country music. The northeastern Wyoming native has toured the nation, taking the stage ahead of headliners Toby Keith, Cody Johnson, Alan Jackson, Dierks Bentley and Parker McCollum, performing at a sold-out Ryman Auditorium, Red Rocks Amphitheatre, as well as headlining at The National Finals Rodeo and multiple performances at the Grand Ole Opry. Keep up with Chancey here!Support the show

AppleamazonFacebookYoutubeInstagramGable Burnett's new song “Trouble” starts off with a bang and takes off from there in a flat dead rocking country run. Her career as a recording artist, beginning with “Trouble,” should follow the same trajectory. “Should” not only because she writes some great music and “should” because she has the talent and the power voice, but “should” because she is working it.The song is clearly country, but rock is also in the mix, in generous measure. She agrees with that opinion to an extent. “I think it's all subjective at the end of the day. With the rock style instruments we put in there, we have a kind of rockabilly, old school sound, but people who are hardcore into rock and the sub genres of rock might not consider it rock.”However it might be considered, the music is fun and danceable and the lyrics are fun and listener singable. You will be singing it out loud before you know you're doing it.“Trouble,” which she co-wrote with Andi Renfree, who wrote “The Buffalo Grass” for Chris LeDoux, is the first song in this new phase of her career. She has been performing for years, and for the last couple has been putting out music on the streaming platforms, but with new manager Lisa Kyser of Ten East Ten West, she now has direction.Gable has pulled her previous catalogue and it will be re-released in the distribution plan for her music. Before 2018, she was in opera as part of a studio in Richardson, Texas, and did opera kinds of things, like singing in seven different languages and performing in the Carnegie Hall honors series, where she won some scholarship money. She participated in National Association of Teachers of Singing competitions “and all this kind of high classical stuff.” “But I really didn't start trying to figure out what I wanted to do and performing more of what I wanted to do until 2018, when I moved to Nashville. Even though I had that classical background and education, I knew I didn't want to be a teacher and I knew I didn't want to sing opera over in Europe, and those are pretty much the only two options you have in that classical path.” Country at first wasn't in the running for what she wanted to do. She was “messing around with pop and different stuff,” but her family didn't want her to go to Los Angeles or New York. Family friends connected to the Gatlin Brothers suggested country. “At the time, the main thing was the Florida-Georgia line and a lot of bro country, and there's nothing wrong with that, but it just wasn't my style. I was like, ‘Oh, I don't want that. I don't want to sing about boots and trucks and blah blah blah.' And they said, ‘No no no! You're good. Listen to some Johnny Cash and Dolly Parton. Here's some artists and some songs. Go listen to that and come back.'”She took the advice.“They were right,” she said. “I love the storytelling aspect. I love the history behind it. I love the culture behind it. I love everything about country music. It ties into so much of my life, where I grew up and everything, that I was taken aback that I hadn't discovered how wonderful it was sooner.”She paused for a second, thinking about that, then said, “Well, I grew up in a household where I was only allowed to listen to Christian music for years.” She says now her two main inspirations are Dolly and David Alan Coe. She also references The Judds, Patsy Cline, Tammy Wynette — “all the women who've been really big in country music, who've come before me and definitely paved the way for me to be able to do what I'm trying my best to do.” When she says “trying,” she means putting in some hard work. “This is basically the start of everything for me,” she said. “I've got four jobs, and both my parents helped me, too. I got all these different side hustles just trying to make the dream come true.” She has shows booked in August, more songs ready to put out, “other things in the pipeline that we're getting pre-recorded to put out after thatBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/creator-to-creators-with-meosha-bean--4460322/support.

I like Oklahoma. I love the sunrises and the sunsets. I love the OKC Stockyards and going to the Cattleman's Cafe for a nice ribeye. I like the rodeo stories and listening to Chris LeDoux sing about winning the World Championship Bareback Title in OKC. I like the college wrestling history and how John Smith is one of the most dominating wrestlers ever. And what about Barry Sanders and The Herman out of Oklahoma State University? Coach Switzer and the NCAA Title at the University of Oklahoma? The oil! The farming! Oklahoma has it all and Chase Rice even wrote a song off his last album called Oklahoma! I love this state and most of all I love the ducks and geese! They are everywhere! I have hunted them on water and brands and peanuts and wheat and you name it, I've done it! Oklahoma is special to me and this episode was awesome to do. I'm hooked by JD, Josh, and Aaron, the founders and owners of FowlCo! Their story, their passion, their vision, their approach, and their results! We talk about all and even get down to some pretty personal topics! FowlCo is quickly becoming a waterfowl hunting destination and we are honored to be part of it! This episode is brought to you by Benelli Shotguns, Federal Premium Black Cloud, Rob Roberts Custom Gunworks, Hi-Viz Sights, Banded Brands, Avery Outdoors, Greenhead Gear Decoys, Realtree Brand Camo, Oakley Sunglasses, Corning Ford, LEER Toppers, and Bad Boy Mowers!

