Soul-funk singer Gwen McCrae, known for hits like “Rockin' Chair” and “Funky Sensation,” passed away on Sunday, Feb. 23, at 81. Celebrated for her lasting impact on soul and disco, McCrae's music influenced generations. Her passing came just days after the death of three-time Grammy nominee and Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Jerry Butler, a leading soul singer of the 1960s, who died at 85. Nicknamed the “Ice Man,” Butler had numerous hits, including “For Your Precious Love” and “Make It Easy on Yourself.” His niece, Yolanda Goff, told The Associated Press that Butler died of Parkinson's disease at his home in Chicago. Liz reassures listeners that this is far from the truth and offers simple, practical steps to get started without feeling overwhelmed. Liz explains that you only need a few basic tech tools, like Zoom, Google Calendar, and a simple payment system like PayPal or Stripe, to begin working with coaching clients. She shares how many successful coaches grow organically through networking and referrals, rather than relying solely on social media. If social media feels intimidating, Liz encourages listeners to choose just one platform to focus on, whether that's Instagram, LinkedIn, or even email. This episode is filled with actionable advice to make technology work for you, so you can confidently step into coaching without sacrificing your privacy or feeling like you need to be a tech expert. If you're ready to embrace simple tech solutions and discover how to market your services in a way that works for you, this episode will give you the encouragement and practical tools to get started. We need simple solutions to help us through complex times, especially when it comes to our bodies. Meet Danielle Walker, diagnosed with an extreme form of ulcerative colitis at age 22, Danielle was terrified she'd never be able to eat all the wonderful, great-tasting foods she loved growing up or host warm, welcoming gatherings with family and friends. So when the medicine she was prescribed became almost as debilitating as the disease itself, Danielle took matters into her own hands, turned her kitchen into a laboratory, and set to work creating gut-healthy versions of the foods she thought she'd never be able to enjoy again. For anyone who has suffered through body frustrations, doctor visits with no avail, autoimmune disorders, chronic muscle pain conditions or health issues that seem impossible to turn around, today's podcast is for you. I speak with Danielle Walker, multi New York Times best selling author, food blogger and recipe creator. She shares more of her story and through resilience, we can all find more hope―hope that despite your ailments or hardships, you can live a full, happy, and healthy life without ever feeling excluded or deprived.
