When we're communicating with others digitally, whether that be video, audio, or text, it is important for us, both as senders, and recipients to correctly interpret the personality of the person that we're communicating with. Unfortunately, research shows that this isn't the case. In fact, with emails, 50% of the time, the “tone” is misinterpreted by the recipient. To help us build digital connection and trust with the people we communicate with online, I bring on an expert in the space. Her name is Erica Dhawan. Erica is an award-winning keynote speaker and is the author of the book titled Digital Body Language. Today Erica will help us learn how to express our digital body language so we can begin building greater connections and trust with those we communicate with online.MORE: https://creatingabrand.com/112

Happy one year anniversary to the Marketing for Good podcast! Today Erica takes a look back over the past year, and highlights the importance of employee engagement and getting real about diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI). She gives suggestions to listeners on how to be authentic and that DEI is a journey, not a destination. Erica also discusses mission (what you do and how you do it), vision (where you are going and why), values (principles that guide your work), and purpose (why you as an organization exist). Erica uses the Evans School as an example, to show why it is necessary to deconstruct in order to reconstruct. Erica’s love for searching great deals on everything led her to start a blog to share the great stuff she could find for runners and fitness enthusiasts alike. This inclination for writing and running makes her a self-professed “blogging runner.” She ran in high school and picked it up again after college as a means of losing weight. Inevitably, a marathon came into the horizon. A friend invited her to run her first, and a hilly one at that in San Francisco. She got the bug, and that eventually lead to over 400 running races, and 50+ of them are marathons. Twenty of those are the New York Marathon.Today Erica tells us the beginnings of her running career by way of the East Coast, settling in the Midwest, and how it has blossomed into a passionate endeavour. Not just a means of stress release, but also an encompassing lifestyle that has made Erica help countless others discover its joys.