A very special episode with the amazing country music icon, Jeannie Seely. Jeannie is just the nicest person to talk to, and we are honored to have her as our guest for this really fun chat. She tells us about her roots in music, how she ended up in Nashville by way of California, and shares many great stories about meeting and working with various artists, and some of her most enduring friendships. Jeannie shares with us the story of purchasing her first car, to appearing on the Opry stage somewhere just shy of 3000 times and much much more. A mutual friend, former podcast guest, and one of Jeannie's cowriting partners, the equally talented and interesting Bobby Tomberlin, commented to us recently, "Jeannie is such a treasure." We agree wholeheartedly. Thank you to Jeannie for her time, and graciousness. We know you will enjoy this great episode. Jeannie's Bio (edited): Jeannie Seely will celebrate 55 years as a member of the Grand Ole Opry on Sept 16, 2022. Her recent album, "An American Classic", was released by Curb Records and produced by Don Cusic. The album includes collaborations with Bill Anderson, Rhonda Vincent, Steve Wariner, Lorrie Morgan, The Whites, Vince Gill and more. The project includes her duet with Willie Nelson, “Not A Dry Eye In The House”, is currently at radio and was previously released digitally on her 80th birthday. Jeannie has achieved chart topping songs as a solo artist, as a duet partner, and as a songwriter. From her 1966 Top 10 Billboard album “The Seely Style” to her most recent self–produced album, “Written In Song,” a CD project with 14 tracks all co-written or self-penned by Seely and recorded by Country Music Hall of Famers and Country music legends; Ernest Tubb, Dottie West, Willie Nelson, Merle Haggard, Faron Young, Jack Greene, Little Jimmy Dickens, Chris LeDoux, Ray Price and more. Jeannie's recordings have spanned six decades and provided enjoyment to country music fans all around the world. Many of the songs were recorded by Hall of Fame members. Jeannie earned a Grammy for her recording of “Don't Touch Me” in 1967. Seely is a weekly on-air host on SiriusXM Willie's Roadhouse, where she shares personal memories and fun stories about the songs she spins. 2018 Seely was honored to receive recognition and a star on the famed Music City Walk of Fame and recognized for ranking #2 in Billboard's Top TV Songs Chart for January 2018 for her song “Anyone Who Knows What Love Is (Will Understand),” written in 1964 and recorded by Irma Thomas. Early in her career, Jeannie's deeply moving vocals earned her the nickname of “Miss Country Soul”– a title that's still used today. Jeannie's biggest dream came true when she was inducted as a member of the world-famous Grand Ole Opry, becoming the first Pennsylvania native to do so. A country music legend and trailblazer, her perseverance over many years earned Seely the honor of being the first female to regularly host segments of the weekly Opry and is credited for changing the image of Opry by being the first to wear a mini-skirt on the Opry stage. Jeannie works tirelessly behind the scenes in the music industry on behalf of fellow artists and musicians. Known for her quick wit and humor, she documented some of her 'sayings” in her book, Pieces Of A Puzzled Mind, which is a unique collection of witticisms. Season 1 - Episode 21 - CHRIS LEDOUX WYOMING COWBOY A COLLECTION VINYL
Official Hot Country Podcast Website: http://www.hotcountrypodcast.com Chris McKay interviews Mark Sissel of Western Underground. Mark has spent over 30 years "Riding The LeDoux Brand". First as Chris LeDoux's right hand man to now backing Chris' son Ned LeDoux on the road. From the first phone call from Kaycee, WY to first their handshake in Salt Lake City, The bond between Chris and Mark was predestined to be friends for life. Recorded March 10, 2021 Episode Sponsored by: Surfshark and Passport America. FROM WIKIPEDIA: Chris LeDoux (October 2, 1948 – March 9, 2005) was an American country music singer-songwriter, bronze sculptor, and hall of fame rodeo champion. During his career LeDoux recorded 36 albums (many self-released) which have sold more than six million units in the United States as of January 2007. He was awarded two gold and one platinum album certifications from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), was nominated for a Grammy Award, and was honored with the Academy of Country Music Music Cliffie Stone Pioneer Award. LeDoux is also the only person to participate and also perform at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. LeDoux was born in Biloxi, Mississippi, on October 2, 1948. He was of French descent on his father's side. His father was in the US Air Force and was stationed at Keesler Air Force Base at the time of his birth. The family moved often when he was a child, due to his father's Air Force career. He learned to ride horses while visiting his grandparents on their Wyoming farm. At age 13, LeDoux participated in his first rodeo, and before long was winning junior rodeo competitions. LeDoux continued to compete in rodeo events and played football through his high school years. When his family