Sometimes it's easier said than done when it comes to strong emotions. But we can overcome or should I say become more comfortable with overwhelming emotions especially if they are ones that you feel often. New ones can be tricky as the mind/body has to find new ways to process them. We are all different when it comes to going through strong emotions. What works for me is immediately observing, feeling and talking myself through them. But also expressing them. Is it someone close to me, is it an environment, is it an escape from something that is draining. Whatever it maybe, express it. Meaning vocally or by craft go through it with yourself or someone, or in an another form.
Here we look at the five S's of the emotional wellness map. One sensitivity, two surrender, three stillness, four stability and five sustain. Over the past couple months I've been posting on each individual one, Here, I explain a little about how each of them works and a little background to them.
Here we look at the importance of slowing down in our every day lives, in every action, that we take, and be more aware of our daily activities, which intern will create a healthier, more regulated nervous system and emotional wellness
Here we explore emotional fitness, how do we get to a level of good, emotional fitness or wellness, and how to navigate through the process and points to consider to help you on that journey
Here we look at the third stage of the emotional wellness map which is stillness. Why is it so important to know the art of stillness in these times and how it can help when going through difficulties, distress, mental health, we look at how this skill helps you now, and in the future
Here, we look at the releasing of blocked emotions which are held over time, or in the present. The keyword, here is how to digest and process, and come to peace with these emotions, for those, especially that are rebuilding their lives emotionally
Here we look at the next stage, on the emotional wellness map which is surrender or release. Once you lift that burden of emotion that has been holding you down, then you can rest within yourself, and it helps you go onto the next stage, which is stillness number three However, remember this is a process, give yourself time there is no rush, it's just exploring these held deeper emotions from the past and releasing any current resentment that you may have picked up in your present day. Stage two can be one of the most challenging, can feel tense. But once done, you'll feel lighter, you'll feel a great sense of freedom within the body and mind.
Who we look at the five stages to wellness, in helping you to make it easier on yourself over a longer period of time. It's looking at how to work with your body, mind and your nervous system to be balanced, relaxed and productive
It's ok to be good when you want to be not when you need to be - importance of external pressures and validation, whos gets to say if you're responsible, when you should be responsible or take on tasks. Also the idea around what we tell ourselves. If what you are giving is the best you can give today who knows tomorrow might even better