moved to Cheyenne, Wyoming, he attended Cheyenne Central High School. After twice winning the Wyoming State Rodeo Championship bareback riding title during high school, LeDoux earned a rodeo scholarship to Casper College in Casper. During his junior year at Eastern New Mexico University, LeDoux won the Intercollegiate National bareback riding Championship. LeDoux married Peggy Rhoads on January 4, 1972. They had five children: Clay, Ned, Will, Beau, and Cindy. Rodeo success and music beginnings In 1970, LeDoux became a professional rodeo cowboy on the national circuit. To help pay his expenses while traveling the country, he began composing songs describing his lifestyle. Within two years, he had written enough songs to make up an album, and soon established a recording company, American Cowboy Songs, with his father. After recording his songs in a friend's basement, LeDoux "began selling his tapes at rodeo events out of the back of his pickup truck". In 1976, LeDoux won the world bareback riding championship at the National Finals Rodeo in Oklahoma City. Winning the championship gave LeDoux more credibility with music audiences, as he now had proof that the cowboy songs he wrote were authentic. LeDoux continued competing for the next four years. He retired in 1980. Music career With his rodeo career at an end, LeDoux and his family settled on a ranch in Kaycee, Wyoming. LeDoux continued to write and record his songs, and began playing concerts. His concerts were very popular, and often featured a mechanical bull (which he rode between songs) and fireworks. By 1982 he had sold more than 250,000 copies of his albums, with little or no marketing. By the end of the decade he had self-released 22 albums. Despite offers from various record labels, LeDoux refused to sign a recording contract, instead choosing to retain his independence and control over his work while enjoying his regional following. In 1989, however, he shot to national prominence when he was mentioned in Garth Brooks' Top 10 country hit "Much Too Young (To Feel This Damn Old)." Capitalizing on the sudden attention, LeDoux signed a contract with Capitol Records subsidiary Liberty Records and released his first national album, Western Underground, in 1991. His follow-up album, Whatcha Gonna Do with a Cowboy, was certified gold and reached the Top 10. The title track, a duet with Brooks, became LeDoux's first and only Top 10 country single, reaching No. 7 in 1992. In concert, he ended the song by saying, "Thanks, Garth!" For the 35th annual Grammy Awards in 1992, the single track "Whatcha Gonna Do with a Cowboy" was nominated for Best Country Vocal Collaboration. For the next decade, LeDoux continued to record for Liberty. He released six additional records, including One Road Man, which made the country Top 40 in 1998. Toward the end of his career, LeDoux began recording material written by other artists, which he attributed to the challenge of composing new lyrics. With his 2000 release, Cowboy, he returned to his roots, re-recording many of his earliest songwriting creations. The RIAA certified two gold and one platinum recordings for LeDoux. On February 22, 1993, the single "Whatcha Gonna Do with a Cowboy" went gold. On June 2, 1997, the album The Best of Chris LeDoux went gold. And on October 5, 2005, the album 20 Greatest Hits went platinum. Illness and death In August 2000, LeDoux was diagnosed with primary sclerosing cholangitis, which required him to receive a liver transplant. Garth Brooks volunteered to donate part of his liver, but it was incompatible. An alternative donor was located, and LeDoux received a transplant on October 7, 2000. After his recovery he released two additional albums. In November 2004, LeDoux was diagnosed with cholangiocarcinoma for which he underwent radiation treatment until his death. LeDoux died of cancer on March 9, 2005, at age 56. His funeral was held on March 11. https://www.facebook.com/hotcountrypodcast https://www.hotcountrypodcast.com https://www.facebook.com/OfficialChrisMcKay

Chris LeDoux is what some people describe as a MARVEL AT HIS CRAFT - with Director and Producer credits under his belt – aside (check him out on IMDB) – Chris LeDoux is a digital artist – or – as the mainstream would say – “A visual effects supervisor in film and television” – We tracked down some of Chris' peers – and this is just a tiny sample of the accolades we came across: LAP LUU (Chief Technology Officer at Magnopus) says – “Chris is a man of many skills and as hard working as they come. He has the ability to make miracles happen.” ANDY RAFAEL BARROS (VFX SOOP or Supervisor at A52)– “he did the design and work of a whole team in a matter of days, not weeks” ANDY WILCOFF (CEO at Furious Designs)– “If Chris leaped over a building in a single bound I wouldn't be surprised.” JASON YANOFSKY (Senior Light Designer at LUMA PICTURES)– “There are compositors, and then there's Chris LeDoux. To say he's a one-man wrecking crew, would be putting it lightly.” Chris LeDoux – Founder of Crafty Apes VFX – is described as “SMART”, “DAMN FUNNY”, “DETERMINED TO THRIVE” – I welcome to The Blackhall Studios Podcast – Chris LeDoux.
